Just what I needed for the perfect stay in Amsterdam-the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. The location is central and close to the family and friends I had come to visit.

This is a very small thing, but I found the room a bit dark even with the brightest lights on, especially around the entrance . ( And this is not a criticism, but travellers should be aware that the charming old buildings in Amsterdam, such as this one have some very steep stairs , including the front steps, and sometimes in unexpected places , that are not avoided by the lift between floors. I was happy with this, but anyone with even moderate mobility issues would find this a problem . The staff said that they did have rooms that were more accessible, so anyone worried about this should make careful enquiries before booking )

Room was nice and bed comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and had a jetted tub. The location was great for walking Jordaan neighborhood, the canals, catching boat tours, and a very short distance to the Anne Frank House. And a few steets and alleys to tram connection for most everywhere else around the city, including walking distance, or 2 short stops, by tram to Amsterdam Central train station for easy day trip to other parts of The Netherlands. There were steps up into the hotel and a few to get up to the small elevator, but the elevator was a nice option which we sometimes used. Amsterdam's narrow buildings can be a steep stair climb. Staff was always pleasant, helpful and easy to find on main level, at least in the main house where our room was located. Also, the secluded garden in the back between the back of building on the next street over, was a pleasant place to sit and relax as was the common parlor/breakfast/bar area.

Our room overall was on the smaller side, but there was full disclosure beforehand. Otherwise I cannot tjink of anything I or my wife found important that we did not like. Not the hotels fault, but the tram that would have been closest to the hotel around Wetermarkt was not running on the street there (Randhuisstraat) due to what seemed to be longer term road/street and canal bridge construction work going on when we were there (July 2025)

The hotel staff exceeded expectations, as the attention was from the confirmation of the reservation to the farewell. The birthday surprise I ordered was wonderfully taken care of, where additionally was made room upgrade (at no additional cost). The hotel's location is ideal, from which everything is accessible on foot, the hotel's environment and interior are non-standard, which added additional value, because we felt like we were living in a local's house. I definitely recommend it!

This is definitely not a minus, we received brand new towels throughout our stay, which meant we walked around a bit fluffed up :D

For our visit The Toren hotel was nicely located for the sites and activities we were interested in. The room (431) we booked is just as pictured the advertised photo. It is located on the top floor (3rd above street level) overlooking the canal; great location and easy access. There is daily room service refreshing/stocking everything.

Cost of breakfast is high for what we normally spend, but knew this when booking. Can't say how good their breakfast is or the value. There are many other lower cost options well within walking distance.

Having vacated an unsuitable accommodation ( that we had booked in advance) at 11.30 p.m, we literally turned up at the hotel asking if they had any room. We explained our circumstances and they could not of been more helpful and accommodating towards us. The member of staff who came to our aid was obliging and concerned and went out of his way to make us feel safe and welcome. While we headed back to the first apartment to get our stuff, he assured us that the room would be ready and all the relevant forms ready on our return. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. After travelling for 10 days around Europe by train (Amsterdam was our last destination) this hotel and the staff made the last two days of our holiday a memorable one. Good location, near one of the canals, trams nearby and walkable to most of the places we had booked to visit. The hotel was one of the old merchants houses and was decorated in a Roccoco style of exuberance and grandeur which may not be to everyone’s taste but it suited the building and its architecture. Really enjoyed our stay and it would be our choice next time we visit Amsterdam.

We had no complaints, especially after spending a few hours in the other original location!

* great location: on the one hand, in the centre, on the other hand, on a quiet street; * complimentary water every day; * bathrobe; * champagne on ice for breakfast.

* just be aware that the hotel occupies two buildings - the main one, with the reception and the breakfast area, and the other one, which is a couple of steps aside, my room was in that other building; * prehistoric chest of drawers: the drawers are not opened and even if you manage to open them, you can't close then, so I decided not to risk and had to keep my personal belongings on the stool under the table; * too expensive.

Situated on canal in a quiet area. Great location, with cafes and restaurants around the corner, several within 5-10 minute walk. Quiet area. Lovely time strolling through the neighborhood day or evening. Church bells in area were lovely to hear in the distance. Not bothersome as another reviewer mentioned. Art museums about 25 minute walk. The restaurant was nice to sit for a drink. Menu looked good but we did not order food. The canal view was lovely. Beds and pillows comfortable. Bathroom was modern and spacious. Coffee/espresso, water and soft drinks provided in room. Front desk was helpful with restaurant recommendations, and arranging cab to airport.

One minor issue-there was no water one morning during our stay. We luckily showered early - and saw a plumber arriving before we headed out for the day. The staff didn’t communicate about it but it was back on when we stopped by in the afternoon.

The location, the hotel is situated in the quite residential area of Amsterdam canal streets, most of the tourists attractions are about 20-25 mins walk away. The cafe and pub about 5-10mins walk from the hotel. The area is one of the prettier bits of Amsterdam. The hotel decor is black, very dark gothic in style. We didn't really have much encounter with staff as we were placed into The Pavilion which is a few houses down from the main hotel. The outlook we had were roof tops I wouldn't call it a courtyard view. The bed was larger than expected solid but comfy. Bathroom is modern and had a great huge bath, with shower.

The entrance to the Pavilion does smell dusty as you walk in, but it is an old building. The dust, The dark decor, it is obessive. That breakfast isn't included. The bell tower it goes off every half hour and then every hour chiming. If you like your window open then be prepared to take ear plugs, if your a heavy sleeper then your be fine.

Very clean, great location, good breakfast. Stephano at reception was really amazing. If you want him to find a easy way to book any tourism attraction he is very much helpful.

All the staff were amazing, they would move heaven and earth for you. The decor is beautiful, you get a real cosy feeling. Beds were so comfortable, the jacuzzi was brilliant. Breakfast is first class as well as evening meals. Location is fantastic , 7-8 min walk to dam square, line 17 tram only a 2 min walk, loads of cafes, bars and shops in the immediate vicinity. Flagship canal cruise only 2 min away. By far the best hotel I've stayed in to date, I could not rate this hotel any higher, would strongly recommend it to anyone.
