The staff was super helful. This made up for anything else by me.

The size of the bathroom sink AND the shelf above it gave some headache to me. The sink is small, that is what fits, nothing to do about it. However having such a wide shelf, so low right above it made even a simple face wash a challenge (and gave a foot wash and a huge puddle right away). If the shelf could be placed higher.... I found the bed mattress too old. It had a "hole", a pit, a dimple in it already.

This is a nice, easygoing hotel, absolutely good value for money, clean and comfortable room of good size. Very nice a bit soft, beds. And what is great, the windows can be opened. Pleasant employees at reception and the bar. Next to a tramstop, and one tramstop from railway station.

There is one thing which is troublesome to me, a big boy. The bathroom is tiny, with a very small and uncomfortable wash basin, difficult to use because of overhanging toiletries board above it. The shower cubicle, although pleasantly truly waterproof, is also small, so it is dancing at a few square centimetres. In the shower cubicle, there is no place to put any toiletries like shampoo, shower gel, or razor. Waterpressure is unfortunately also too low. Showering is, therefore, rather inefficient and takes too much time.

I liked the staff and my floor was quite.

Could be a bit closer to the centre, however was well connected with public transportation

This was my 3rd stay at Bastion, 2nd this year and they really improved on the billing process when using Booking dot com. I had both a double room and then a double twin room. The beds are really comfy. Love that there is a mini fridge. Shower is hot and good water pressure. Staff is nice and the walk from Lelylaan station is quick - 10 minutes with 2 luggages = no problem.

The only thing I noticed is how hard it was to wash my face in the sink. I have always showered and just washed my face while doing so, but this time I didn't need a shower and the shelf above the sink is so far over the sink that I kept spilling water all over the floor. I just used a bath mat to catch it, but it was a bit awkward.

The room was very clean and comfy beds were provided. the staff were really friendly and kind. they accommodated us way earlier than their usual check in time. heating was good too. Overall a beautiful place.

the location was a little far from public transport and the hotel located in a place which cannot be reached without taking a long stair case downwards from the main road. there myt be a waking/driving path but very long. the washroom could have been a little bigger. and the floor gets wet easily with a one bath.

Staff friendly and very helpful, good facilities, lovely and clean and warm. Top up of tea, coffee etc was no problem.

The mattresses were made of memory foam, too soft making them uncomfortable. Very little lighting in the main bedroom, could do with a shelf/basket in shower for shampoo, shower gel etc. Had to put everything on floor of shower

Easy access to Amsterdam city, the hospitality was great, even late at night the staff were available and very eager to help.

The booking was for a family, but the beds were two singles separated by a night table. We had to push them together to sleep, which was uncomfortable since they kept moving apart. Since it was a family booking, they should have provided a bigger bed (I’m almost certain I didn’t select single beds when booking).

Staff was really nice and able to answer any question we had. Both reception and cleaning personnel were nice and attentive to our needs. Very positive on that side. Located a bit outside of the city center but quite well connected by tram. We had no problem to get to the city center and back to the hotel at any time, without needing to get a cab.

The matresses are really soft which we did not like, but I guess it is just a question of taste after all and some people would like that.

The location was near a bus, tram, metro, and train so that was convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Throughout my 5 night stay, there were two incidents where my keycard did not work and I had to request for new ones. I guess this is a common thing in the Netherlands, but the king-sized bed is actually made up of two twin-sized mattresses which was incredibly uncomfortable especially when the mattresses slip apart and create a gap in the middle of the bed.

Everything was great! The rooms were clean, simple, and well-decorated, the staff were friendly and helpful, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was very nice. I loved it!

I think the mini-fridge in my room wasn't working, it didn't feel particularly cold and I had some cheese in it that spoiled after about a day.
