The food was exceptional at La Fuega. Service at all bars and restaurants was beyond our expectations. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating.

The room was a little loud. Music from Neighboring clubs. Not much the resort could do about that.

Overall it was a lovely stay. The hotel and facilities could do with a lift, especially the one pool by the Fuego restaurant which was crumbling. Positives include being on the beachfront, good breakfast, nice infinity pool on the beach, not far from 5th avenue restaurants and attractions but very quiet.

Negatives include - having weddings on 2 of the 3 days closing out some of the public areas and restaurants, expensive for Mexico, diving tours were 3 times the price of anywhere else, as were SPA treatments, tips expected everywhere, seaweed on beach and in water very unpleasant.

Location was perfect for first time visitors; got to see the real Playa a few blocks away on Avenue 5 and the tourist area which was lovely and catered to dining and beach. Our hotel had vigilant security in all entrances and along the beachfronts, which was public closer to the water. Food at Mahekal was wonderful❣️

I would have really appreciated a hotel shuttle to and from the airport - transportation is a must and our arrival transport was short handed and not able to accommodate our late arrival; however our departure transport was relaxing and perfect.

Everything was perfect (including the agoutis and the coatimundis... :) and the Golden Fronted Woodpecker) except the excuse for not compelting the wake up call.

1. The beach was a bit of a mess due to the sargasso bloom...not your fault. 2. My wake-up call for 5:30AM Sunday June 22 did not occur. When I spoke with the front desk man in Spanish, he told me it was for 6:30. I said, NO, I watched Sofia write 5:30 WAKEUP and 6:30 departure. He checked it, planning to show me I was wrong, until he realised he was wrong. Everyone makes mistakes ...I was only disappointed when no apology happened. This reminded me of "old Mexico" when I lived there, but very surprising for Mahekal.

Beautiful property with palm trees and luxuriant vegetation. It looks like a tropical forest. The rooms are in huts, and each hut is slightly different. The breakfast buffet is large and offers many choices. The barman does great lattes. The location is excellent: within walking distance from the Quinta Avenida.

Watch the slippery surfaces, they are dangerous. I injured my toe one day. Some items on the dinner menu are tiny, others are big. One day, I went away hungry because all the items I choose were small. Another day, I was stuffed. From then on, we asked the waiters if the serving was big or small.

Staff, infrastructure, very comfortable beds, the place was very well maintained, modern installations, breakfast is delicious, they have lots of variety. The cocktails are very good as well. The check in was very fast and easy to communicate with the staff.

They make every guest sign the pool rules; however, they don't really have anyone checking and forcing people to respect them. We had an issue with a very disrespectful Mexican family and their kids, and we did not see anyone from the hotel staff verifying that the rules were applied. The beach is not very pretty, and the bed suns area is quite small, you need to wake up very early to reserve your spot as there are not enough places for all the guests. My husband forgot in the pool area his t-shirt and it was never found, and we just received an answer like : "I don't know what happened there" and that was it. So be careful with your belongings.

Perfect location, right on the beach - Great breakfast - Excellent facilities such as swimming pools (3) restaurants, bars and even Starbucks on site - Large room, with great furnishing - Felt very safe in the heart of Playa

I had an issue with the ceiling leaking due to the rain. Then it took them a whole day to change my room, despute to multiple follow ups from me. Very frustrating experience, front desk staff not very helpful - Staff were unprofessional and at one time rude - tiny gym and no other faciltieis like sauna, steam room etc

The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. The large crew of staff were so kind and genuinely friendly. The breakfast buffet was delightful. The grilled food at Fuego was great. The beach near Fuego is gorgeous and peaceful, and never too crowded, with amazing beach beds. The Las Olas infinity pool is gorgeous, with easy access to the bar and great service. We can't wait to go back!

Unfortunately there were some noise issues. Our unit was near the water, next to the beach by Itzi pool. There was a wedding on the first night that was incredibly noisy... felt like we our room was in the middle of the dance floor. Luckily the noise ended at 11pm, which was fine for us. It would have been nice to know ahead about the hours of the wedding. On night 2, a Saturday, we heard the most aggressively loud bass coming from a nearby club.. it continued until 6-7am in the morning. It was not pleasant. Again, a warning would've been nice.

This was a superior stay. There was nothing about this beautiful place that wasn't done well. The location is the stand out exceptional quality. We stayed in a palapas on the ocean front and it was wonderful. Steps to the beach with perfect swimming. Hammocks and table on our porch to take in the view. The room was beautifully decorated and housecleaning came by daily and left beautiful decorations. There were thoughtful touches throughout our stay there, including chocolate turtles left to say goodbye. The grounds were immaculately kept, ample relaxed entertainment including pool, chess, swim up bars, a boutique, an onsite coffee shop, spa, and bikes available. The breakfast and dinner buffets were rich, varied, and fresh. Staff was impeccable with courtesy, respect, and helpfulness. We felt genuinely welcome and cared for while we were there.

There was nothing not to love about the grounds, room, staff, and location. The only slight negative was the price - it was not cheap. But I did feel we got what we paid for with our experience staying there.

The property was beautiful and Tulum-like vibes , the beach area was so cute and beach cleaned everyday- the location is also right on the beach and on a street with lots of amazing food! There’s security on site making sure only guests enter the property.

Optional experiences could have been explained better. We saw a woman there painting pottery every day and on the last day we were there we found out it was an experience the hotel offered for people that wanted to paint something. I wish I had known to take advantage of this fun thing. We never saw guests there enjoying the activity just the facilitator alone…
