We spent just one night in here and loved every minute off it. The garden the sounds of the jungle!! Wow just fantastic except the ROOSTER Hahaha. Our Mayan bungalow was perfect. Lois our host was really friendly and we enjoy chatting to him and finding out more about the area. Before we leave he prepared for us wonderful breakfast and it was exquisite. Lois you really enriched our stay and we wished we could have stayed longer. This is authentic gem of a place. Thank you and I hope we see you again. M.Zofia and Phil

Luis is an exceptional host. While fairly basic conditions, the room is air-conditioned + a standing fan can be used. The bed is very comfy and the lighting is good. The detached shower and toilet are reached by going outside, only a few steps away. The surrounding lush garden is filled with birds. Breakfast was excellent: fresh fruit, bread, yogurt + granola, we had tacos with cochinita pibil, and freshly squeezed juice. Close to Chi’chen Itza. Good restaurant in the village with very friendly staff within easy walking distance.

You may hear some barking dogs from the neighbors, but they didn’t interfere with our sleep.

The bungalow is in a small, very cute garden, with fruit trees, a little pond, tropical birds come to visit. The hosts live opposite and take care of you extremely well. The breakfast was fresh, very tasty and copious. It is in a village with a nice little restaurant and bakery. A great option to visit Chitchen Itza from.

Our stay at the Mayan Bungalow at Chichen Itza was the highlight of our trip to the Yucatán! Louis was an exceptional host and tour resource—making our visit the Yucatán the vacation of a lifetime! Our breakfasts were wonderful, fresh and delicious.The accommodations were very comfortable and gave us a taste of the local Mayan culture. Thank you Louis for your hospitality and sharing with my husband and I your love for the local culture, history and people!

Luis is the best host we’ve had. The bungalow is literally in the jungle and among the trees. Yes there were confused roosters crowing at night but there are earplugs provided if you want. We didn’t use them. The area is safe and so close to Chichen Itza you can be there in less than 15 minutes. We were leaving early in the morning on our second day and instead of the full breakfast spread, Luis was kind enough to make a box breakfast for us to take away. We travel a lot as worldschoolers and if we had to chose between a 5 star hotel and Mayan bungalow we’d say go with Luis because he is just that great. Also gave recommendations in the area which we took and so glad we did. There is a LOT to see in the area if there is time after visiting the world wonder!

We should have stayed longer. I’d really like to go back and use this place as a base for exploring more of the area!

Very kind host (mr. Luis) and could give us all the information we needed. Beautiful garden with fruittrees, birds , squirrels and nice lodges. We stayed in the one with the internal rest-/bathroom. We loved.the breakfast with bread , yoghurt ,fresh fruit and granola. Chichen itza 15 min drive. Lots of chenotes on route.

In the village self is not much to do, but we came to relax and visit the chichen itza Almost around the corner. :)

Host is very friendly and gives good recommendations for the area, we felt very well taken care of. Breakfast is amazing and the best we had in Mexico, and it starts at 7am so you will get to the ruins in time. It is cool to sleep in a Mayan hut, and on the morning you are in 10 minutes (by car) at the ruins.

It is in a small town/rural area in the jungle, so the whole night you hear different animals (mostly dogs and chicken) - but the room comes with ear plugs! You have to walk outside to get to the bathroom (private) in the night that may be scary.

Luis is an exceptional host and his property is amazing. He was super communicative before and during our stay, and was there to greet us when we arrived. The bungalow is located in the jungle, surrounded by beautiful trees, plants and birds. There isn't a better location if you want to be in close proximity of Chichén Itzá! The bungalow was stocked with everything we needed upon arrival. Luis is an incredibly generous and thoughtful host: he offered my partner and I fresh squeezed juice upon our arrival, and tea before bed. He was super accommodating to diet restrictions (1 of us is vegetarian), and in the morning he had a delicious breakfast spread waiting for us. (He even sent us on our way with leftovers!!) Luis is super knowledgeable about the area, and he provided us with so much helpful guidance about getting to the nearby attractions. We loved our visit so much and highly recommend staying here. Luis was an awesome and accommodating host. He was a wealth of knowledge about the area and modified the breakfast to meet my wife's gluten-free needs. Recommendations were on-point, and the property gave a secluded, jungle feeling.

Off street parking was not really available due to resurfacing project and steep break over angle to Luis' driveway. Hopefully, Luis will be able to modify his driveway approach to fix this one the street project is done.

The host is exceptional. Extremely nice and knowledgeable; we learned a lot just by chatting with him. He gave us an awesome breakfast in the morning; one of the best I’ve ever had (and I am quite the breakfast connoisseur). 😅

You are in the middle of the jungle, so there are animal noises and bugs. It didn’t bother us because we figured it would be like that, but just be aware if that is something you don’t want to put up with.
