This is an excellent place to stay in Gouda, the location, the high tea, the Michelin star! The family was perfect for our family of four 10 and 14 years old girls.

The coffee machine could be a little more easy to use. I Wasted one of the two caps because I couldn’t figure it out. Honestly, this could be my fault. Otherwise the place was immaculate. My 14 years old girl wasn’t keen on sharing a shower exposed to the rest of us (even promising we weren’t looking). So she missed a shower! My 10 years and I had a great time in the bathtub in front of these unique Dutch windowns!

Excellent big beds and good linens. A very good shower. The building is extremely charming and well renovated. Rooms are quiet and breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Position is great right in the centre and walking distance from a reasonably priced garage. Minibar is generous with quite a few complimentary options.

The interior is dark and the rooms are really dark- There is insufficient light practically everywhere in the room. Very little hanging and storage space so max for 1 or 2 nights. Some bedrooms have stairs in the rooms which I personally do not like at all. However there are rooms all in one space so you can ask for one.

Breakfast was lovely, a nice selection of things, coffee and orange juice smashing. Michelin restaurant booking was made last minute and they kindly fitted us in; the experience was divine, a lovely treat for my husband’s birthday. Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble

The only downside was during the early hours, my husband was woken by some industrial sounding banging which disturbed his sleep. I heard the noise twice but can sleep through most things. Not sure if the cause.

Staff are just wonderful. The restaurant amazing. Perfect location and entourage. The beds and bed linnen are a dream. A true gem in the middle of Gouda.

Room 41 could do with some protection against persistent background noise from some machinery in the attic late at night and early in the morning. Bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to that.

The staff was amazing and we're very well received. Even before my stay, I received an excellent support through chat in order to plan a few surprises for my partner and they also helped me to book a dinner for our New Year's Eve. Everything was amazing but our experience was only that amazing because we had an excellent support by the staff. I really appreciated and recommend it. The room was super comfortable and the breakfast was supreme!

The hotel is located very centrally, so you can walk to all the sights and restaurants. It is in a beautiful old building and the whole hotel is furnished very tastefully. Our room was spacious enough, even had a little terrace and the bed was very comfortable. I would also like to mention the hotel staff, they were extraordinarily welcoming and nice. I would love to stay there again and next time try the restaurant in the hotel.

The stairs up to our room very pretty steep, especially with luggage, but the hotel personnel instantly helped with that. Parking costs 35 EUR, wich I find quite expensive.

This place was a complete surprise! We had no idea we were walking into a magical little paradise of a place. Greeted by the sweet and knowledgeable Jasmine, all smiles and caring for our needs, the open courtyard, subtle yet natural fragrances wafting through the historic yet tastefully modern decorated hotel, smiling staff, and finally our gorgeous room, it was as though we’d wandered into a fairy tale! The location is perfect, on a quiet cobbled street across from the church, yet very close to the market square. Breakfast was rich and bountiful, and MARK and Martina were so friendly and helpful with information about the town. The staff are top notch and want their guests to be worry free and happy. They delivered this in spades. I highly recommend this Hotel and the historic town itself to other travelers!

There was an error - of my making! - in the booking. However, the receptionist made the appropriate arrangements and we spent the night in the Bridal Suite ! The receptionist not only recommended a restaurant for dinner, but when we arrived at the restaurant there was a very thoughtful card from the hotel wishing us a good evening. Having worked in hotels for many years, there is no doubt in my mind that she is one of the best receptionists I have come across. Breakfast is a mixture of buffet and a la carte service and was good and plentiful. Gouda is a beautiful town and this architecturally and historically important hotel building is one of its joys

I genuinely cannot think of anything that could be changed or bettered

This hotel is in a beautiful very old building that has been sympathetically transformed into a gem. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location is not too long a walk from the railway station and you are right in the old town. Our room was quiet and peaceful and had every comfort. The hotel restaurant is really exceptional and the inclusive breakfast was lovely. The hotel smelled wonderful. There have been a lot of remarks about the ‘en-suite’ layout of the bedrooms which make it sound as though you are showering or using the toilet in full view of the other occupant. This is not the case. The toilet is in it’s own room and the shower is a large walk-in arrangement behind a solid wall. Only the hand basin is in full view.

There is not a vast amount of hotel accommodation in Gouda and, as we were on foot, this hotel was our best choice. However, it is expensive. That is not to say that we felt overcharged in any way. It is a luxury hotel. If I had to criticise, I would have to say that the lack of a hand basin in the toilet is a mistake. Also, who but the extremely young and glamorous would want a mirror on the back of the toilet door?

We had a wonderful stay in this extraordinarily beautiful hotel in the buildings of an old orphanage/cloister: a marvellous brick building with red shutters and a spacious patio. We received a very warm welcome and could enter our room a little bit before 15:00. We much appreciated the complementary glass of prosecco, which accompanied an invitation to dine in the hotel restaurant (which in the end we did not do). There are many beautiful details - too many to mention them all. We really liked the wooden roof beams, the colors of the room, the spacious shower, the shampoo/body lotion etc. The matrasses were also excellent. A true highlight was the breakfast, which is served in a stately room with a truly stunning mantelpiece and large painting. There was a small buffet combined with very attractive a la carte options (these are somewhat smaller dishes, so we combined two: pancakes and scrambled eggs, which were both delicious). Here, too, the service was excellent.

Actually, there's nothing to complain about. Maybe I can mention that we missed hooks to hang the wet towels. For some travellers, it may interesting to know that - at least in our room - there was not a regular bathroom; rather, the sink is in the room, next to the sink is a glass door into the shower, and there is a separate WC.
