The customer service and the food were beyond expectations, We had a welcome note and a bottle of wine in our room. The bathroom was very nice, except it seemed more designed for a man. The floor was heated, and it had a large tub, a rain shower, and double sinks. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. I would definitely stay there the next time I visit Amsterdam. The dinner and drinks in their restaurant were the best in town. The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of storage for clothing and shoes. There was also generous storage under the double sinks in the bathroom. The location was very good and in walking distance of several interesting museums and areas of town.
There was not much room to store suitcases The built-in magnifying mirror was placed very high in the mirror, and there was no easy way to shave legs safely in the shower. The furniture was too big and too much for the size of the room.. It looked very pretty but crowded. This would not deter me from staying there again. There are stairs to climb, so this hotel would not be suitable for the handicapped, but this part of Amsterdam has buildings that are all designed the same way over the last few hundred years.

Loved the location and the staff. A very comfortable and well appointed hotel.
Our room was pretty small and facing the back of the front building, but we booked last minute so realize that we didn't get the better options.

The front desk was very helpful in getting taxis for us and we really enjoyed sitting outside with wine and noshes even through it was a bit pricey. The bathroom had two sinks, which we appreciated. The room also had a bathtub, which was nice. We had a beautiful view of the canal as well. the location was excellent as it was near the 9 shopping streets. The decor was also very nice.
The room was small. The price was a bit high, for the room as well as for the food and drink there. Would have appreciated recognition for my birthday - as I celebrated my 60th there, and they knew it.

This is an excellent hotel in a quiet section of Amsterdam near the Nine Streets area. We loved staying in this area because it has so much more character than other parts of the city which are not as quaint. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were well appointed and thoroughly clean. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. There are many local restaurants close to the hotel, but the restaurant at the Ambassade is excellent and better than most in the area. I would stay there again and recommend it to my friends.
Our superior deluxe double room had a king bed, a dresser, 2 chairs and a small table but it was little tight.

Amazing canal views and location can't be beat. Easy walks to all the main sites or grab a tram to get further afield. Bit of a maze to get to the room but well worth all the little steps. The two story Grand Suite is simply lovely (even tho the staircase can be a little tricky). King bed is the largest I've ever seen in a hotel! Library bar is charming and the drinks were yummy.
No views from the Grand Suite bedroom. Bedroom felt a little like a cavern because unable to open shades; windows from other rooms are right there! Warm day heated the rooftop room so it took a while to cool down. Shower in bathroom is very, very small but functional. Breakfast is pricy for a pretty small buffet so I think they expect you to order off the menu. Wait staff does not like to be rushed when asking for the bill.

Everything was wonderful. Very clean bathroom, the gabled roof of the triple room was cozy and inviting, we had plenty of space and room in drawers so we didn't have to live out of the suitcases. Beds were soft, velux windows had blackout shades, dyson fans were provided in case the windows needed to be closed. Easy walking distance to Fabel, our fave friet place, and Lanskroon is just around the corner for fresh stroopwafels. The views from the windows were lovely. Especially loved listening to the rain on the roof at night. Breakfast was exceptional, I have many dietary restrictions and had plenty of options. Staff was top-notch.
We faced the canal and the inner courtyard, street was a little noisy, but the soundproofing was top notch once the windows were closed

The rooms were beautiful and clean. We had 3 rooms and they put us all on the same floor next to one another. It was a perfect set up. We loved the service and attention to detail the staff provided to us. The bellman greeted us so kindly and always remembered our youngest child's name. The library is a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring, the bartender was exceptional and incorporated stories into the drinks we ordered. Even for our kids! This is the only hotel we would come back to in Amsterdam! An absolute must.
We LOVED everything!

The view from our room overlooking the canal and the location were perfect. The staff was also exceptional - helpful in arranging plans (for eg canal cruise) and making suggestions. They were also very responsive through email communications prior to our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything we didn't like. We heard some people comment on finding the layout confusing, but that is because the hotel is made up of two restored canal houses which were built as intentionally narrow so that there are some winding halls (but there are elevators). We found it added to the charm.

I really liked the location of this hotel. Walking distance to most areas of interest to us on a beautiful canal. You are really get the authenticity of what Amsterdam has to offer from the hotels location. Would highly recommend. We needed a 3 single bed option for our room which sadly meant we could not opt for a canal view which would have been nice however, we still enjoyed the hotel and loved that it was a traditional build with the narrow staircases. They have done a wonderful job of converting all the buildings to make it into this wonderful hotel. The staff were all lovely and friendly.
I have stayed in many hotels and just found this is a little more expensive for a 4* than others around the world, even 5*. However, it was giving me the experiencing I was looking for in Amsterdam i.e. canal location so still chose to book it.

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the check-in staff at the Ambassade Hotel. Their friendly demeanor instantly set the tone for what turned out to be a remarkable stay. The check-in process was a breeze, with every detail meticulously explained to ensure my comfort and convenience throughout my time at the hotel. It was evident that guest satisfaction was a top priority for the staff, and their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Entering my room, I was immediately struck by its elegance and tranquility. It truly felt like my own little oasis in the heart of Amsterdam. The room was not only beautifully appointed but also remarkably quiet, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustling city outside. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the bed – luxurious and inviting, it enveloped me in comfort, and I slept like a baby each night. It's rare to find such a perfect balance of style and substance in a hotel room, but the Ambassade Hotel exceeded all expectations. Beyond the impeccable accommodations, the hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Situated just moments away from the city center, I found myself within easy reach of Amsterdam's vibrant attractions and cultural landmarks. As my stay came to an end, the checkout process was just as seamless as check-in. It's clear that the Ambassade Hotel prides itself on providing a hassle-free experience for guests, from start to finish. In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Ambassade Hotel highly enough. Whether you're visiting Amsterdam for business or pleasure, this exceptional hotel offers everything you could possibly need for an unforgettable stay. Don't hesitate – book your stay at the Ambassade Hotel today and prepare to be wowed!
Nothing was bad.
