Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Great location.

During the check in process customers are required to write down (by pen) their full credit card number, including expiry date, on the same page as their address, name and birthday. For me, that's a security risk and I think the hotel needs to review this part of their check in process. They already have a credit card held on file digitally. And additionally they digitally take card details during the check in, so this writing down the number seems unnecessary as well as uncomfortable. This was my only problem during the stay.

very helpful staff. very convenient location to walk everywhere.. if you have to ride a car or a taxi, then good luck! but thatt is the general situation in Amsterdam central, not with this hotel. staff is super polite, helpful and always willing to make things right the room was good and clean, but a bit weird architecture... as soon as you enter the room, you are in the bathroom! (LoL).

my deal was bed and breakfast rate. even the bill says bed and breakfast rate, but I was told no breakfast was included Nad I'd have to pay 21 Euros for breakfast. no real issue as there are so many great breakfast options and this hotel does not even offer hot breakfast. it's just that I would have not paid the bed and breakfast rate, and told no breakfast included

The hotel is in one of the most beautiful streets in Amsterdam. Our room had an exceptionally comfortable bed, and a beautiful view over the garden, where it was nice to sit and have tea. Very friendly staff too.

The stairs were almost dangerous - tiny, dark, with no visible markings on the edge of the steps for those with poorer vision. Also, we paid almost £400 a night, and were disappointed that we were limited to one cup of tea or coffee at breakfast, and had to pay extra if we wanted anything hot, eg scrambled eggs. Its also worth noting that although the situation of the hotel was excellent, it was not particularly near any bus, tram or Metro station.

Varied breakfast, excellent location, pleasant staff.

We expected a view of the canal, but instead, we had a view of a wall on the ground floor. :( Our room was located under the kitchen, which we had to walk through to get to breakfast, and from 6 AM, we could hear the breakfast preparations. The bed in the middle was so worn out and soft that my partner and I kept rolling towards the center and ended up sleeping on a slanted surface. The room lighting was insufficient – it was too dark. There was also a strange requirement for a credit card number. I wanted to pay the deposit via Apple Pay, but they insisted on the exact card number, which I didn’t have physically, and Apple Pay doesn’t display it. Quite odd for a luxury hotel. In the end, it was resolved by paying in cash.

The welcome was awesome! A small, healthy welcome drink, and space to rest in the lounge, plus coffee. The staff was exceptional here: super nice, informative with great recommendations and perfect service. Also, a great location.

The rooms could have been a bit bigger for 2 people, and the bathroom could have used a heated floor, or at least a rug in there. And, it was a bit dark with the modern, moody color scheme.

The court yard and brekfast were lovely. Service was exceptional. The room was cosy and the finishings very cute. I like that the staff were knowledgeable of the house history and were happy to share this when asked.

The pillows were too soft, so felt like you wernt using a pillow at all. Not that anything be done about this but just an FYI, the acustic's in the room are not great. You can hear every chair moved in the dining room upstart, and people's conversations in the hallway. Room is not very sound proof. I feel the layout of the room could be better to take advantage of the view from that room. The TV infront of the window is a terrible idea and would be better placed on the wall. Another thing that would have amplified the experience is if on a Friday or Saturday afternoon if they had someone playing live acustic music in the court yard. Which is an area that I think was underutilised for it beauty.

Canal House is charming. Beautiful, old world vibe. The staff was wonderful. The room, one of their smallest, felt like an attic room. We were only there one night. The bed was super comfortable and the room overlooked the courtyard so it was very quiet. It was hot in Amsterdam, so we had the windows open and a fan going. It is an old house that has been repurposed, so it comes with the usual funnies. It is not a chain hotel. Our local friends said it is on what is considered the most beautiful canal. Very close to the train station.

There are no USB ports, but they brought up a bin of adapters and we were able to find what we needed to plug in all our devices. The stairs are tricky, but they handled the luggage.

There was nothing not to like; every thing was perfect! The hotel was more like a bed and breakfast than hotel. Beautiful facility - every inch of it!

Amazing stay at an amazing property. The best aspect of this property is the staff. From the way Melanie greeted me, accommodated my requests and anticipated my needs to Jerry at breakfast every morning making me feel cared for to Andril welcoming me in after a late evening out and so responsive to any concern I may have to Artemie's enthusiasm. My best was so comfortable. I appreciated the turn down service. I could live everyday like that. Loved looking out onto the garden at breakfast. All other properties I stay in will have this bar to meet.

I did not want to leave.

We love love the location and the ambiance + rooms. The decor is on point and the facilities are great! Diana the receptionist is the best to come inside the hotel and encounter. You’re lucky if you see her once you stay at the hotel. The back courtyard is so pretty. We unfortunately had a bad experience when we checked in. It wasn’t our first time at the hotel. We kept this booking the last one in the trip to save the best for last, we arrived tired after 2 flights to be treated badly. When we checked into our room, we realized how hot it was, we thought the heating was on but it wasn’t. The ac said it’s on but there was no air at all. The hallways and elevator felt cooler than the room. We called then went downstairs to see if there are any updates, and got the worst attitude. The deputy general manager (WILKO VAN DER VLAG) just kept replying back with a tone saying “we’re checking on it”. When we said is the ac not working? He said that we didn’t have a right to complain about the ac because it’s not in the list of facilities of the hotel, so he has the right not to turn it on. So we asked if the ac was off, no reply regarding that. We then proceeded to see if we can find a solution to that, which we got a reply of saying that if we didn’t like the room he’ll be happy to book us another hotel. Rather than being hospitable and saying he’ll find us a solution of the ac actually turns out to be broken. Once we proceeded to ask for his info to send a complaint, he offered to show us another room. We went up and the room felt soooo much cooler! It took a few minutes to actually get a solution and that hiccup ruined our night to be honest. We did not expect such treatment.
