The rooms are spacious and nice. We took a room for a couple , the bed was comfortable. There was a kitchen that we used for breakfast. There was hot water in the shower. The staff was very helpful and patient with any question we had. You could fill up water at the front desk with no limit.

The only downsides were that there are little tiny ants around the kitchen so you can’t leave anything out of the fridge otherwise they climb in it. The other only downside is the shower pressure isn’t the best but we didn’t mind. The safe was broken and the staff tried to help but could succeed, they ended up giving us a key to it so it worked out.

Hotel location was perfect for me: a three minute walk to the malecon and to my favorite beach, Half Moon Beach (no services), and a short walk to North Beach/Playa Norte. It was also a short walk to a wide array of restaurants, from the simplest to the more sophisticated. Anyone visiting, especially in centro (the north end of the island), should be aware that this is a no shirt, no shoes, no problem type of place, the most casual place I've ever visited. Flip flops and t-shirts in the nicer restaurants.

It was my fault, I asked for a balcony room, should have asked for an interior room. I could hear everything going on in the street immediately below. After a day or two I didn't notice it or care and enjoyed being able to walk out on the balcony and out over the town. However, for future travelers looking for more quiet, I would recommend an interior or back room.

Quiet street. In reception they have a place for you to fill up your water bottles. Good strong air conditioner in the room. water in the shower got hot enough, not scalding but sufficiently hot enough to take a comfortable shower. Has everything you need for a few days stay. Not fancy by any means, but good and within walking distance to beaches, restaurants and the malecon is half a block away. Also the electronic touch key fob to unlock the room door was great and soo much easier than fumbling with a key or trying to remember a passcode.

Slight bad smell coming from the bathroom pipes at times. Likely from the shower drain, but it wasn't too bothersome to me, I just kept the bathroom door closed. Also if you are on an upper floor there will be several flights of stairs to lug your luggage up. It was also a bit bright in the room for me to sleep well as the doors to the rooms have frosted glass panels and the lights from the hallway and other lights/streetlights on the neighboring buildings shined in all night.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Fitz Mar. The location is perfect — just a five-minute walk to Playa Norte and close to everything you might need. The apartment had everything we needed, and the kitchen was well equipped, which made it easy to cook a few meals. Comfortable, convenient, and a great home base for exploring the area. Would definitely stay again.

The top step on the stair at each floor is high risk for falling--please redesign it. Both my teen & I had to be extra cautious at that top step esp. when descending.

Staff were very friendly, gave us a choice of room when we arrived and helpful when we needed anything. Room was clean, had a kitchenette (we didn’t need the kitchen but having a fridge was great). The location was good, very close walk to everything in the Playa Norte area (including the ferry). Couldn’t really fault it!

Not much I can say

Perfect location in a quiet street but still very close to the main streets & activity, also close to all the beaches. Really comfortable bed, & lovely big bathroom. Loved the fact that I had a fridge & basic kitchenette - it contained everything I needed. Also liked the free water available for my refillable bottle!

Lighting in the room could have been a little brighter, also a bedside lamp.

A nice small family hotel in a good location nearby many goods restaurants and laundry. Also Playa Norte is only a short walk. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very helpful when we needed something. They enabled also early check-in. There was also drinking water available all the time.

We didn't look for any fancy things and I was really surprised. It was better than I expected. The location is perfect, near everything. The place is clean, the room was really clean. We had hot water. WiFi was good The staff was kind and helpful If we come back for sure it will be there. Thank you :)

Clean, great location in isla mujeres, next to everything and the staff is amazing. I must note that during my stay, as it was my birthday, my boyfriend called for them to arrange flowers and chocolate, they did so happily and with a big heart. Thank you so much!
