This hotel was super lovely and rather posh, after staying in a hostel previously! It was located just off the main road, opposite the lake. My double room was exceptionally clean and very spacious. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The room had a TV and air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious, with a walk in shower and hairdryer. Unfortunately, I had to change rooms the next day, due to a strong smell coming from the shower drainage. I was immediately allocated a room on the upper floor, which was very large and had two beds and a much bigger bathroom, with a bath and shower. The room also had access to a private room with a hammock, with a palapa roof - so unique and unexpected! The hotel also had a small pool, which was lovely to swim in after visiting the Mayan Archeological site of Cobá. There was also an undercover area with a hammock. I had breakfast in the hotel on my first morning, which was freshly prepared and delicious. The young lady on reception was the perfect host. She was professional, friendly and engaging.

I liked everything!

The location is the best. Pet-friendly considered and we try to be very respectable to places because this is a huge perk, and we never want to take it for granted. The staff are lovely. The value is good. Parking in front or side of the hotel we used. AC provided in the room. Very much enjoyed the pool and coffee and toast in the morning that was made upon request for a recommendation for a place to get coffee. We did not expect them to make it for us or add toast. FYI: Coba ruins are not a pet-friendly option. We will be making a second day-trip, leaving our pet at home, just to do this in our future. Attaching 3 pix of town and 2 at hotel pool area.

It is no fault of the hotel but it is next to homes that have roosters and turkey and burn (maybe trash) through the night. However, you may or may not have the same experience. Our ceiling fan was quite loud, we did not want to disrupt others by turning it on.

This underused hotel was an excellent place to stay in Coba. Loved the balcony view across the lake in the morning. Coba is a very small Mayan village that is incredibly peaceful compared to pretty well every tourist area in the Yucatan with many small restaurants close by and the coba archeological site 5 minutes away. Very clean, good security in a very safe place, good wifi and a/c. Pool available for an afternoon swim and great staff. We stayed a week (we've got the time) and really enjoyed the place, particularly the ruins, the variety of cenotes, and relaxed energy. The hotel is well situated to enjoy everything including photo ops of some crocodiles across from the hotel

The hotel was good and met all our needs,, but be aware of the taxi mafia who are very expensive and operate under the Tulum umbrella of sucking as much money as possible from the tourists. Always ask the price prior to getting in or they will try to charge you $40 US for a 5 km ride to a cenote. When they pull out the plastic sheet with ridiculous prices just walk away, or rent a bicycle. There is next to no info on how to get in or out to Coba without a car, but there are various Oriente buses that come through every day around noon, 3 pm and 5 pm from Valladolid and Tulum. Ask locals for the times and be flexible because buses may come early or late by 30 minutes. They stop at the main corner 1 minute away from the hotel

Super cute, comfortable and nice hotel by the lake. Looked brand new. It was possible to rent a bicycle to cycle to cenote Choo-ha 7km away along the village road in the underground cave in middle of the jungle. Lovely and clean pool for swimming. Breakfast could be ordered additionally and was very helpful before the exploration of Coba pyramids. I'd recommend going there by 8am to be able to walk around alone in the jungle before the crowds arrive. Coba has real village feel with dogs, goats and roosters singing for you outside :)

Everything was great! Just need to use the earplugs as the village animals are quite noisy.

Very modern, super clean, spacious rooms, friendly and professional staff, lovely pool, perfect location for Cobá Mayan ruins (within walking distance) and the hotel over looks the beautiful lake. Unfortunately, the was a problem with the drainage in the shower. Another room was immediately arranged to me, which included a private cabaña with a hammock!

Absolutely nothing!

The staff were all very kindhearted and helpful. A special gracias to José who works the overnight shift. They make a good, substantial breakfast, served poolside. The pool is small, but very cool and refreshing. My goal was to visit the ruins at Cobá, and then just relax and read. I was able to achieve both quite comfortably and at a good price. My room was spotlessly clean. Make sure you ask for daily cleaning or they leave you alone.

I stayed at Hotel Itza Cobá for a week, and enjoyed slow exploration of the ruins and leisurely strolls around Laguna Cobá for birdwatching. Many other travelers raved about the staff and I totally second that. They brought me a pillow seeing me lying in the pool-side hammock and got me a brand new electric kettle for daily tea making. The location and amenities are great for the price. The a-la-carte breakfast was delicious and super convenient. Often I would get the meal after my early morning excursions and the staff were very accommodating. The room and bathroom are spacious compared to what I had elsewhere in Mexico. The minibar and AC both worked really well.

About the solar shower: it worked well most of the time; I only had problem once after it got dark.

The location is great, right off the lagoon and main road. Very close walk to the archaeological zone and delicious restaurants. The room and bathroom were well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The staff were attentive and cared about my comfort, and were helpful when I needed a taxi. Breakfast was excellent and varied - way better than I had expected. The pool and hammock area is a nice touch.

I did not like the scented toilet paper. Dogs and birds in the neighborhood could be noisy at times, but that is obviously not something the hotel can control!

I loved this place!! It felt like home! The staff were so kind and attentive and it was so peaceful and calm. Also, it was a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and amenities and a 10 minute walk to the Coba ruins. Perfect!!

Nothing!! Was fabulous! Maybe a kettle in the room but that’s just because I’m English!!

The junior suite has an awesome balcony with amazing views of the lagoon! Great value for the price, if you are visiting the Coba ruins I definitely recommend staying the night here.
