We stayed in Cabin Quetzel which we really loved and were pleased we booked. It was very quiet, peaceful, spacious and private and we ended up spending time enjoying the hammock in the screened kitchen area and just relaxing in the cabin - something we rarely do but after a few weeks of travelling we needed. Having a kitchen with a large fridge freezer was great for making our own drinks etc. We were concerned about reviews of noise in this room, and whilst in the morning you could hear the odd vehicle most of the noise was masked out by the fans in the room so it didn't bother us. The hotel is at one end of the most beautiful street in the city so we were pleased with the location, and it was about 10-15 minutes into the more hectic center. We preferred being slightly out of the middle - it felt quite an up-market area. The lack of air con in the room wasn't a problem in early march - the fans provided were good. We parked our car right next to the Cabin so that was easy from a luggage perspective.

The pool had a lot of leaves in despite being cleaned in the morning so we didn't use that. Breakfast was fine but nothing special - continental only, nothing cooked (no eggs etc). Welcome on arrival felt a little impersonal - as did all interaction with staff - and it would have been helpful in cabin quetzel to be shown where light switches etc where since there were many in strange places! The sound and light show on the convent opposite the hotel doesn't operate on a monday night - if only the staff had told us this then we'd have gone on the sunday night so the lack of information meant we missed this. Lots of websites says it runs nightly but that isn't true.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! From the reception facing a lovely garden with a small pool to our room which was big, nice, with comfortable bed and bathroom (perhaps the only area of a bit lower standard). Staff was efficient and very helpful in providing info and a city map. The hotel has its own parking - very convenient. Breakfast was just ok. The hotel is 15’ walk from the main square with a cathedral - the best is a street (Calz. de Los Frailes) leading to the square which has a number of incredibly beautiful restaurants and shops, all arranged with a lot, a lot of style, certainly worth having a drink and listening to live music in one of them…

What an absolutely charming place! We really loved our stay at Casa Quetzal, we had a beautiful suite with its own huge kitchen enclosed terrace area with hammock which was absolutely ideal for our little baby to crawl around it. It was a really lovely room in traditional materials, with very tastful touches and design. lovely bathroom too! The highlight of our stay at Casa Quetzal was its absolutely enchanting garden courtyards, brimming with beautiful rich green plants, a little pool, flowers and mobiles- such lovely seating areas in the main and rear courtyard to relax and enjoy the atomosphere. you're in for a treat! The location is also great, right next to the Franciscan monestry and short walk to the main areas. Charming hotel, friendly staff and excellent value for money- definitely recommend!

Overall we really loved our stay here, but if pushed there were a few things that could have been improved - the kitchenware in our kitchen area needed a clean before we could use it - the shower water pressure was a little weak and needed a long time to heat up (you need to persist!) - The hotel itself is very tranquil however if you're sensitive to noise, you might want to consider earplugs for the dogs in the streets beyond who do a bit of barking at night

Extreme friendly, attentive and forecoming staff. Well equipped, large room. Even had a fridge, which we didn’t get in high priced modern hotels before. The best is the inner garden and the immediate sense of tranquility once you step into the courtyard. The hotel has its own parking, which is also camera monitored! Good breakfast and we had a refill of coffee, bread and pastries. The fact that the room furniture isn’t my style at all, is more than made up by the zen feeling and inner tranquility you get. Too bad I had only booked for one night.

Absolutely nothing! Everything was perfect!

The location is GREAT, an absolute gem! Staff was very nice and welcoming too. The AC worked well. Room was cleaned everyday. Beautiful garden.

The bathroom/shower was difficult to get to. The sink was also a bit far. The rooms are all around on one floor and therefore the window of the bathroom and your room door gives onto the main square. Bit awkard when you're in the toilet. Prepare for LOTS of mosquitoes!! And a spider here and there. Breakfast was extremely basic continental.

Charming hotel with lush gardens. Not ‘high luxury’ but everything we needed, and well maintained, for a good price. Perfect location next to a square with a few restaurants close by and a playground which was great for our 2 year old. We had a car which is recommend in order to visit cenotes and different parts of town. A few spots are available at the property but parking on street was easy. Felt very safe. Staff were all very friendly and helpful with a good demeanor. I have some basic Spanish so this probably helped. Would recommend and return.

It was a little noisy at times, best to ask for a room away from the street (though it’s not a very busy road) and some neighboring dogs but I’m sure this could be an issue anywhere in town.

Perfect location next to the convent (free video projection show at night), a short stroll from the other main sights and lots of small shops, restaurants & cafes. The hotel has a beautiful garden, where a very good breakfast is served in the mornings. Rooms are large, well decorated and very comfortable. The staff is great and helpful; especially the cheerful breakfast crew made our mornings!

This place is so beautiful! We stayed for two nights with our kids. The garden is gorgeous, the staff very friendly, and the breakfast was very nice. They even packed us a to-go breakfast, so we could leave early to Chichen Itza. The location is great, next to nice restaurants and the convent (the light show is great at 21h in Spanish and 21:30h in English). Valladolid is a gem of a town and I recommend you spend 2-3 days there.

The only complaint we have is that our room was quite noisy since it was on the side of the road and we could hear cars and motorcycles all night. If you're a light sleeper like I am, ask for a room in the back.

Beautiful courtyard garden, with plenty of spots to enjoy the view. Excellent location. Good size bedroom and bathroom, with private patio and seating. Decent breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit, yoghurt, granola, breads), although I would have liked something else - perhaps eggs.

The shower water pressure and temperature meant I didn’t want to / struggled to wash my hair! This was okay for 2 nights but would have been an issue for longer.

The location is fantastic: on walking distance from the famous Calz. De Los Frailles. But when you enter the Casa it is like a green, serene oasis. We had an enormous room, really high ceiling, comfortable bed. The pool is a plus, the beautiful Mexican decorations, kind staff,...

We had a room on the street side, so it was noisy at first, but after 10 pm it was much quieter. We didn't know how to work the shower to get warm water, so we had a cold shower.
