Villa Trompenberg is a super cozy place to spend some time away from the main city. Whether you're visiting the area or just want to get away from Amsterdam, this big mansion transformed into a de luxe B&B is a great option: the surroundings are very calm, the house is beautiful, decorated and maintained with care. The owner and staff are great, super accomodating, and make a very good breakfast. At the same time, everything is self-service, from entrance to snacks. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bed and shower are awesome, all great! Hilversum is a small city but has a few nice places to eat. We come here every now and then just to get away from kids :-) and the busy life.

It's a bit on the expensive side, but again, worth it for what it is.

I am a very private person and due to business, I use 3 or so hotels every single week of the year and dislike having to deal with more people than absolutely necessary, so to have the easy self check in and check out without seeing a single person and also having the quality and comfort of a boutique hotel is wonderful. The fact that if you are hungry or thirsty, you can serve yourself if fantastic. A wonderful place and an absolutely fantastic system. I would recommend it highly. The surrounding area is quiet and well manicured.

Lovely house in Hilversum (30-40' from Amsterdam) in a fancy neighborhood, with several rooms and a separate garden shed (where we stayed). Every detail is thoughtfull, with a super comfy bed and bedsheets, nice bathroom, great furniture and plenty of space. It's mostly self-service, with available snacks and drinks in the reception area, and an excellent breakfast with made-to-order eggs, prepared by the super nice host. We went for a single-night escapade, and would love to come back for a longer stay.

The house is on a very busy road, so it's a bit noisy - but we didn't have any problems to sleep.

The Hotel Villa Trompenberg is beautifully furnished with stylish details that were a was a feast for the eyes! I liked the 'serve yourself' approach with the honesty box. It was nice to grab a little bottle of red wine at the end of the day. The continental style breakfast was lovely and I appreciated the cooked eggs! Excellent coffee and fruit juices. This was my first time in the Netherlands and therefore I had not been to Hilversum before. I relied on taxis to take me to my son's house in South Hilversum and to the train station, but I'm sure in the spring or summer I could have walked or cycled across town. The location is in a beautiful area close to a large forest/park area which I hope to explore when I come back in the summer.

What did I like? Everything. What an absolute gem of a property. I was hesitant to write this review, as I selfishly don't want more people to find out about Villa Trompenberg. But yea, the place is simply phenomenal. Really cool old house converted into a boutique hotel. Everything you could want from an accommodation and then some. Large, elegant, spotlessly clean, comfortable room. Bikes available for hire. Fully stocked 24 hour food and drink offerings in the reception / kitchen. Easy everything; check in, bike hire, coffee on demand, honesty bar, check out. The daughter in the family that owns the property was there in the morning making eggs to order for the guests, and chatting with her a bit was a total bonus highlight. Honestly one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've ever had.

Liked absolutely everything. Fantastic property.

Comfortable ground level Room 3 with bedroom, sitting room and sunroom with garden access was exceptional. Owner/manager was very kind and personable. Breakfasts were very complete and delicious with Dutch cheeses, ham, croissants, toast, fruit & yogurt with Dutch baked goods. Unlimited tea, coffee and a good selection of juices etc. Repeat future bookings are planned.

The entrance is dark but the rooms are light and airy.

A real little gem with lovely rooms and shared space area - you can see an interior decorateur was at work here, with great taste and lots of love. Everything in really good shape, comfy beds and nice bathroom. Lovely staff and really nice breakfast room, also to read a book. Nice lounge music. Good choices in the "mini bar"

It was quite a walk to the station. But you can take an Uber (though one time there was no Uber available) for about 12€ or the Bus. One time it was raining so hard that one of the really nice employees drove us to the station, that was so lovely of him. Our room was on the second floor - the stairs (everywhere in the Netherlands, it seems) were really narrow and small, especially when coming down. Ok for us, but nothing for elderly people or a disability.

Hotel Villa Trompenberg is truly a boutique hotel. It is wonderful in all respects. The rooms are spacious, clean, nicely decorated, the beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are impeccably clean. Breakfast are fantastic and pretty much custom prepared each day. Car parking is free, easy and right outside the front door, what more can you ask for? The honor system for bike rental use, extra coffee, snacks and drinks is a wonderful way of providing guests with pretty much everything and anything the could possible desire.

There was nothing we did not like, we have no tips or suggestions for improvement.

This was my second stay at Villa Tompenberg. Our suite was so specious and we loved the private access to the garden. It’s the perfect place for me to stay when I visit my son with easy access to trains for visiting Amsterdam.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

The are is beautiful and quiet. Perfectly located to take the train to Amsterdam or Utrecht. The pictures on the internet are exactly what you get when you step into this beautiful establishment. Fresh breakfast made as you wait,freshly squeezed drinks as well. Everything was perfect. Will definitely be going back and staying again.
