We booked Spirit for my birthday trip and I am really happy with our choice! It’s relatively close to the action but further away enough to enjoy peace and tranquility. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous - we loved the swinging bed! Our room was right below the rooftop pool and we’d hear the sound of the water which was like a spa experience for me. A taxi to the center is like $10-$15 depending on the destination. The staff is sweet and friendly, making sure you’d have everything you need. One night we forgot some gifts we bought in the taxi and the front desk employee was able to retrieve them in the morning for us - everyone is really amazing and treating their clients like kings. If you’re a girl and you come for the first time in Holbox - please don’t bring a million pairs of heels because you won’t be able to wear them - no street paving whatsoever - but I feel like this is the charm of Holbox. We fell in love with the island and its amazing people and we surely will be back - and once we do - we’ll stay in Spirit again. Muchísimas gracias para todo, amigos! Hasta la próxima vez!

Beautiful location right on the beach, with a stunning rooftop pool and restaurant area which was incredible to have breakfast each morning. The staff were incredibly helpful and very accommodating to a large group of friends. This was even throughout a crazy storm during our stay. The sea view suite was stunning. We stayed in room 310 which had 360 views of the sea which were visible in both the shower and toilet. The bed is really large and comfortable too.

The food was expensive for its quality and sometimes 20% tips were added on top of the bill which was excessive. However the prices were in line with other beachfront restaurants on a generally expensive island! The lighting in the bedrooms was very dimly lit unfortunately which was a pain for getting ready both morning and night. The inclusive breakfast is disappointing!

Lovely beach hotel in the most amazing location on the island. Not too far from the center, but calm enough to relax on the beach without the fuss of the center. Amazing view from the restaurant and the pool.

We had the room close to the road, and it was sometimes a bit noisy (cars and people). Also the refund policy is too strict, we had some people sick who couldn’t come and nothing was refunded (as told when booking). The rest was perfect.

The comfort and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. We also walked/ cycled to other areas and beaches, and felt like the beach area right at the hotel is the best on the island-semi private and tranquil.

Ok, my main complaint was that Room #12 is right beneath the rooftop dining area. Every morning at 7am, I was awakened by the loud clatter of the moving around of tables and chairs right above us. The food there was excellent but a little pricey.

Location was awesome! Right by the ocean and on the quiet side. The breakfast was included and was just a 2 minute stroll up the beach ...it was the best and served ocean side!!!

The roads! We rented a golf cart for 4 hours and lots of roads were blocked off with huge holes and rocks that we couldn't get thru main roads. But still was great to drive around and see the whole island!

We liked the cozy nature of the room, it had a balcony, and it was perfect for our island trip.

It's a Holbox thing, but WiFi reception was poor, in addition, there were a few issues with the bathroom, and the safety box. However, those were quickly fixed. If you're looking for glamour, look somewhere else. In addition, after checking out, we had some time to wait before our pick up and decided to have a last lunch at the restaurant - we were charged a "restaurant use" fee despite having been at the hotel for 10 nights. Please be aware of this minor inconvenience and do not use the restaurant if you're not checked into the hotel if you wish to avoid this minor inconvenience.

This place was so amazing. I've stayed in other hotels on Holbox Island and I have to tell you this one blew me away. The room had a super comfortable bed, powerful AC, massive hot shower, and anything else we could have needed. The downstairs pool was right outside of our room and we made sure to enjoy it. The rooftop pool had the most stunning views and perfect chairs to lounge in to watch the sunset. The restaurant was really amazing and drinks were tasty too. The staff was always available and helpful as well. Being right on the beach is so memorable, those views will never leave my mind! Thank you for an incredible stay!

Perfect location at the beach. Walking distance to town (20-30 min). Comfortable rooms. Fantastic breakfast. Nice and helpful staff. We had a wonderful time and wish we could have stayed longer.

The food and drinks in the restaurant is expensive. We did not eat there often. The roomrate is quit steep. On the other hand: it was worth it; really nice accommodation

Beautiful rooftop, the property is steps away from the beach, and the beach there is quieter and clean (as compared to the beaches closer to the downtown where the water was totally gross and brown with algae). Cute balcony and comfy bed. The breakfast was good too (yogurt with fruits, bread, and your choice of eggs/pancakes/chilaquies).

The downtown is a 15 min walk so we went there every night for a little more of a lively atmosphere. The walk is extremely dark so everyone uses their cell phone flashlights. But we were 2 girls and still felt pretty safe even at night walking around the island.

Spirit Holbox was a very charming hotel. The staff was great and accommodated us with everything we needed (for example did we get an extra duvee when we asked for that). The breakfast was great and the rooftop is a beautiful place to see the sunset from!
