Hotel Okura Amsterdam is a true gem—worth every extra penny. From the stunning decor to the Michelin-starred dining, this hotel exceeded all expectations. What made the stay unforgettable was the exceptional service, especially from Nena, who made us feel like family. We were celebrating my daughters’ professional victories, and the staff’s warmth turned it into something truly special. The small touches, like the pillow selection, were amazing; it allowed us all to have our perfect sleep. This hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience, and I’ll be returning often.

Beautifully simple, fresh, clean rooms with incomparable views of Amsterdam. Very large comfortable beds. Location is not hyper-central but that’s also why I chose to stay here, it’s in a nice residential neighborhood on the good side of town. Breakfast is excellent. Good place if you come by car with on site parking!!

Check in is a bit tedious and unnecessarily slow especially for repeat customer… i’m not sure why but it’s quite always an operation just to get the key to the room…. Hotel is definitely business oriented, i would not stay here for a romantic retreat.

Fantastic hotel with amazing facilities. The location is amazing - easy to get the tram into the centre of town, in a lovely neighbour and out of the main tourist spots. The pool and gym facilities were top notch, very handy if travelling with children.

The service could have been improved. We had an issue with billing cause by a staff error and the staff at the buffet breakfast weren’t up to the same standards as other parts of the hotel.

Easy luxury, professional staff, comfortable luxurious rooms, my executive room was a corner king. I found that certain details in the room were quite "dated" for a 5-star and the view of an industrial roof and a children's farm below was less than ideal, but still, it was on a high floor so you had a view of the skyline (although not the canal). Access to the panorama executive lounge is worth the extra price of the room. Location is the best in Amsterdam, close to the center (a couple of metro stops or a 10minute ride) but much more upscale than the very touristy center. Breakfast was excellent but very loud, it is a big and very busy hotel, and also served in a room with zero views, which again I did not appreciate for a 5-star.

Big hotel, quite impersonal for a 5-star. They required a deposit, which stunned me, this is a 5-star and my room was completely prepaid. Upon check-in I was told this is in case we use products from the room fridge. Upon check out I was told all this was included in the room anyway because it was an executive room. I felt insecure and confused and this is a no-go for a 5-star of this level. Breakfast very busy and loud in a room with zero natural light and views, again not what you expect at a 5-star.

Brilliant hotel from the first interaction, very friendly, amazing rooms, helped us with an extra bed, Louis at the reception was exceptional, giving us guidance, and access to the lounge at the 22nd which was a great place to spend time. The location is great and the staff were helpful with guidance and support for the best experience. They elevated the whole experience of being in Amaterdam for us. We are very grateful.

The room is very clean...it follows the Japanese mindset of cleanliness. I also like the location because it's not in the touristy area but it's easy to get to it if you are a tourist. The breakfast is really good, plus the two Michelin starred restaurants.

The glass wall between the bathroom and the sleeping area. It should be closed off with a wall. The light travels through the roller shade when you are showering and your partner is sleeping.

Location to RAI and city center

Needs renovation Rooms smell strange Porters never helped at check in and check out House keeping kept disturbing so many times per day Towels were not refreshed Breakfast area is small for a five star hotel and smells burnt Breakfast staff do not attend to you unless you ask them several times Sauna is enough for one person and has a queue at all times

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with nice view over the city. Bars and restaurants at the location, but De Pijp (Amsterdam quarter) is not far away, and there one finds cheaper bars/restaurants as well.

Okura comes with a price; it is not a cheap hotel. One also needs to take public transport to get into the centre or you can walk but it takes a bit, as it is located in Amsterdam-south - easy connection with tram 12 though.
