We really enjoyed our stay at Décor Canal House. The apartment was very clean, beautifully decorated with an authentic touch, and the direct canal view was absolutely stunning—it truly elevated the whole experience. The location was also perfect, within walking distance to many central spots in Amsterdam.

That said, there was one major downside. We couldn’t tell exactly where it came from—perhaps the small door next to the building or an upper-floor apartment—but there was extremely loud cleaning noise that started very early in the morning and continued until around noon. It felt as if it was happening inside our apartment. While you naturally get used to some street noise in a city like Amsterdam, this level of banging and crashing from cleaning was excessive and genuinely disrupted the comfort of our stay.

The second time I stayed in the Décor Canal House and it was amazing. It feels that the host improved even more with attention to details, and everything we needed was in the room. It was easy to check-in/check-out, and all the main attractions and restaurants are close by. Cleaning service was perfect. Will definitely re-book once I return to Amsterdam.

After renovation, the bells from Westerkerk tower play during the night, which might disrupt your sleep in the first few days until you adapt (or maybe use provided earplugs). I just wish the city would limit the hours of these bells :)

The location and view were perfect. Very nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. My wife loved the coffee machine. It was also nice having some snacks and drinks provided.

All the sounds from street level are clearly heard in the room. People entering the front door and climbing the stairs can also be heard. Light sleepers could have issues. There was a very high step needed to get into the shower. Elderly people or those with mobility issues should use caution. Also, typical steep stairway up to the room. This is to be expected in a canal house.

The room as as described and well appointed. I was pleased to find a portable AC unit in the room after seeing notes that no AC was provided. The location was directly on a canal with easy access to the all aspects of the city. The bathroom was clean and modern. The hotel across the canal hosted a classical concert Saturday of our stay, it was nice having access to the 2nd floor unit with big open windows to watch from inside property (especially when it was pouring rain!!).

There are 35 stairs to access the upstairs unit which are very steep. Those with physical challenges or large bags would struggle. The room itself was nice but very small. I also was not thrilled of the 4 day minimum when I stayed for just 3 but did it anyway since my co-worker booked the lower unit.

We stayed in the De Prins room at the Decor Canal House was was lovely, really stylishly decorated. The room is a really good size, nice bathroom/shower and the mini bar was included in the cost and was a very nice touch. As is the norm in Amsterdam there are two flights of steep stairs to climb to get to the room – which was fine for us! The location is amazing – Jordaan is such a beautiful part of the city with lots of cool cafés, bars, restaurants and boutique shops right on the doorstep. Plus it's easy to walk to most places in the city from here. All in all a 5-star stay.

⸻ The house was a typical Dutch home, very beautiful with an old-time vibe, yet renovated as a modern apartment with all the necessary appliances. The maintenance was excellent, and the location was fantastic. We were there during the Pride Parade, which took place entirely on the canal right below our window, and it was a unique experience. Despite the steep Dutch stairs leading up to the apartment from street level, our stay was wonderful and very enjoyable.

The location was PERFECT! The building was charming. The room was sexy and yet cute.

No view. Didn’t care for the shower design. The transition floor into bathroom area needed to be entered with caution. You could injure your toe on the tiny step up. Upon arrival there was an odd odor that we could not pinpoint. We immediately found and purchased a room spray from grocery store. The stairs were not my favorite, but I could see the charm in them. Our air conditioner needed to be emptied every morning. We needed the air in the morning as we dressed for the day. It would have been nice if that set up was more efficient.

Location amazing! Cute space with plenty of room. Could make coffee every morning. Staff was very efficient dealing with a few minor issues we had with the shower. Bed was comfortable. There was a nice place to sit and look out the window at our great view of the canal. Good insulating windows because it was quiet at night for us to sleep

Could use better lighting in the bathroom. No window in there and only a dim ceiling light. Towels smelled of strong detergent. We were fine with the steps, but could be an issue for someone with large luggage. It was a bit on the pricy side.

The highlights of the property are its location and well maintained hygiene. The property js very close to major attractions in central and also tram station is hardly 200m for easy commuting via public transport. The rooms are. Compact but well equipped and maintained.

You have to do the heavy lifting of your bags through a narrow staircase. Fortunately we did get a help from the care taker for same. No airconditioning if travelling during hot season, but they do have a cooler connected duct system to pull the outdoor air into the room.

Great location, very clean, the bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept, host is very nice to provide compliments upon arrival. Nice and cozy! Canal view is great and there was a concert on Princengracht during our stay, which we literally listened and watched through our room window! The property is highly recommended.

Stairs are too steep, difficult to carry luggage especially for ladies :)
