* The view isn't much from the window, as there is another building in the way. * The bathroom is a bit smaller. I am 5.5 feet and I was worried my head would hit the bathroom roof. * Some maintenance would be much appreciated - missing bulbs from our bedside lamps, toilet spray jet was leaking. Nothing deal-breaking but minor annoyances.

the property should make it much more clear that it is cash only!! This caused a delay for us on the morning of check out as they had a card machine on the front desk which will make a lot of customers assume card is accepted. The staff member also wasn’t aware the main hotel door had been unlocked all night and this shouldn’t have been made apparent to the hotel guests.

Well located and cheaper than other hotels on the same street. It looked just like the pictures. Quiet and comfortable. The staff are very helpful, the girl helped me book a taxi for the airport then helped me get the exact change to pay the driver and warned the driver not to try and overcharge me.

Bathroom was a bit dated. The card reader for paying was a bit hit and miss so you might need to pay in cash. But there's lots of ATMs nearby

This place felt like a home away from home. Located in a quiet alley in Thamel but only steps away from everything. The room was very nice, bright, and spacious. Heating worked very well. Sure it took a while for the warm water in the shower, but our stay at Grand Yak was been excellent - and it was due to the generosity and kindness of the staffs at the reception: Ms. Alpasha and Ms. Bhawani. They have been helpful, communicative, attentive. For sure they'll make your stay comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently located in Jyatha, close to Thamel the main tourist area, without being in the really crowded and noisy part of the area. The first room I was assigned was clean, but a bit dark because it had a small window facing the walls of the building itself, and the next day I was allocated a room with window without any problem. The rooms have a small fridge (with content against payment), tv, closet with hangers, comfortable bed. Rooms and linens are clean and well maintained. The hotel has a lift for the upper floors. The hotel offers the opportunity to store luggage and an early morning wake-up call. The staff of the hotel is friendly and cooperative.

Nothing besides the rather dark room, which was quickly solved by the hotel.

The staff at reception were always pleasant and smiley. I was always greeted kindly by them and enjoyed my conversations throughout my time at the grand Yak. Also very helpful with advice about my stay in Nepal. I stayed here twice during my Nepal trip. The location of the hotel is ideal for restaurants and bars in the Thamel area everything being a short walk. It isn't noisy at night either. Rooms are well maintained and well equipped with a mini bar if need be. Excellent value for money I thought. Thanks to the staff for the warm welcome!

Staff, especially Sapana who helped me with all my questions and needs. She helped finf an English speaking taxi driver who drove me to my pre-selected attractions. Location - walkable to Trammel and Durbar Square attractions. Free storage of my luggage when I visited Pokhara for 2 days

Restaurant across the road supply meals to the hotel are very slow and bring down Grand Yak - eat brekky out elsewhere. We waited over 45 mins for 1 breakfast & left after 1 hour when 2nd breakfast still hadn't arrived. None of ordered teas were delivered.

Room was clean, location is good near major attractions around Thamel st, but in a quiet street.

Staff were not that friendly, they looked indifferent to the customers. Elevator was broken, had to walk up to level 3

Very friendly staff. They upgraded us so we got a better room. Even heat and hot water in the room which is rare in the winter time in Kathmandu. Close to centrum. Would definitely recommend!
