Our stay at Kasthamandap Boutique Hotel in Thamel was flawless. Nestled in Kathmandu’s vibrant heart, the hotel offers tranquility amid the city’s buzz, with key sites like Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa nearby as well as minutes away from the vibrant nightlife of Thamel. The staff’s warm hospitality stood out— we felt instantly welcomed. They personalized our experience, sharing local tips, and ensuring every request was met with a smile. The rooms blend Nepali charm and modern luxury: hand-carved woodwork, plush bedding, rain showers, Breakfast was exceptional, which reminded me of home. Sustainability and culture shine here, with eco-friendly practices and decor honoring Nepal’s heritage. Complimentary perks like airport transfers and many others added value. Rating: 5/5 – A rare gem combining luxury, culture, and heartfelt service. Definitely will enjoy the stay here and will be back again.

Out of all the places we stayed during our trip in Nepal, this hotel was by far the best. On hearing that it was our last night in Kathmandu, Mr. Prabin at the reception warmly upgraded our room—he was the most welcoming, thoughtful, generous, and friendly person we met throughout the journey. He's honestly the biggest reason I’d recommend this hotel to everyone. The hotel itself is also fantastic—charming, elegant, full of Nepali character, yet super comfortable. Even though it’s located right in a lively area, the room was surprisingly quiet, and the bed was really comfy. It pretty much checked all the boxes for us. Only regret? We didn’t have enough time to enjoy the breakfast. I’ll definitely try it next time if I get the chance. Huge thanks again to the hotel and to Mr. Prabin!

Hotel is located in the heart of touristic area, about 10 min walk from Durbar square. A lot of shops and places to eat in the area. Very cosy boutique hotel, designed in authentic nepali style with carved dark wooden windows, furniture and even lamps in shape of stupas. Rooms are comfortable, decent size, and very clean. AC in the rooms. Elevator is available. Nice breakfast with selections of bread, coffee, eggs, fruits and pastry. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Manager Prabin have arranged my itinerary for the full stay - including city tour in Kathmandu, a trip to Pokhara with flights, stay and city sightseeing, and trekking tour. Everything was done with exceptional attention to details and care.

Please always use elevator. Keep in mind water pressure can be quite low, especially on the higher floors.

It was my second time in the hotel and not my last. There is a very professional but at the same time very relaxed and very cool atmosphere in the house. The staff is very attentive, friendly. It was particularly pleasant and always helpful for me to chat with the smart bhai, Dhawa Tamang. We shared our trekking experiences and after some problems with my guide, he warmly recommended his brother to me, them I would go on my next hike. The rooms are. very clean, beds comfortable and breakfast fantastic. From the rooftop you have a wonderful view of the city. Of course, because I'm very interested in art and architecture, I really enjoyed all the Newari details. Thank you Dhawa, thank you to ALL the other great people at the hotel for the great time. Omg everything about this boutique hotel is perfect, but the manager Prabin was the best! He made us feel like family and took excellent care of everything we asked for but also respected our wish to just explore Kathmandu without a guide. Breakfast was excellent with great coffee. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. You cannot beat the location. Really everything was just great and we would definitely stay here again!

The location was perfect for exploring Kathmandu. The hotel was in a quiet location but only a short distance from the bustle of Thamel. The manager, Prabin, could not have been more helpful. He gave us advice about where to visit, and arranged transport and a guide for us one day. He certainly made our stay feel like a home from home. The breakfasts were good and plentiful.

clean rooms, great location, the staff were absolutely lovely, especially the man who I assume was the manager. They upgraded my room for free, made me coffee, allowed me to change my booking due to my circumstances changing (I was travelling during the off season so I assume this was why), and the manager even helped me to get a taxi in the morning and waiting outside the hotel with me to help me work out which car it was and help me load my bags into the car. Absolutely would recommend. Good breakfast, gave me a packed breakfast when I was starting a day trip very early. Great hotel

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They all were so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond! The room was very clean and plenty of hot water . The decor was very traditional Nepalese. Breakfast had a good selection and was from 7am to 10am.

The staff is very friendly and helpful! When I arrived and checked in, they offered me a nice hot coffee and after a long day of trekking and running around, it was the perfect little gesture to make me feel more at home. The manager is ready and willing to help with any aspect of your trip, whether that means giving you advice for places to visit or organizing transportation anywhere you want to go. The room was very cozy and clean- there is an outlet right next to the bed, the aircon works very well and the hot water in the shower may take a minute to figure out but will get nice and hot! There is a breakfast served every morning that was very yummy and comforting.

The only thing this hotel does not have is a restaurant attached, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby (including right across the street) so I do not think it is a problem, This is a very nice place to stay in Kathmandu.

This is a wonderful little hotel in an alley just off the main hustle of Thamel. Everything was great - I had a room on the 5th floor and had a very quiet night there. The room was light and well equipped, the shower was hot with good pressure. There is a lift which was a big help with my huge luggage. The breakfast was tasty with quite a few choices. A special thank you to the amazing staff! They truly were so helpful and kind! All in all a great value for money, I spent a while looking for a place in Thamel and was happy to have finally chosen this hotel.
