The location was great, one of my favorite places in the whole Europe. The staff was friendly, and on a few occasions went an extra mile to accommodate small asks. The grounds are beautiful and pleasant. Plenty of room to walk around, and for our 5 year old to run and play. The room was nice, we loved that we could open a window for fresh air. Having a small fridge was a plus. Located in between Utrecht and Amsterdam, we had good day trips to both places with ease.

The only thing for me personally was not having A/C. Since the room is a setup of 2 floors, and the comfortable bed is on the second floor where it is much hotter, I slept on a less comfortable couch downstairs because it was cooler. Small things, not enough to change the 10rating.

The location is stunning, staff are very accommodating and the bed was very comfortable. This really is perfect getaway, especially if you are used to city life. We were lucky with the weather, which made it even more picturesque. We rented a sloop for the afternoon and travelled through Breukelen and Maarssen, we didn't want to go back yet, so we phoned the hotel and asked for an extension on the rental, which they kindly allowed. Also we were given a late check out at a very reasonable rate. In this place, if you ask for something, they do their best to make it happen. Couldn't ask for more. Food recommendation: The steak tartaar and foie royal were incredible - I could eat them all day!

My only main criticism is on the catering side of things. Dinner service could have used an extra staff member on Saturday night, as the full restaurant seemed a lot of them to deal with at once. It was quite a while before we got menus and some bread, but the food was indeed delicious when it came. Breakfast could offer a little more options, with the hot food only being offered in small portions and fresh orange juice only available from the waiting staff instead of self serve like everything else. One last note, the lights in the room could use a dimmer switch, the LED reading lights are bright enough to scorch the earth. Would be nice to have something in between! These are only minor criticisms, we really loved it here!

Beautiful building set in a garden with a waterfront. A bike shed available. Very comfortable and spacious room in the annexe. Lovely terrace for dining in the evening. Good dinner.

We felt the hotel had delusions of grandeur in general. The grounds were lovely but not huge. The restaurant was good but not amazing. The reception staff were quite curt, the girl who showed us where to park our bikes scarcely lifted her eyes from her phone, service was slow at dinner (though the girl who served us was refreshingly smiley) and there almost no-one around at breakfast which was pleasant but nothing special considering the cost. The strange arrangement of shower and sink being in the bedroom rather than a separate ensuite was odd and the toilet had no sink in it - not good for hygiene in my opinion. There was nowhere to put a hand towel which seemed odd for such a ‘designed’ room. Overall, not really value for money or the relaxing pampering we’d hoped for.

Beautiful estate, with well maintained grounds and some stand out features e.g. the restaurant area with its all-glass structure, lovely pond, cute tea house, lovely reception building, modern and well air-conditioned rooms (very appreciated as we had quite a warm day), and the property is right on the river. Also happy with the friendliness of the staff.

Overall, not sure about the value for money. It was a very expensive one night stay for a comfort room, dinner and breakfast - everything was nice, but not really wowed by the room or food quality. Also thought the grounds would have been more expansive but beyond the river, the hotel is wedged between 2 main roads.

Good variety for breakfast. Beautiful location alongside the canal. Very relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Even though we were not in the main building the anexe was built to a high standard and the rooms very spacious.

They provided tea and coffee in the room, but no milk! One slight annoying thing, was the automatic light in shower, it took an age to turn off when we went to bed and was frustrating coming on if you use the sink in the night!

The location and setting were a dream! Likewise, all staff were engaging, friendly and made us feel relaxed - nothing was too much trouble. We also used the local buses and it was convenient to walk and cycle to nearby places. We deliberately didn't hire a car and benefitted from the nearby bus and train stations. Amsterdam, Utrecht, Airport and countryside all easily accessible without a car. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant area was amazing - along with a recommended local boat trip and hotel bike hire. Thank you for making this a special stay for my parents as well as my wife and I. Bedankt!

Food was a little more expensive than other nearby locations; however, we appreciate that we were staying in an exceptional setting.

We loved the scenery! The grounds are kept up so well. They are situated along de Vecht and have a terrace with a bar right on the water. The sunroom in the dining hall was beautiful, and the rooms were fantastic. They provide bikes to rent and it’s a 10 minute ride to the station. The cleaning staff did an excellent job throughout our stay. The staff was exceptionally accommodating, even offering to move us to a larger suite in another building when they realized we were the only room in our building not part of a big celebration they were hosting so we wouldn’t be disturbed, and offered a bottle of champagne for our trouble. They also provided free breakfast to our room because breakfast had been booked up by the same party and there was no seating in the restaurant. We were consistently impressed by the quality of service and hospitality, and can’t wait to come back and stay again next time we visit the Netherlands.

Lovely location and easy to reach. Options to rent boats and bicycles were great! Reception staff were super friendly and helpful.

Gravel from the parking to the rooms made it very difficult to roll luggage but staff offered to help. Towels were below par and really small, hard. Sadly had a poor experience at the restaurant Bloei

The garden is very nice with the canal behind. We did not enjoy the teahouse (late arrival and one night stay only) but it looked nice as well. The breakfast was good and the bedroom was functional and beautiful.

If we need to find something, maybe the shower is too small (e.g 70 or 80cm deep&wide) But it is not an issue and it was a nice shower!

Hotel is set in such a beautiful setting. Just outside a very small town with a few great restaurants. The room was beautiful, the windows overlooking the property were beautiful and the shower incredible. Can rent bicycles from hotel.

The light in the bathroom was motion sensored and on the first night the light didn't go out for almost an hour and half making it very difficult to fall asleep! Front desk said it happens all the time. perhaps they should figure that out before putting guests in the room:)) It would be nice to have a door or something separately the shower from the bedroom for privacy. Otherwise, nothing else to say. It was beautiful.
