Was a little hesitant to book based off some mixed reviews, but we are SO happy we did. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside (think it was recently renovated?) and the rooms were very clean and updated. This location is secluded and quiet along the harbor with great access to some beach restaurants, but you will definitely want a car if you plan on traveling around the area to anyplace else. Can’t beat the view from the bed of the harbor. The restaurant/bar downstairs was also amazing- yummy food and great drinks! (Must try their espresso martini). Sign up for the breakfast beforehand- the buffet is so large and definitely worth it. Also costs more if you sign up in person.

Should have booked breakfast beforehand since it was more expensive once at the hotel.

Handy for the Newcastle ferry and quiet overnight. Lovely view from the upgraded room over the marina from the veranda.

I didn't have adequate information on the car access arrangements. I had to park at an expensive car park at the marina and walk back to the hotel to be told that we had to go back to the roundabout at the entrance to the strand and enter the barrier to the public car park which accesses the rear of the hotel. There did not appear to be any information on this in the booking nor was there any signage that I seen. It was an additional 15euro par day to park there.

After a last minute ferry cancellation we needed to find somewhere quick until we could leave IJmuiden - what a fantastic hotel! All staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We received a room upgrade and complimentary breakfast on check-in. The room was fantastic with a balcony overlooking the Marina. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of choice and good coffee! Location near to the beach was also lovely and we have promised ourselves to return when the weather is better so we can make the most of its brilliant location. Just fabulous, thank you!

Nothing - it was all fab!

Staff very welcoming and friendly, all with excellent English. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including a fabulous sea view. Facilities on site were very good, including a lovely restaurant, with really good sea food. The breakfast one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. Staff were very knowledgable and helped us plan a day trip using public transport.

We stayed there as our ferry to Newcastle was cancelled for two days due to a storm and we’d rather have been heading home!

The room was excellent for a family, very spacious. The breakfast buffet was lovely and had a good selection. The location was nice, but very quiet at this time of year.

Unfortunately it was more difficult and more costly than we had anticipated to get into Amsterdam from here. There is the 382 bus, but this only goes to Sloterdijk, so we then had to take a train or the metro from there into Amsterdam. Both took time and cost quite a lot of money as we had to buy day passes when we were only doing one short return journey. And we discovered the buses back to IJmuiden aan Zee from Sloterdijk only ran every hour when you got into the evening.

Breakfast repetative. Offer eggs like poached and omelette variations. I have 800000 Hilton points and suggest you try a breakfast there. Breakfast was however good as served but could be a bit better. It was ok.

Outside for coffee is great but when weather poor, the lounge is not inviting and no encouragement to stop. Some furnishings are yuk to look at. Better WiFi please.

Excellent breakfast buffet (gets a bit crowded depending upon the time of arrival), room was nice, spacious - special bonus was the balcony with lake view - ignoring the car-parking :-( , location right at the beach is great for nature lovers - yet gets very crowded over weekends (proximity to Amsterdam).

WiFi quality is very bad - not to the standard of the hotel. Parking system (expensive) car-park should be for hotel guests only and day-visitors parking should be further off.

The staff were so welcoming, gave us valuable info on what to do on a free day (go to Haarlam, not Amsterdam). We had a lovely room overlooking the harbour. The food in the restaurant was great and the wait staff entertaining. We were so happy with our stay. If we take another HAL cruise out of Ijmuiden we will happily stay there again.

It would be helpful to have a shuttle service to the port. It is walking distance but not with suitcases and stairs.

Loved the room with balcony looking out over the Marina , comfort and space with good shower and nice touch of dog bowl, bed and ball confirming pet friendliness.

Dogs aren’t allowed in the extensive bar and restaurant area . This is understandable as there is an open kitchen in the area but there is only a very small area which dogs and their owners can use. Perhaps another layout could work better?

We stayed at this hotel for only one night, but we didn’t want to leave because everything was perfect there. At the reception we were met by a nice girl Julitta, we would like to say hello and words of gratitude to her, she is the person who knows her business. The breakfast was very filling and tasty, the staff was all hospitable and smiling, we will definitely come back here again.
