The location is excellent, just steps from Jemaa el-Fnaa, right in the heart of the Medina. Step outside and you’re immersed in the energy of Marrakech, which is perfect for people who want to explore the old city. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious and came with a kettle, coffee, and basic amenities. I was welcomed with a refreshing glass of orange juice, which was a nice touch and at home feeling.

That said, the entrance is quite hard to find, the door is small and inside the Medina. It took me about 10 minutes to locate it while dragging a heavy suitcase, asking locals for directions. One surprising moment: I returned to my room to find a cat sleeping on the bed. It seems a small window had been left open, allowing the cat to come and go. I don't dislike cats, but it felt a bit uncomfortable. The room was also quite dim, which made it difficult to work on a laptop. If you're looking for a local, immersive Medina experience, this place has charm—and for those wanting to experience a riad at a reasonable price, it could be a nice choice.

Riad Simon is a perfect choice in every way! The riad is in a great location, and the Marrakesh atmosphere hits you the moment you step outside. The main square is close by, and you’re literally in the heart of the Medina. The place itself is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. There’s also a large rooftop terrace. Simon, the owner, is a very friendly, kind, and welcoming person. He’s very flexible, you can talk to him about anything, and he’s always ready to help. On top of that, he has a cat called “Sisi” who, surprisingly really good at playing football 😀 I can recommend this accommodation to anyone. Naturally, since it’s in the middle of the Medina, it can sometimes be noisy, but that’s true for all of Marrakesh, as the city lives 24/7. So you really can’t go wrong with this place—it’s a perfect option for solo travelers, couples, or even families.

Riad Simon was a lovely place to stay in Marrakech. Its in the Medina, a short walk away from the famous square but easy to find as it's on a main alley. Simon and his staff are so welcoming - while allowing you your privacy. My friends stayed at a Riad which looked much more luxurious online but felt a little soulless when you got there. Riad Simon is small with a roof terrace for breakfast and to relax. Simon told me that he wanted his guests to feel at home and I certainly did. He was very helpful - he helped me buy a SIM card from a local seller when I lost part of the one I bought at the airport and printed off boarding passes the day l left. Nb get to the airport in plenty of time with printed boarding cards - the wait to get through to the gate is unbelievably long.

I can't complain at all. The price was decent - the hospitality wonderful and it's located in the craziness of the Medina. Breakfast was very filling and served with grace.

Right in the middle of the bustling Medina, you open the door into a tranquil space. I was welcomed with a cold drink and waited for a short while for my air-conditioned room to get cleaned, which was then done daily. Breakfast was big and delicious and served on the room terrace with the cat and a tortoise for company. Hot water and toiletries on the compact bathroom, and this is the first place where I've had a safe in my room.

It's not really a dislike, but I mentioned to Simon that I had got a fright when the people above me dropped something heavy. He immediately offered me a different room and made sure that I was comfortable. You can hear people talking and moving about, but it's not bad. The bed was a little firm but still comfortable.

We were immediately made to feel at home by Simon, a charming and helpful host. From the welcoming mint tea and biscuits on the rooftop terrace when we arrived to the farewell taxi, we could not have been better looked after. We loved our modest room with an amazingly comfortable bed. Breakfast at a very small extra cost, was superb every day - we particularly liked the coffee mildly spiced to Simon's grandmother's recipe. This is about as far from a commercial western hotel as you could imagine, and so much the better for it. It is located smack in the middle of the bustling Medina, a five minute walk along the crowded street to the main square of Jemaa el Fnaa, the historic centre of the city, where there is food, entertainment, people-watching.

Simon was great. He kept in touch ahead of my arrival and arranged a complimentary transfer for me However, the driver was late (not Simon’s fault) so I did waste about 1 hour waiting at the airport. I would probably have preferred just to take a taxi from the airport. As with all Riads in the Medina taxis can only going in very early in the morning or late at night so expect to walk with your suitcase to the Riad. Simon helped me with my suitcase (completely unnecessary tbh but he insisted) to my return transfer but I also could’ve taken a taxi. Simon was super helpful. I loved all the important information and tips he gave me about Marrakech, the Riad and the Medina on arrival. Simon and his team were great. Really nice breakfast and my room was cleaned everyday. I felt welcome and safe there.

Riad Simon is in an excellent location! Easy to go exploring the Medina on your own and also close to the main meeting spot for organized day trips. We felt safe despite the fact the area is very busy especially at night. It’s incredible how all your senses are on overload in the Medina and you come home to the riad and it is peaceful and serene. Simon, the family owner, is kind, friendly, and genuine. The value for your money at this property is exceptional. We were worried that something would be wrong since it was such a good price, but instead it’s just excellent marketing and business practice.

The bed is pretty firm, not a deal breaker at all just a consideration if that’s something you consider in booking. The shower is a bit of a challenge and needs a few adjustments but was functional.

We stayed at Riad Simon for a total of 4 nights, two of us. The location couldn’t be better if you want to explore the Bazaar and Medina of Marrakech. As soon as you step outside the door, you're already on the paths of the Souk, yet at night you hardly hear anything. The bus from the airport stops just a 10-minute walk from the Riad, and the entrance is easy to find. The rooms have everything you need, and they are cleaned every day. Simon is extremely friendly and made us feel like we were at home. Whether it was tips, help with bookings, or a taxi transfer, he was always there for all our needs. We will definitely return the next time we are in Marrakech! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Simon - a peaceful oasis within the heart of Marrakech. The minute you step through the door, Riad Simon offers calm and tranquility, and beautiful decor! It's in an excellent location only a few minutes from the main square. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with excellent hot showers! The roof terrace is a great area for bringing in evening food or for breakfast - the breakfast for 4 euro is excellent value. We loved sitting and having breakfast on the terrace each morning! Simon and the ladies at the Riad are excellent - very friendly and accommodating and always on hand if you need anything. Room are cleaned and aired daily with beds made and towels changed which was wonderful. Highly recommend for a fantastic stay!

One thing to be aware of - noise travels within the Riad from the roof terrace to the rooms below - unfortunately there were some noisier guests during our stay which isn't the Riads fault, but the only suggestion we would have would be to suggest "quiet hours" within the Riad to ask people to be more conscious of noise between, for example, 10pm and 8am.

Clean and tidy riad three minutes walk from Jemaa el Fnaa. I stayed for four nights and the host, Simon, could not have been more helpful. Tea and sweet treats on arrival along with various WhatsApp messages with local recommendations - from banking and restaurants to hammams and monuments - I used some of these and can recommend them also. Simon also arranged a taxi to and from airport which was very helpful. Breakfast was good and only €4. All in-all, a great experience and I hope to return!

Communal space could have been bigger but I guess riads are not hotels!
