Very nice kitchen with board games. The hotel is right next to a cute bar.

The cute bar is very loud. So are the people in the party room. However, I stayed in the hotel on a Friday night, so I don't know how the situation is on other days.

Barbarossa Hostel has been a Lodging Staple of mine now for 2 years. Over that time I have had the pleasure of watching it evolve through the thoughtfulness & efforts of its Volunteer Employees, it’s stuff & its owner, all OV whom I consider my Friends & many of whom I follow on Instagram. Throughout the many times I have stayed at Barbarossa, even during the construction, one thing has stayed Consistent: Barbarossa is CLEAN. Always FRESH in the Bathrooms & Showers & the Cooking Area. #BRAVOteamBARBAROSSA!!!

I wish there was Creamer….which I might DONATE…each time I come…so….yeah, I Like EVERYTHING about BARBAROSSA: Especially the LOCATION & the PRICE (half the cost of a CHEAP Hotel!!).

This hotel is simply the best. It has the most kind, welcoming and helpful staff, excellent facilities, and the best location right in the city centre. I arrived about 4 ours earlier than is the hour of check in and it was pouring rain, so the staff let me in so that I could wait in the common hall. They even did my check in earlier so that I could go and rest in my room. Overall, the hotel looks excellent inside and outside, it is perfectly furnished, the cleanliness is impeccable, and the showers and common facilities are in flawless state. The staff makes coffee for everyone for free and are always available to help out and give advice. I will always come back whenever I go to Nijmengen.

Friendly service from the guy at the front desk. Late check in by 10pm was very helpful. Easy to find the hostel, very near Eeigmarket Car Park - cheap & secure car parking for the weekend. Cool kitchen area with plenty of amenities, including a kettle. Sociable guests. Good value - beat Airbnb for price!

The sheets were clean and bed well made but were a little musty. Would also appreciate more soap etc. for the showers.

The décor, the vibe and the amenities are all fantastic. The front desk assistant helped me when I got locked out, I'm visually disabled without my contact lenses and I blindly crept around trying to find help. Initially, what was an awfully awkward interaction became benign once the front desk assistant realized I couldn't see. So credit to the front desk assistant for realizing this and making me feel comfortable.

Honestly, nothing. I would prefer a key card rather than punching in a door code but I'm probably in the minority of that opinion.

I stayed the only one night as I went to the concert. The location is great. Close to the main street. The staff was very nice.

Well organized and very kind staff. Clean, comfortable mattress, kitchen furnished of everything you can possibly need even for a longer stay, everybody were very nice. The guy at the reception even provided me a place to have privacy because I had a work call and helped me to bring my baggage upstairs.

I had a problem because of a broken locker but they were very kind to offer to solve the problem, I think they'll repair it in order to avoid other inconveniences.

The owner is just a really nice guy. It is a very cheap hotel that seems to be of even greater price/quality ratio. It was clear that there is a lot love within and for Hotel Barbarossa

It's not even their fault, just city planning in Nijmegen but I was a little taked aback when I went from city-shop street to dark housing street all of a sudden, in a couple steps. (They do solve the dark by having lights installed above the entrance)
