We stayed in studios located next to each other. I appreciated that two rooms was the same price as the two bedroom apartment. It meant that my sister and I could be close to each other without having to share an apartment. I really appreciate it when regionally based motels apply standards you might typically expect in a central city hotel. This was the case with the White Heron which provided exceptional receptionist services, polished and warm, through to top quality furnishings in the rooms along with cleanliness. I know Gisborne accommodation well because I have been travelling back and forth for years. The recent work done on these rooms is a cut above and real value for money. This will be our go to accommodation from here on.

The studio I stayed in was close to the two bedroom apartment so that family noise travelled. Overall though, it wasn't a problem.

The location was great for me since I was on foot. The shops are accessible by foot from this location. Walking in the morning along the beach promenade to get some exercise was easy to achieve. The spa and laundry facilities was great also and many thanks to management for their assistance and help.

My room was close to the street so traffic was heard. I was so tired it didn't seem to matter once my head hit the pillow.

This is my 3rd stay at White Heron. That says a lot. It is always so peaceful and quiet. The beds are so comfortable, and the spa is amazing. The staff are always on hand to help but give you privacy throughout your stay. Clean and tidy. Air con for the colder nights. Within walking distance to a shop, and you could walk to the city's center if you wanted to. Lovely stay as always! Highly recommended for RnR or that sneaky get away.

The decor, atmosphere and spaciousness of the rooms were fantastic. Easy to get around without having to move things. Loved how clean everything was, and how easy it was to find things. Also loved the REAL MILK bottle that the hosts gave, as opposed to those tiny little tubs of milk that don't do anything decent lol.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

I was very surprised at the spaciousness and appointments in the room; its facilities were impeccably clean and the standard of the daily service of the room was pristine. The diligence of the cleaning staff towards providing a superior service was apparent throughout, along with the warm and friendly welcome we received at reception on arrival. Being retirees, we were initially hesitant to book a room with a higher rack rate but that notion quickly disappeared when we entered our room. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back.

It would've been nicer if car parking was numbered relative to your room number so that your car isn't parked too far away from your room. We had to virtually walk to the last car park closest to the street exit to onboard all our luggage, which was a little annoying. Admittedly the motel was quite full but some rooms cater for three/four persons and might have 2 or more vehicles parked for the 1 room. My recommendation is that during busy times, additional car-park requirements outside of that nominated for a room, should go into the overflow areas or out on the street. Everything else was perfectomondo!

Top Service , friendly staff, comfortable and very clean, great off street parking. Location is excellent, handy to everything, and noise free. A huge thank you for the Easter eggs that were on the table on arrival. The cost for our stay was very reasonable, I recommend this facility 100 %.

When you are having the best time ever in such a wonderful environment its fair to say the time goes way to quickly.

Checking in at reception was simple and easy and the staff were super friendly. I was absolutely blown away by the cleanliness and size of the room. The windows were open which allowed for fresh air to circulate through the room. This being my last night of 2weeks of work travel, it was lovely to be able to sit back and relax in a crisp, fresh and clean place. Could not fault this place. Thank you for ensuring your guests have a pleasant clean stay.

There was a well equipped but simple kitchenette plus daily housekeeping. The suite was immaculate. The living-room dining area spacious and comfortable . Parking in the courtyard fit different sized vehicles.

The room wasn’t soundproof. We found our bedding uncomfortable but that is personal. Each person is different.

Great hosts. Friendly and accommodating. Cleaning Staff are all friendly. Room was really big and well furnished with comfy couches. Easy to heat the room quickly and lovely comfortable beds with electric blankets (if needed). TVs in lounge and two bedrooms which was lovely. Free laundry too.

Would have loved an oven in room, but there were facilities to cover cooking.
