Riad alwane will forever have a special place in my heart. First time being in Morocco and got to stay in this beautiful boutique riad. I’d say for the price you are paying you are getting your moneys worth, with a lovely sun top terrace to lay and down stairs with a pool that was too cool for us to go on but lovely for the atheistic. You have a yummy breakfast every morning with the sun shining down on you.

The location. It was quite hard to find once we first arrived. However our taxi driver located us to the right alley way. On google maps this won’t work so maybe ask the driver for help or contact riad. It is generally safe with the locals in the streets and is only a 15/20 minute walk to the souks. It’s a 20 minute walk away from main attraction (Ben youseff ) and atay cafe.

The property is in the middle of the historical medina of Marrakesh, it is a 15-20min walk from the souls, and also to the Jardin Majorelle. It is well located, and access is fairly straightforward with google maps. The room is spacious and well suited for a family of four, with a large private bathroom. The breakfast offer is great, you get a large selection of foods for a decent price. The property is not a luxurious hotel, but is definitely a historical and real experience of living in a Riad. It is well kept and cleaned daily. The staff are friendly and helpful for any queries. Arabic is easier to communicate but English, French is good too.

The access to the property is a bit difficult the first few times as a taxi cannot drop you directly at the doors due to the small size of the alleys. If you use google maps, and look at the street signs for Riad Alwane (yellow sign) then you can find your way, just be careful not to miss a turn.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riad Alwane! A big shout-out to Nordin, Aasim, and the rest of the staff for being so welcoming and helpful at all times. Also, a huge thanks to their friend Rashid for driving us wherever we needed to go without any issues. Without these amazing people, our trip would have been a bit more challenging, as the streets can be quite confusing. The only issue I encountered was with the payment—Booking.com either didn’t process it or there was an issue, so I had to pay in cash when I thought it was already covered. Overall, our stay at Riad Alwane was great, and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

It was cosy, room was clean and the staff were excellent. Such a friendly vibe off the place. The breakfast was lovely and had great variety.

The location seemed a bit out of the way. 25 minute walk walk from most sights. Do NOT take directional advice from anyone that you did not ask for, we were harassed and threatened twice within the first two days by the same two young lads (politely tell the people to F off and do not offer your money). That being said the location felt safer and safer as the days went on. Beware the morning chirps of the birds! And maybe the short warm water duration in the shower :)

Lovely quiet Riad near the medina. Staff were very helpful planning our next travel destination transport with us and booking it. They even made us a very early breakfast to accommodate our early travel plans. Breakfast was great.

Location is tricky but Google maps will get you there. Definitely look for landmarks when out to help get you back. Fitted bedsheet was like sleeping on sandpaper - so many worn bobbles. I am confident the staff would have changed these if asked but when it's late and you are tired you just do not want nor need the hassle. Bedsheets in friends room were reportedly comfortable.

The riad was very beautiful, peaceful and well-maintained. I like the fact that its secure and staff were very friendly. Driver from the airport called them around 12mn to pick me up at nearby stop since property is in the middle of the souk and taxis couldn’t get in that narrow road, I forgot the staff name but he was very nice and kind to pick me up at that area in the middle of the night. My card didn’t work for payment, I tried to withdraw from the machine the next day but couldn’t so Aziz took me to an ATM and helped. That was above and beyond in hospitality. Free breakfast was offered, coffee was really great. Rooftop patio is really nice considering the weather, could use a little tan.

The Riad itself was fantastic. It's beautiful on the inside. The beds were very comfy (by Morocco standards vs. the US) and the bathtub was a welcome perk. The people were friendly and helped us navigate an airport transfer for a reasonable price. It also had an indoor pool which was fantastic.

It's kind of hidden. Using the maps app will not get you there. It's also in the "old" city, so we had to walk quite a distance and struggled to find the Riad. However, once we found it, everything was great.

– Cleaned daily and thoroughly by three nice and respectful people – Quite beautiful on the inside, especially the court part – When we had a bad experience on our way to the riad, the manager was able to deescalate the situation

– The neighborhood is really poor, more so than the rest of the medina. Make sure to always get home during daylight hours or be prepared to get followed by (groups of) people that’ll try to provide little services or just beg for money directly, and intensely. – We could hear everything through the walls and the plexiglass of the winter garden. – When we paid the city tax and asked for a receipt, they would first make fun of it, then look through several drawers, and eventually scribble some sentences in arabic on a notepad. We later found out that it‘s quite common to not provide receipts in Morocco but I still feel like a request like that should be handled a lot more professionally

Beautiful Riad with a really nice rooftop and refreshing pool. The guy working there at evening/ night helped us with everything, from booking taxi to explaining to us the city and the streets. He made us feel safe coming back to the riad in the evening. The breakfast was also very nice, good variation and good price.

The location felt unsafe for us 2 girls, it was difficult to find the riad and the people outside followed us to the riad to then ask for money.

The hosts are so hospitable and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was superb, from welcoming us when we returned for the day, or preparing breakfast and dinner to accommodate our schedule, and bringing us tea in the evening. We had to leave early one morning before breakfast and they even prepared some food to-go for us! The dinners here are amazing and we highly recommend! Our favorite dish of the trip was prepared by the riad: the beef with figs!

As other travelers have posted, the riad is 25-minute walk from the Medina. Vehicles cannot fit down the road of the riad, but they will get you within a two-minute walk. The neighborhood looks a little sketchy, but we felt safe. The locals in that area sometimes offered to help us or hailed us as we walked by. There are a lot of children playing in the streets in this area, I think that's a good sign it's more on the safe side.
