Galerij Hotel is amazing,friendly, warm welcome from the staff working there (Mo, Yusuf and one more gentleman I met);they will definitely answer you any question You may have. It is a place for people who like to travel and explore, it has everything needed for this. If You want to stay all day long inside, and not to explore, maybe the place is not the best for you. But if you want a place very close to Anna Frank's house, supermarket, shops, Amsterdam Royal Palace, Nieuwe Kerk, then definitely you will chose Galery Hotel.

Very nice location and friendly staff. Trashy retro ho(s)tel vibe inspired me to pass my audition when in Amsterdam so i guess its my lucky hotel! I also recommend this location if you want to have amazimggg legs, the stairs will provide a free leg workout!! Loved that you had to leave the key at the reception because i always lose everything 🙃! My almost none square meter room was really authentic and was actually quite clean, i had sink right beside my bed so I could sit on my bed while brushing my teeth!! Oh and the bed was very comfortable actually!!

There was black mold in the shower 😭 (but only in one, I think the other one in another floor was cleaner). But I guess that is what you get for this price.. idk i'm a broke bi**h from Slovenia and I was also more broke after the Galerij experience but I guess for a hotel in Amsterdam its cheap 👾

The staff were very friendly. The location was great, near the Anne Frank House. There were also a couple of (real) coffee shops nearby. The bed was quite comfy and I appreciated the sink in the room. The toilet and shower were shared with the whole floor, both were satisfactory. There is no elevator, you have to climb up multiple flights of stairs, but this wasn't an issue for me.

It was a bit expensive for the facilities I got, but Amsterdam is expensive overall. There weren't enough electrical outlets in the room. Also, I had to leave the key at the reception desk everytime I left.

The room was clean and the hotel location were fine. The window gives as much ventilation as you need. The power socket is half way up the wall but you can rest your phones or appliances on the cupboard no problem. I had my little fold up travel kettle to use in the room and there is a fridge you can use near the reception. The only noise you get at night is the church bells on the hour which might irritate some people. The small shower room which is separate was clean and fine and i would certainly use the place again for the money.

Everything was pretty much as expected. If you want to pay two or three times the price then good luck !

The location is great, and the hotel in general is very decent.

During our stay we met 3 people taking turns at the reception. Two of them were great, very kind and friendly. But there was one who was exactly the opposite, being very prejudice, spoke to us very rudely asking 'what were we on' and kept pushing with an outrage face, we were just smiling asking for the key to our room to go to sleep (Saturday night). On different occasions just giving us a mean looks. The fact that you MUST leave the key at the reception each time you leave the hotel would be totally fine if it weren't for this person. I won't give the hotel a bad rating only for this very bad experience with that man, but I certainly won't be staying there again.

I had a five star experience in hotel Galerij! Everything, from the professionalism of the staff, to my room which was facing the street, had a massive window and high to the ceiling which despite its few square meters allowed for a spacious and airy room sensation. This hotel is also smokers friendly since they have a big balcony where you can smoke - where the hospitable staff might just make you a free coffee as well. The hotel is very centrally located and even though it's fairly old, I found it to be charming.

The internet was at times a bit slow and there were construction materials laying around on the hallways of the hotel but it didn't bother me that much and with a old building you need to work on it more or less constantly.

It was clean, classic Dutch style building, good location with proximity to Dam Square, Anne Frank House etc.. The staff are the best thing about the property according to me. They are friendly and very helpful. Got me through difficult situations. Alparslan who works there become a good friend who in his time off guided me around the city. Another person called Amir provided really good information about the city and even helped me out when I was in a difficult situation. Thank you for hosting me and making my trip to Amsterdam the most memorable time I’ve had so far.

Nothing. Everything was prefect!

This hotel is perfect for a weekend with friends, the location is central and only 20 minutes' walk from Centraal Station. The receptionist looked after us throughout our stay, he was very friendly and we were able to leave our luggage in the hotel while we made a final tour of the city. We wanted side-by-side rooms with friends and our request was respected. We had everything we needed, sheets and towels were provided. I highly recommend it - just don't be afraid of the stairs!

Everything the negative comments say is true: the stairs are too high, but apparently that's the city's infrastructure. The room is also too small, and a bell rings all the time, and there's a nearby church.

they upgraded my room to one that was bigger with private shower, the staff was nice, I got to use a fridge. location was great. wifi good enough for streaming

there was a sound from the radiator (but it went away if I turned it on). I found it quite expensive for the value, but it's not any worse than the rest of the city
