Unique property with a nautical theme. We stayed in the studio suite which has two floors and a large balcony that faces the ferry dock. One complaint that most people have about Isla is the water pressure, but it worked really well here. Lots of space to store your items, too. There was construction on the street so there was no vehicle traffic when we stayed which was just fine with me. The room has a fridge and microwave, but there’s a community kitchen that you can use to cook, clean dishes, etc. There’s also a super market and pharmacy that are about a 10 second walk from the front steps, and the ferry is about a 1-2 minute walk (depending on your luggage).

The location was only a 2 minute walk after getting off the ferry, easy to locate and the staff was extremely helpful at giving directions. Katya and Ricardo were always a text away if needed and responded promptly to our questions. Katya was extremely helpful resolving an issue with a blatant overcharge by a local shop owner. In addition to that, she and Ricardo took the time to refer us to some very good restaurants. The communal kitchen was spotless, and so was our room. We stayed upstairs by the pool and it was very quiet. This was my husband’s first time on Isla and I hadn’t been for many years. Neither one of us like the “all inclusive” scene, so this was the perfect answer to our stay.

Maybe some water glasses and plates and silverware in the room, rather than taking them from the kitchen. A guest book in the room so guests can write their favorite places for food, drings, etc. Also, a map of the streets with the shops, laundry, restaurants that people like and have had experience with.

Excellent location, 3 minutes walk from the ferry, 10-12 minutes to Playa Norte - on the main pedestrian street with numerous shops and restaurants - which is beautiful (though overcrowded). Extremely clean, one of the cleanest stays ever. Nice and big room (with no view). Quiet at night. Very nice and well-equipped kitchen (and super market is 20m away). Small pool on the top, with cold (and refreshing) water. The lady who runs the place was very informative but there is no reception and we saw her only then.

There was a lot of noise during the day (and we stay in the room when it’s too hot) from the construction works in the neighborhood.

Stayed just one night in Casa Barco on Isla Mujeres but really loved my stay. The hotel is just 2 min away from the ferry terminal yet in a quiet street a couple of blocks away from the main drag on the island. There are some great restaurants and bars around and you feel a bit away from all the tourists. Yet, it is just a 10 min walk to beautiful playa norte. The hotel itself has a cute boat design, rooms are cool and spacious, nice big walk in shower. Free water, tea and coffee are provided as well as storage space in the kitchen and there is a nice small pool on the roof top. Definitely worth staying here when on the island for a few days!

Hotel staff were amazing, location is perfect. Very private rooms on the top floor. We had a problem with hot water and front door lock to property would not lock - staff took care of this immediately. I have been to Isla many times - top notch service. This was our second stay and we will stay at Casa Barco again.

Bed is uncomfortable and to hard.

As soon as we entered, we knew we would love our stay. The place is very clean, with central air conditioning in the apartment that works wonderfully and provides excellent ventilation. It feels really comfortable. We also had a large terrace. Honestly, it’s a fantastic place to stay on Isla Mujeres. Our room was the “Junior Suite with Sea View” with two floors. This apartment is extremely well located, surrounded by a pharmacy, a grocery store, and just steps from the popular tourist streets. It’s a very safe area as there are many tourists around. The staff were super proactive and communicative over WhatsApp for any requests I had.

The room was clean as were the common areas and everywhere smelled fresh and was welcoming. The member of staff who we spoke to on the phone when we were delayed at the airport was friendly and helpful. The staff around the place were always polite, well presented and pleasant. The suite would definitely be worth the extra if you can afford it as the place overall was welcoming and well cared for and the suite allows you some independence, privacy and a little less disturbance by others. I would gladly book again if I could secure that option. My negatives are just considerations for your personal comfort, overall the place is clean and restful

Our room (Chefs room) was on the main road and right next to the kitchen/common area and the door to that area. It was also under the upstairs suite. This meant that you could easily hear/be disturbed by other guests (though I think many of them did not realise this was a bedroom which I think could be easily resolved by staff mentioning this in the welcome to all guests) and the main road. The people above moved furniture around (I think setting up the sofa bed every night?) and when new guests are welcomed this happens in the common area next to your room, at any time of day or even night. Get earplugs and you will be fine Rooms would benefit from usable balconies or chairs internally

Comparable to a 4 star hotel in room size, cleanliness and overall feeling. King bed, tall ceiling, large bathroom with a bathtub. Everything was spotless and well maintained. House keeping was done every day so everything always smelled fresh. The common area is large and the kitchen has most of the things you need. The pool and the pool area are small, but it's ok considering the number of guests(there can't be more than 8 rooms in total). Our room was facing the back of the building and it was quiet all the time, the ones facing the street might get noise from scooters and golfcarts, but not during the night, there's not much going on in the area after the day trip tourists leave. I think the price is very good for what you get, you're not very close to the main beaches, about 10-12min walk, but that might an advantage actually.

There's an emphasis on being quiet and you might feel constrained when using the common areas. It would have been great if the kitchen had an oven, it only has a microwave. The walls are kind of thin and you can hear noisy neighbors, but it's not terrible.

Roof pool is nice for evening swim and heated. Centre of Isla in front of the ferry locale is awesome! Safe location! In front of great small restaurants, juice stand, and grocery store and pharmacy. Shower is soft and sometimes the heater in the chef room doesn’t work so hot showers may be warm or cold but not a huge issue with all the accommodations made. No shampoo so guests should bring their own.

Lovely hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, very accommodating staff who helped us through with our booking error and fixing the tv. Excellent location walking distance to the Playa Centro, Playa Norte and the ferry terminals, lots of food options nearby and we appreciated how there is a pharmacy and mini mart opposite the hotel. Pool was well maintained

The shower in one of the rooms we stayed in took aaages to get warm and didn't quite get hot
