Dar Ness was very comfortable. Beautiful large room, high azure-blue ceiling, big comfy double and single for our son, ceramic tiled bathroom with copper sink and powerful hot shower (shower point at waist height for some reason). Beds made up every day and very clean. The host is Mourad, big breakfast of pancake, croissant, coffee, breads and jams, and instead of a front door key he is there like Mr Ben's shopkeeper within seconds of knocking, which gave a feeling of security, not that we saw anything to worry us in our Easter 6 day stay in Essaouira. One of the best things about Dar Ness is it is just 500m from the Port Parking, and the 300 Dhiram airport-taxi-driver Dar Ness arranged for us walked us across Place Moulay Hassan, then it's about 10m up a little covered street. Coming back we got a Petit Taxi from the rank, just 150 Dhiram. There was a 25 Dhiram per-person-per-day tax at check-out, but this was mentioned on Booking. We'd browsed many of the other Riads on Booking, for sure some where a bit plusher and more central to the two main market streets and restaurants, but only a few hundred yards, and it was quite nice to get out of that at the end of a day's haggling. Also right next to Taros bar, and Azur Spa. A great 6 day holiday of surfing, spa and eating out - Carvanne was amazing, also Adwak, Chez Omar, Cargo, Adwak, Silvestros and La Cle de Voute. Highly recommended.

The place is really nice, and the location is perfect. The service was excellent, especially a guy named Moustapha, who was really nice and helpful. He helped us carry our stuff to the taxi. Everything was great, and all the staff working there are friendly. I high recommended it.

Lovely Riad in the centre of everything. 5 mins walk to the Skala and also 10 mins to the beach. Staff very friendly and the rooms are nice. Breakfast is served for a long stretch of time 9-12 am, and is French style. Lovely views from the top roof terrace. Host arranged for a taxi transfer from the Riad to Marrakech and was all relaxed and seamless. Staff very accommodating and smiles and make you fell at ease.

This is not the Riad' s fault or responsibility as we had a lovely 2 nights stay, but the 2 nights we stayed there was loud music playing next-door until 2 am so, either join the party or bring some ear plugs! Mind you, may just have been these 2 nights.

Central position and helpful staff

Shower hose leaks, no plugs. Internet only works in central area, not in the bedroom.

Dar Ness was just as described and shown - immaculate and well-appointed rooms surrounding a beautiful courtyard. We had two rooms booked, both of which were spacious with high quality, comfortable bedding and beautiful Moroccan tiled bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely, as were the friendly helpful staff. There was space to leave luggage after check-out if you need to wait for transportation. The location is excellent, the entry tucked away in an alleyway off a bustling square, close to the sea, and surrounded by many restaurants and stores. It was the perfect spot to spend a couple of days exploring Essaouira. There was a rooftop with tables and chairs to enjoy a birdseye view, and we enjoyed being able to visit this space.

The only issue we encountered was the noise at night - but I guess this is part of booking a place so close to the centre of the action! Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, but don’t rule out Dar Ness for great value in Essaouira.

Dar Ness looked exactly as it does in the photos. My room was beautiful with lots of air and light. The position, 10 metres along the "secret" alleyway to the main square was perfect either during the day and evening. Dar Ness really has a family run feel.."like being at home"

For me not a problem, however some people may not like the quite loud lively atmosphere of music and singing lasting sometimes past midnight which infused the air like a good pot of tea! For me...I liked the noise...it added to the experience.

Great location next to the Skala walls on the edge of the medina, next to the big main square and old port. Good 24hr staffing for access, excellent breakfast. Room was attractively decorated and clean. Wonderful roof terrace for evening sunset drinks and breakfast which was generous with delicious little croissants, meloui/msemen and fresh baguettes, fresh orange juice and tea, served between 9am-12pm - we appreciated being allowed a later relaxed start to the day and checkout by midday. Excellent value, would stay again.

Not an issue for us but agree with other reviews re noise from the Taros club next door - we stayed in Thleta room on the first floor so a bit away from the noise, and came armed just in case with earplugs after reading reviews! On a Monday night it quietened around 1am so not too bad. On the plus side - great music and club so you may as well go with the flow and enjoy it!

I had an incredible stay at Dar ness , located in the heart of the ancient Medina . the staff were exceptionally welcoming and always ready to assist. The riad itself is a true gem, with stunning architecture that takes you on a journey back in time. Each room is beautifully detailed, and the entire place was clean and peaceful. I highly recommend this riad for anyone looking to experience the authentic charm of Mogador

Shower was nice but not really relaxing given that the shower head is at hip height. You need to shower by holding it in your hand at all times.

Excellent location, beautiful rooms, tasty breakfast, great value for money. Amazing people! Very kind and helpful, and we really appreciated everything they did for us and that they were always with a smile!

- We were woken up by prayers through megaphone at 4:30 a.m. (which is not really the Dar's decision..) - We found some dirty spots in the towels/sheets, but we have to admit this was also the case in other places we stayed at Morocco
