Reception was warm and inviting, thank you for the upgrade so my guests and us could all be together. dinner was not as good as last time there, but our waitress was excellent, she went out of her way to please us as we were all elderly. Pork was dry and hard to cutup and eat. Burgers were value for money and enjoyable. Next time hopefully we will be able to use captains table.

Cleaning of rooms could have been bette. I used to be an inspector for motels etc so am picky where I stay. Cold showers not nice, but not hotel fault, as gas bottles had been pinched overnight. All my guests had lovely hot showers.

It’s such a perfect location and such a lovely night away for us for our anniversary, especially as we haven’t had a night away from our kids ever! We were upgraded before we arrived which was amazing and then when we told the staff about our anniversary we were given a bottle of wine to take back to our room which really made the evening special. Everyone we dealt with was just amazing.

The only downside that I forgot to mention to the hotel at the time was that the bath plug wouldn’t stay down properly so I couldn’t have a bath, it just kept draining out. But otherwise I could not fault the property at all.

We had an upgrade on our room which was lovely, comfortable bed, big modern bathroom, fridge, balcony and nice armchairs. We had drinks and dinner in the bar/restaurant on the evenings of our stay and found the staff knowledgeable, smiling and enthusiastic. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and the food was great although one dish (new menu) was a bit disappointing but I’m sure they remedied it as we were asked if we had enjoyed it.

Our only criticism of the hotel was it was noisy in the early morning from the heavy trucks passing up the main road, not terrible as we are good sleepers but if you aren’t take a room on the back of the hotel.

Breakfast was very nice. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Everything was clean and the outlook from the windows and balcony was beautiful.

There was a party in the hotel and we were aware of the noise. However, we understood that people like to have a good time when they are celebrating so we didn't mind. We were in units 3, 4, 5 and could hear muffled conversations from other units until quite late. But the rooms were clean, comfortable and warm so we were still very happy with our stay.

Having Booked This Hotel From Australia we arrived to Visit Grand Kids in Greytown , The Hotel was a pleasant change to were we normal stay , The Room was Roomy and Comfortable . The Room Rate was on the Hi side but Was worth the extra , the Bar and Restaurant were great and we ate in the Pub Side Of the Hotel which was very good .

Was a Little Hot at Night even as the weather outside was cool the room was warm . we had a fan to use which was great .. Had to carry My Bags up a flight of stair which was a bit hard for a 78 year old ...

The staff were very welcoming & helpful at all times. We loved the overall decor of the whole hotel. Our accommodation was luxurious & comfortable, with quality furniture & accessories throughout. The bathroom with the walk in shower was great. Although The Swan is a relocated building and we visited in mid July, we were cosy throughout our stay. The central location worked well for us & we had a delicious meal in the Gastro restaurant.

We can’t really think of anything. We had thought that its location on the main road might be a bit noisy traffic wise in the morning. It wasn’t!

Beautiful room and very grateful for the upgrade to the Dark Skies Suite.

The check in experience was less than ideal. When we arrived to check in we were completely ignored. The girl at front desk was on a call and seemed to be having an issue with something. We understand that, but she never once looked up and indicated that we were there and that she would be with us soon. Eventually a guy came out for the second time and checked us in. When asking for a receipt for the accommodation, I got an eftpos chit for Table 85!!! He did apologise and gave us proper receipt for accommodation. But at the end of the day it was a very shabby non welcoming check in. We will be back in approximately 6 weeks and although we would love to stay again we are not sure if we will due to our experience.

Location, facilities, room, bed and staff were all fantastic, especially Femke who was a great table host.

The only complaint was the evening meal in the Captains dining room. The price of the fillet beef was considerably more expensive than the online menu ($42 up to $54 each) and that did not include potatoes etc. It was also the smallest steak I have ever seen and flavourless. Certainly not good value for money and left feeling like I had been mugged...... and hungry.

Lovely presented hotel, clean decent sized room with a balcony. Sheets, towels and bed were soft and comfortable. Shower had great pressure! Staff were all friendly and the dinner I had at the pub was delicious. I didn't use the wifi so I can't comment on that.

My room (number 3) was the closest to the road so even though Greytown is a very quiet town there were quite a few trucks travelling through during the night which I could hear. I'd recommend asking for one of the rooms further away from the road.

Our check in was easy and well received by the fun and smiling staff. We were instantly put at ease on check in. The room was very warming and well appointed and quiet with a nice second level view of the well kept gardens. It had all that we needed for our one night stay. The lighting was good as was the shower and bathroom. The location was perfect to restaurants and Cafes for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay. Note there are narrow but beautifully carpeted stairs for those people who may find it difficult carrying their luggage, so you may be best to ask for a ground floor room.

The sitting chairs were sitting under the TV and there was no air-conditioning, however a good fan was provided.
