This is a beautiful small traditional Riad with spacious rooms. I loved my room - good air con, comfortable bed, hot water, beautiful decor and there was a fridge - yay! Good sheets and towels. And a window opening onto the inner courtyard of the Riad, like many Riads.Located minutes walk into the souk and restaurants, safe and easy to find ( note, it's Shama, not Chama), Reda, the manager, is excellent at his job and gives his full attention to his guests. He is always available and very helpful. Good breakfast - fried eggs, different breads etc, fresh orange juice. Great place to stay.

I stayed alone the first day. First of all, the location of the hotel is very close to everywhere. The cleaning was good. The hotel's breakfast was delicious. But the most important element that made my stay in Fez more enjoyable was Mr. Reda. I hope I'm not spelling his name wrong. He helped me with everything and I could reach him 24/7 whenever I needed help. If I come to Fez again, I will definitely stay at this hotel. I recommend it to everyone, it is a nice address for a safe holiday.

The cleaning was good but there were a lot of ants. I think a solution should be found for this.

The riad has a great location, excellent service, nice atmosphere. If you like authentic place and have no high expectations, it is the place to stay. As you can read from many comments, the host accommodates all the requests. For example, I needed a surprise cake for a birthday. We were all very happy to stay in Shama, and felt super welcomed and cared for. I have a slight anxiety disorder, but I felt always safe around Fes as I knew I can contact Reda, the host, in any case.

Both positive and many negative comments are true. But considering the price, I have no rights to complain. It is possible to read out something else from the introduction, but it does not matter. E.g you can buy fantastic leather (!) slippers (almost for nothing) from the market, you can fill the minibar (read: empty mini refrigerator) yourself etc.

This is a good choice of riad from which to explore Fes. It is well located on the edge of the Medina, but with larger roads nearby, with small restaurants and shops. The riad itself is run by the very hardworking Rada who was wonderful, answering questions, organising a wonderful meal at a sister Riad, and generally making everyone as happy and comfortable as possible. The room was surprisingly large, with excellent seating as well as a king size bed. It was clean and warm. It is also excellent value, and we would be happy to return to explore more of Fes.

The room was lovely, as was the guest house overall. Nice and clean with a huge bed and good WiFi. The guest house is located on the starting street of the Medina, so you'll be in the market very quickly. Staff where very helpful, gave me his phone number if I needed help or got lost. And the complimentary breakfast was plentiful, which was good when you have to get up for the train.

It's not clearly marked on the outside of the building, so finding it the first time was tricky. And the building is a mezzanine, so if there are other guests having an early breakfast you will hear them from your room. And the shower door was broken so I had to suck in the gut to squeeze into the shower.

Great safe location at the entrance to the Medina .. received an amazing welcome from all the staff. Reda is exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to help us with any requests.

What we liked most was the warmth and service of Reda, our host. As well as his staff that kept the facility clean at all times. Reda has been kind and helpful from the first instant we arrived. Giving us his direct phone number for any questions or help we may need during our stay. His human touch to our stay is what made it wonderful. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Shama in Fez. My partner and I felt incredibly welcomed from the moment we arrived. Reda was an exceptional host — warm, helpful, and always available to assist us with anything we needed, from recommendations to arranging transportation. The riad itself is beautifully decorated, peaceful, and clean. It’s located in a great spot in the medina, close enough to explore but tucked away from the noise.

I thought looking at the picture, while booking, looked good, but so cheap, where was a catch? There isn't one! Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed! A beautiful gem with Maroccan vibes, close to Blue Gate (all the excursion depart from there) and Medina, but so quiet. The staff, Asma and Reda, are a heart of that charming riad! So kind and helpful, we felt like they were our family! Especially Asma❤️, always smiling, hugging, advising about places and prices. Reda as a guy couldn't be so affectionate 😉, but also A star! They deserved a rise for how they are dealing with customers. They are the reason I would always come back. The beds are the most comfy in a whole marocco😁 Everything is extremely clean, our clothes were washed, when asked. There's a fridge in a room. A warm AC great for a winter stay. The breakfast? O my gosh, we could never finish that, you name it, you have it. The best value for a price! The best memories from Marocco!

There are a few flaws, peeling paint in a bathroom, they could do with a shelf or a small rack for a bathroom accessories, but really for that price in such atmosfere you cannot complain about anything. We managed fine, but I think a bar with a few hangers in a cupboard wouldn't hurt for a longer stay.

Our host was super friendly and helpful, the room was a decent size and it was great having a private bathroom. But the host really made it 10/10, by wanting to go above and beyond for us during our stay

As there are only two tables to sit at for breakfast, it might be worth scheduling breakfast per room to avoid people having to wait on others. This didn’t happen to us, but there was another couple that had to wait a little bit as the tables were full.
