The staff brought the VIBESSSS. They offered daytime activities, pub crawls, epic nights out, drinking games, and a free dinner - which as a solo female traveler balling on a budget I really appreciated. The patio is SOOOOO cute and they have really nice common areas to hangout in. Onefam Amstel is right next to Sarphatipark so you walk outside and are basically in a park already. The hostel itself was super clean and real cutesy.
I fell in love with the community at OneFam Amstel. The staff go out of their way to include everyone in their activities and nights out which makes it so easy as a solo traveler to make connections and lifelong friends. As a solo female traveler I felt really comfortable and well taken care of here.

The staff was incredibly friendly—especially David and the Italian girl (which I can’t unfortunately recall her name right now) at the reception! They were very kind and helped us with any questions we had without hesitation.

Staff were friendly and organised daily social events so that everyone had a chance to connect with other solo travellers from around the world.
Stairs were narrow (but this is a given for most European hostels).

First of all, the location of the hostel is extremely good and it is also pretty well located with the public transport. The welcome was great, Gabi showed us all around the hostel and gave us good vibes from the direct beginning. The hostel is not big but the available size is perfectly used in terms of common areas, terrace, extra bathrooms (besides the ones in the rooms) etc. The rooms are great, there are enough lockers and the bathroom is pretty modern as well. So all of that is already worth an amazing review: but the best thing about the hostel is the effort that the people in there are making to make your stay as perfect as possible. There is always an amazing program to join for the whole day (every day!), a WhatsApp chat for connecting with the people staying over, a reception with one employee nicer than the other one and in general just amazing vibes that are spread throughout the hostel. I can recommend a visit to anyone; whether you are travelling alone or with a group. OneFam is gonna make your stay remarkable. I would always come back!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy. They have a nice large backyard open until 10pm. Really useful for meeting with other residences and having drink with them. They also have a nice common rooms, kitchens that the facilities are super useful and clean. Easy access by tram and metro connections available even at midnights. They have CCTV watching common areas which make you feel safe inside. There was a bathroom available both inside rooms and common area. If you are an extrovert person, you can join in their activities that they organize everyday. By far the most social hostel management I have ever met.
Stairway was so tight that I could not go up with my luggage by myself. However the staff helped me to carry my luggage to upstair. There were 9 bunk beds in the room but common area was tight for standing up, changing clothes etc. You have to bring your chain for their locker cells, otherwise you can not store your personal belongings safe. However you can ask to the reception to keep them at the reception, they are helpful enough. They rent shower towels with a reasonable price but I would rather having one for free. Also there was not a hair-dryer inside, I did not ask if it is also for rent or can be borrowed, no information about it.

There was free food every evening, often some free drinks, events every day and every evening. Made solo travelling very social! There was a social room where you could watch TV, and the kitchen which had a kettle, coffee machine, microwave and fridge that guests could use. The lockers were big enough for my backpack, and you could ask for a hairdryer, and rent towels and locks. The location is about 20-30 mins walk from the city centre, but right next to the Albert Cuyp market, tram and metro stations. Some guests behaved badly at the beginning of my stay and were immediately dealt with - the environment is kept safe and guests are super well cared for. Andreas, Jules and David get special mentions for being extra lovely but everyone who worked at the hostel were fab!
The showers swing between hot and cold a lot but I was still able to have a decent shower - water pressure was still good. No curtains on the beds so be prepared for that - didn't bother me though and I knew this before I showed up. Someone stole my flip flops :((((

Best hostel in town! The staff is so so friendly and sweet, it’s a joy to walk past reception everytime, David was so helpful and nice to talk to, he gave me a ton of recommendations and a room in the bottom floor as I have lots of luggage to carry, truly a blessing of a human🫶:) Jules also went above and beyond and took me to some super cool spots around the city, listened to my dating life for hours and gave me fashion advice whenever I asked♥️ and Ale was super sweet and kind, I found myself in a situation I didn’t like and she handled it greatly when I approached reception, super appreciated♥️. Also very yummy family dinners, and lots of instances and spaces to socialise

What I liked was the spirit of the place. The staff was particularly nice to me. Not too exaggerated but really friendly. I first was served by Jules. They make me really comfortable and find a solution for my messy check in. David helps a lot too. No info was forgotten which didn't make me feel like: hu... If I knew....I think he is the one I saw the most. He doesn't like cheese. But apparently he likes carrot 🥕 no one is perfect hein. ! Wondering if the cat got a raise recently? Cause he did the best job ever!! More food for him!!!
OMG the upstairs bed. What about those shelves where you can't step on each one? What are the tips to never be on the top next time? Cause I'm really gonna come back you know?!!!

I stayed at the hostel for only one night as i was passing through Amsterdam, but loved it! In a very Onefam style, staff was super nice and facilities were great. Didn't participate in group activities this time around but the options are so fun :) I also really enjoyed the location, as everything was easy to reach but it wasn't in the very very centre. Will definitely come back if I ever travel back to amsterdam <3
Would love curtains on the beds! otherwise everything was good

It has been a wonderful stay. The hostel has absolutely everything, even free activities every day; the best if you go alone and want to make friends. The staff is attentive, charming and with very good vibes. Specifically, I treated more with David (puxa asturies!) and María; both charming and very professional, with me and with the rest of the guests. I wish you all the best 🫰🏻 In short, this hostel is everything a hostel should be 😊
