I read a lot of mixed reviews I was a bit worried about my stay in iStay Monterrey. But our stay was excellent. People complained about rooms cleaning and air conditioning not working. Our room was cleaned every day, with all towels changed daily and air conditioning worked without any problems. Hotel rooms look a little bit old, but they're comfy and clean. We used a swimming pool a couple of times. And used a restaurant.

Only one elevator worked and with the never ending queue, we had to use stairs every day.

The elevators and hallways are a bit run down, the room itself was clean, and comfortable. There's a pool also which I didn't use, but looked nice. The price was very good and the included breakfast very good too.

1 of the 2 elevators didn't work, which made going up and down quite an experience considering this hotel is usually packed due to it's competitive price.

Location was excellent, within walking distance to the major attractions. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Room service was available until 10pm which was good and there was a nice choice of meals. Room was cleaned.

The pool was being refurbished, I wish they had mentioned something before as that was the one feature I was looking forward to. Room smelled of damp but it soon went when the AC kicked in. A member of staff knocked on my door early evening to see if all was well which I thought was nice but I took a while to answer the door and she walked in. I think that if ther eis no reply, they should simply walk away as it is an invasion of privacy. Same thing happened with the cleaner the follwoing morning. The lift were a bit slow, only two for over 15 floors. Overall, it was a good stay, it was quite pleasant.

The location is perfect, so many things to see and do all within walking distance.

The only negative issue was the elevator being overcrowded. Besides this my stay was a very good one.

Location is pretty good. If you rent a car, Don't be afraid of traffic. Everything in walking distance. Room very quiet!

Should have more coathangers and a hair dryer would be excellent. Maybe one english only tv chanel
