We loved the location and that the beach was free of seaweed. The service beach side was also great and very attentive. Estephania the manager went out of her way to celebrate our baby’s first beach trip with toys, candy and little details.

The restaurant food was average and very expensive. Most dinners for two people- one app, 2 main dishes and sometimes one dessert and one drink at most was over 200 which is expensive for Mexico. The only restaurant worth going was Bassano. The other restaurants there was nothing incredible about them even breakfast was 80-100 for 2 adults with just one coffee and the main entrees. Cafe Maya was the worst breakfast place. $50 for 2 sandwiches and one coffee.

Beautiful hotel, has everything a family might require! Very nice gym, breakfast and facilities! Spent 4 night with our 3 daughters!

Looks old and worn down in some places! Also the place were the guests have breakfast can not accomodate even 1/3 of the people so there is an average wait time of 25-30min per day! Also, the staff quality varies a lot! You have the ones that are on top of everything and then you have staff at the pool that may not show up for 15 min or have to ask for someone to take an order 3-4 times and they do it with a very “heavy heart”! Almost makes you feel bad asking…

This hotel is spectacular in my opinion. I love the various ecosystems that surround the hotel, from the Jungle to the beach and the lagoon. I don't think the pictures online do it justice. The staff were very welcoming and more than willing to accommodate our stay, from early check-in to late check-out they were most helpful and attentive. I didn't eat breakfast here but there is a huge range on offer, from cafes to restaurants. The food that I did eat was beyond amazing. The sushi - great, the tacos - great really hard to fault this place. It also has a huge range of activities on offer on the grounds, from the ground cenote, to paddle boarding, a boat cruise on the lagoon, there is a lot to do.

Mosquitos but they actually provide you with mosquito repellant in your room.

The hotel is really excellent! From arrival to departure the staff makes you feel valuable and they really work hard to accommodate any of your needs. All the services are excellent. The parking service is wonderful, the swimming pools are excellent, the breakfast is delicious. Mayakoba is s beautiful complex.

Although the breakfast was included we were always presented with the check and the intention is to provide tips which I find it not respectful to the client. It puts you in a bad position with respect to the people serving you if you don’t give a tip. This should not happen in a 5 star hotel for which you already paid enough. The dining experience during lunch and dinner is basic and some time overpriced for what it is.

The beach was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Free boat ride was very relaxing and fun. They managed to get halal meat for us every night (we told them in advance) so that was very helpful. They celebrated our anniversary every night! There were many cool birds in the compound! Iguanas too!

Pools in the laguna area were a bit outdated. Sometimes one has to wait a while for the buggy to arrive. But very minor compared to the fantastic experience.

Grounds were very pleasant. Staff was fabulous-- truly first rate-- in all aspects. Given the size of the place and the number of staff that we dealt with, we didn't have a single negative experience.

This is a very expensive resort. Even beyond the room rates, the meals were very expensive in relation to the quality of the food (which was very good relative to what's available in Playa Del Carmen), and almost all the activities cost money too. The one really bad meal I had was at their steak house--I have never had a bad steak at steak house but this one...inedible. The other thing I didn't care aesthetically was the double barrier they created around their sea swim area- it's really the only blight on an otherwise beautiful view.

This was our first time in the Mayakoba area and our stay at the Fairmont was wonderful. It was a great mix of relaxation and fun activities, and a perfect safe, beautiful and special experience for my college daughter and me to enjoy a week together. The included buffet breakfast was very good and we had a wonderful experience at the Korean bbq restaurant and enjoyed drinks at the Cielo rooftop bar. We also enjoyed going to the other hotels for new dinner options. We recommend signing up for the complementary lagoon boat tour early in your trip to see the entire property and wildlife. We enjoyed our snorkeling outing that left from the beach. Overall we had a great mother/daughter week.

We did not sign-up for the all inclusive package because we are not big eaters, but the cost of food and drink was incredibly expensive. It was not made clear at check-in whether our included breakfast also included gratuity (which I think it did?), and we were always asked for additional tip each morning. The spa was very nice but again extremely expensive. It was also a bit difficult to get preferred times for dinner reservations each night, unless you booked several days in advance. We also wish there were more bikes available around the property. This was the easiest way to get to around the property and to the beach (which was a 20 min walk from our room), but bikes were often in short supply. With all this said, we would definitely go back to the Fairmont Mayakoba.

All staff was excellent - front desk, concierge, restaurants, spa, shops, room service - helpful and friendly. Variety of restaurant options was good too. I also enjoyed some of the resort activities, such as handcrafts, river boat etc.

The resort is massive and the directions signs could be more intuitive. Appreciate that bikes are available but it is hard to understand the paths through the signs. Also some of the bikes could have some maintenance. Room service dining takes a very long time.

The Faimont Mayakoba is a stunning hotel with every thing you could think of at a resort hotel! It has an amazing rooftop cocktail bar called Cielo that is perfect for pre-dinner Sunset drinks or a night cap by the open fire pits. The resort is incredibly big but we used the numerous bikes provided to travel around with ease. Also, the beauty of Mayakoba is that you can visit all 4 resorts and dine at each one. Very keen to come back and stay at one of the other resorts next time!

The Fairmont has a number of pools to cater to your liking, however the main pool by the beach had a limited number of beds which had all been reserved with towels early on in the day. As a result, it was impossible to enjoy this pool at all during our stay, In addition, there are so many kids at this resort, so if you are looking for a peaceful holiday you may want to try another hotel.
