The Mary Carmen Hotel is a charming small hotel in the downtown area on a pedestrian part of the 5th avenue. It was exactly what we were looking for: near restaurants, streets and boutiques to explore, walking distance from snorkeling areas like La Monina and Hemingway restaurant. It was very clean, the air conditioned worked well and wasn't noisy. It is central to go explore the north, south or east part of the island by taxi or car rental. Beach towels available at the front desk. Taxis at the corner of the street. Thanks to Miguel and all the staff for their dedication and smiles : )

It is not a critic, just for info for light sleepers. You can hear the ferry horn when they depart in the morning or people talking in the hotel middle patio but they usually didn't stay late.

What didn’t we like? First of all the location was incredible. Right in the heart of the city center. Anything you needed was a 2 minute walk, including the waterfront. The hotel was beautifully furnished. Stunning paint colors on all the walls with vintage tchotchkes throughout. The decor was fantastic. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a shared kitchen space which came in handy and TURTLES! They were so cute and sweet! I shared a mango with them in the morning and it was definitely a highlight of the trip!

The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the ferry port and located at the center of the town. Despite being centrally located it wasn't noisy at night. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable plus there's free purified water. Our daughter really like the many turtles around the patio. The staff were kind and very helpful with all our queries about the activities around the island. They gave complimentary entrance ticket to San Francisco Beach Club. All in all a great place for families. 🥰

The staff was friendly. Breakfast was delicious. The patio and the turtles were amazing and unique. The decor and colors are beautiful. It is a joy to walk though the hotel. The room was nice and big. Excellent water pressure. Nice central location. It's a quick walk to a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, the ocean, and a cab stand.

The doors can stick a bit as they are wood and the climate is humid. My room was near some sort of machine that kicked off and on, but it wasn't too loud and didn't bother me after the first night.

We just stayed one night at the end of a two week stay on Cozumel. We moved here to be closer to the ferry terminal. Many years ago, we spent a month at Mary Carmen. We were happy to see the turtles were still there. The room was clean and comfortable, well supplied. There is a kitchen and fridge available for guests to use. We were able to store our luggage until it was time for us to catch the ferry.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like. The Mary Carmen is a great, small hotel.

Loved the location. I like to stay close to town and it was perfect for that: shopping, food, access to taxis, etc. It's great value for the money!

I had an upgraded room with kitchenette. This room faced the street, which is a walking/motorbike (for shop workers mainly), bike street. No cars. However, workers on the building across the street started at 6am, before sunrise, and that affected my sleep that early. Note this was only on the work week, not weekends. That part did affect the noise level. If I had been in the main hotel, where rooms are toward the back, I think I would've been fine as far as noise goes.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, all the communal areas were lovely. The rooms were all comfortable and clean. It is in a very cental location easily walkable from the ferry terminal and easy access to the centre of town. Perfect location if you like going out exploring. We loved our stay here.

Good location right in the center of town, the rooms was clean although it took a bit of time until the hot water got through.

I had pigeons outside my window eating my head off every day at 4am. I tell them the guy at the reception about it after my first night (out of 3) but I guess they couldn’t find the time to figure it out (or offer me a different room).

The location is great, close to everything yet quiet at night. The beds were super comfortable and clean, everything is pretty and the staff was very friendly.

We were given a room near the reception on the ground floor so it was quite noisy at night when guests arrived late and early morning when people were leaving early, but other than that we absolutely loved it!

The location is perfect. Center of the main shopping district, restaurants and only one block from the beach. No vehicles on the street out front just pedestrian The staff always very helpful. Rooms are exceptionally clean an well maintained. great shower! Breakfasts were basic but very good; exceptional coffee and a sunny second level outside dining. love the pet turtles wandering the courtyard.

Band music from nearby club was a little annoying Friday and Saturday nights. Roosting pigeons cooing at night. Neither were a big concern for me. (shower floor very slippery; advise shower sandals
