We were in the heart of Kathmandu in a property that obviously is authentic and has been a quality hotel for some time. It is showing its age and is not a 5 star facility. But, it is comfortable, the food there is very good, the staff is excellent and the facility is well managed. I recommend it for people who are willing to enjoy the history and location and are not expecting pretentiousness in their hotel. It is also a spot in the city with a nice private courtyard away from the motor scooters and crowds; a very nice, quiet place to kick back and enjoy your favorite beverage and some snacks in comfort with great service.

The facility is getting older and some of the maintenance on the exterior has been neglected, mainly at the roof level. The facility has excellent "bones" and is ripe for an investor to renovate and elevate the hotel to a top quality destination IMHO.

Love the aesthetics of the whole place. The architecture looks like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. The service staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and comfortable. Location is good - Away from the hustle and bustle of the Kathmandu city centre, yet within a 10 to 15 minutes walk to the attractions in the area.

I was surprised that the hotel didn't have a lift nor air-conditioning in the room. Our room was on the 4th floor and have to climb the stairs at least twice a day. Would be good to have known this fact earlier. Fortunately the weather was a bit cool (about 22 C) otherwise it could be too warm. The basic amenities could be improved, like providing proper body wash and shampoo. The street in front of the hotel needs to be improved as it was muddy with uneven surface.

It is a gorgeous large hotel with a generous garden. The architecture is vintage Nepali traditional style even though it is a modern construction. The room was large and cozy. They gave us a heater because it was almost 10 deg C at nights. The staff is friendly and helpful and very cooperative. The in house dining is incredibly tasty and charmingly served. Don't miss eating the thali there. You will come back for it again and again! We were also offered a free 1.5 hour heritage walk facility and free morning yoga on the terrace during our stay! The hotel is a short walk from the main Thamel market road as well as the Garden of Dreams.

Nothing! We had a wonderful stay and will certainly choose to come back here when we are in Kathmandu again.

A beautiful building. Really beautiful. It has a style and a soul. If you like traditional Nepalese buildings, and everybody does, you will love this one. Outstanding staff. High personal culture, great attire, naturally smiling, always very helpful. Excellent food that warrants a separate paragraph. Fresh and tasty. Served in a relaxing, quiet restaurant. It was so good that we never went for any street food even though street food was one of the things "we had to do". Perfect location. A short walk to Durbar Square with the Asan Bazar halfway through. You have all the Kathmandu noise and beauty just around the corner, and it's so quiet inside (our room window faced the inner courtyard). Some people may not like the smell of old wooden wardrobes in the rooms. I've found it charming.

I must say, after traveling 10years to Nepal regularly, staying in different places, this hotel was an amazing positive surprise to me. Build in authentic Nevari style, with so nice and professional stuff, made it my new favorite hotel in Kathmandu! Its central, though build in such a way its very quiet with the rooms turned towards the courtyard. Complimentary yoga and walk was just a cherry on the top. It was best value for money in last few years that I encountered ❤️‍🔥 ✨Love their eco butique approach with no TV!

If staying longer than 4 days the breakfast can become little repetitive, however I didnt mind. Nothing to complain about!

The hotel architecture is impressive, the atmosphere magical. Breakfast was a treat, not exuberant but with good variety, also breakfast area makes it even more desirable. Staff was extremely helpful with all sorts of things, including printing out important documents for us free of charge. Excellent people and place.

We had dinner at the hotel and it took a very long while, perhaps because it was low season and there weren't many people. It would have been ok if the waiting service made it more amenable by engaging a bit more or even offering some beer simple snacks to make the time more passable. Also, the portions we quite small and this didn't add to the overall experience. Other than this, nothing everything else was fine.

It's an experience staying here, which is why I booked it in the first place. It fulfilled my expectation in that regards. We took some really nice pictures here. The staff is friendly and helpful.

It would have been better if the hotel had an actual temple history or something like that, not just purpose built like so. It is kind of expected, but there is no comfort in this hotel. The hotel says they are very eco-friendly, so they ask us to use everything sparingly, don't ask for extra towels, try not to ask for a heater, etc. It just felt like an excuse for saving money for them, but hey, in the end they provided us with whatever we asked for, and we didn't have to brow-beat them into submission for it either. The breakfast staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the food was okay, but like I said, it was okay. In Nepal, during the 5 days staying there, we did not manage to have a wow meal, unfortunately.

After trekking in the Himalayas for 3 weeks staying at Kantipur Temple House felt like pure luxury. For us it was the perfect mix of tradition and modernity. Our room on the third floor was spacious, clean and quiet. We had endless hot water, electricity and super comfortable beds. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved the continental breakfast as well as a delicious dinner in the atmospheric hotel restaurant - can highly recommend that! The location on a quiet backstreet between Durbar Square and Thamel was ideal. We appreciated the hotel´s plastic free policy and enjoyed participating in the two activities offered by the hotel for free: a city walk and yoga class.

This hotel was special because of the outstanding helpfulness of the staff who seemed genuinly interested in the welfare of me and my travel companion. Nothing was too much trouble. Documents were printed for me, laundry arrangements made and I was even provided with a hair drier to dry out my hiking boots! After i had checked out on my final day and returned to pick up my baggage and wait for a taxi, I was offered a bed to get some rest before my long journey home. How good is that? Other good things about the hotel are 1) fabulous architectural design 2) located in a central location buzzing ith life 3) unlimited drinking water supplied automatically in a jug at your bedside and 4) they have a pretty good chef who can produce some interesting tasty meals.

They dont have an esspresso coffee machine or a swimming pool or a sauna.

The hotel itself is a classic Nepal building that is memorably designed. The location is great, just enough out of the hustle bustle of the Tamil, but very close walking distance to everything you would want to be close to. The rooms are lovely and the staff are just wonderful.

The price was a bit on the high end compared to other properties, yet there is something quite special about this place and the whole experience. Note that the wood floors are real wood, and the exposed brick walls are real brick. The incredibly professional and lovely Hotel staff and the special design of the place, which was quite unique.
