Booked a single room, and then I met Sarah (the manager) who upgraded me to a self-contained unit for the same price. That was a really nice gesture. The unit was just too spacious. It had a lounge or living area - where you had the fridge, cooking top, microwave, kettle all basic things you need. a small dining table with chairs, and a single bed with a wall-mounted tv. Plus you have a double bedroom, and then showers and toilet. The entire unit is just clean and fresh. The place is really quiet and spacious. It was also quiet since it wasn't that busy. Around 7 kms from Gisborne and the beach. Tall trees on one side, the highway on the other. At night, you could just sit there, listen to the sound of the wind against the trees, have a drink and gaze into the stars. The cafe was open in the morning, and guess what - free coffee on the house. It wasn't just about the facilities, it's about people like Sarah, or the coffee lady - that you would want to come back to this place. There's a positive vibe around here.

Accommodation Manager is very friendly and helpful. She managed to allocate our 2 room close to each other and provided 1 room with 2 double bed and single bed. This provide us good stay as we have 1 male and 3 female. Room is clean and spacious, is a lovely stay, very enjoy.

Hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel are not provided.

Bit sad the bar and meals have closed but looking forward to seeing if they come back in summer time!!!

Its such a beautiful location. 5 min drive to CBD. They also got an in-house Tavern which is awesome. I would highly recommend this place to anyone keen to visit Gisborne.

The room smelt nice and was neat and tidy. Friendly staff. What I had expected from a budget room

The doors to the rooms were squeaky needed some WD40 on the hinges. The doors to the toilet and shower were difficult to close and lock.

The location was good, the room had enough space, staff was very good!

There wasn't basic tea or coffee in the room, it was kept outside, but there wasn't any milk.
