Location, value, building, security.

The receptionst knew only about the medina in Fez (apparently), b/c even after using her phone to do google searches she wasn't able to answer our questions about where we could find decent architectural building(not modern, but traditional) We had read on Lonely Planet about the old jewish cartier, with building about 500 years old but the had no idea. Doing some research ourselves, it turns out that that area was.... on the same street with the hotel's name as well: Merinides. Not that it was much to look at, mind you, after all :)

Here's a review you could use: "The hotel was wonderful, offering a beautiful view and a spacious, air-conditioned room that was impeccably clean and equipped with excellent facilities. The reception staff and waiters were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay very enjoyable.

I had an unfortunate experience with a staff member by the swimming pool. Despite being a guest at the hotel, I was not allowed to swim because, as a Moroccan, he assumed I was only there for a drink or a meal. It's disappointing that he didn't expect someone like me to be a guest. I would suggest that the hotel ensures their staff are aware of who is staying in the hotel to avoid such misunderstandings in the future."

I normally spend 10-20€ on lodging, so this was a major upgrade for me. I'm getting reimbursed the 73€ (one person, mid-January, with breakfast). The room came with lots of upscale amenities: panoramic city view, 2 double beds, climate control, refrigerator, TV with channels in various languages, shower supplies, guarded parking, big outdoor swimming pool, elaborate breakfast buffet, noon checkout. All are potentially enjoyable although it's far more than I look for in a hotel. If you like this stuff, you'll love Mérinides.

Water pressure in my room (215) was minimal, making for an unrewarding shower,

We traveled by motorcycle and stayed at this hotel – everything was absolutely perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We especially appreciated the safe parking and the peaceful surroundings, which made for a relaxing stay after a long ride. Highly recommended for anyone traveling through the area – whether on two wheels or four!

Location, view on the city, staff, and delicious breakfast. We were welcomed with a fruit basket and chilled water.

The staff were very friendly, and a great view of the pool and the city of Fes. Wonderfully peaceful and close to the city centre — just an 8-minute drive away.

The view was really nice, they had a nice swimming pool and other amenities. All the staff were very friendly also.

They should provide an iron and also some more options at breakfast.

the location is great with a lovely view of the medina. the pool and breakfast were also good. some reviews mentioned the breakfast was poor but it was lovely and the service was great. they had someone making fresh omelettes and Moroccan pancakes (Malawi) and Harcha. they made a tagine of shakshuka for us on request as well. they had fruit, pastries, cereals etc like any other continental breakfast.

the rooms are nice but could do with an update/refurb, they are a little old/outdated and the toilet seat was not secure etc but nothing major that would stop me from staying here again.

Excellent hotel, ideally located offering superb view over the old city. Available and professional staff at all times. The swimming pool helped surviving the 39°.

The bar with panoramic view is great, but the cocktails are rally below par ofr such a place, and the staff seems to be out of touch totally.

It's was so fine and agréable confortabl Holidays. Thanks for service room and personal in reception and Restaurant. Hope to return soon.
