Lovely, convenient location to the Mystery Creek Event centre, and a quiet farmland location. I even liked being woken up by a distant rooster :) Friendly staff and late reception hours. I got some fresh milk for a morning coffee. The room I got was HUGE: One dbl bedroom, a single bdm, and the lounge featured two more beds. Decent kitchen amenities, with liquid soap and shampoo in the shower.

Pathways could use some night lighting to help avoid puddles and low-level obstacles. It wasn't very insulated. My stay was over a cold night. Bedding was adequate, but a little thin. Two lights operating on a two-switch circuit were having problems. Turning them on with one switch: fine. Using another switch: flickering, like there was a faulty connection (I reported the fault).

We really liked the location as we were working at Mystery Creek. The room we had was small but comfortable, and the bed was really good. We enjoyed the cook house and having the ability to make our own meals. It had two lovely big tables with bench seats, as well as couches, and all the pots, pans, cutlery and cleaning equipment required. We had a friendly greeting on arrival too, which always feels good. Overall, we were really happy with our stay.

This is not a complaint, but the walls between rooms are a bit thin so probably be careful about the volume of your discussions, or what you are planning after dark. But honestly, that's so minor when the value of this place is considered.

We stayed in a cabin. If you aren't going to be spending time there during the day it was a great place. The bed was the most comfortable that we have had anywhere in NZ or Australia - firm but not hard. The shower pressure was fabulous. The shared kitchen was really well stocked. It was quiet & easy to find.

The numbers above the doors were quite hard to see, until you knew what you were looking for! The only other thing was it would have been nice to have had 2 chairs in the cabin so one of us didn't have to sit on the bed to eat breakfast. Both of those were very minor things.

I liked that it was so cosy and the onwers were so welcoming and friendly the rooms are what you pay for and the shower was great, room was warm. overall we enjoyed our time and looking forward to staying again.

didnt like that i had to go fill up our jug in cook house, and maybe tv should be placed in front of bed as we kept on having to sit side ways to watch it maybe there could be a lil couch in the room. also maybe put forks, knives an spoons in there just annoying having to go over cook house to keep getting our stuff.

Family unit. Rooms double and single, nice and roomy. Kitchen nice sized for cooking with utensils, pots, crockery. Nice big table to fit 6 easy a spacious dining/lounge area, nice big sofa and 2 single beds which took up little space of the living area. Better than what we expected. Will definitely return if in the area.

A working oven would have been nice but a menial negative.

Perfect location for our visit to the motorhome expo at Mystery Creek Events Centre - just a walk across the road! We were looking for simple, reasonably priced accommodation where we could make our own meals and feel free to come and go, and Mystery Creek Motel was ideal. We received a friendly greeting on arrival, our room was comfortable, and the separate, shared kitchen block had everything we needed for cooking and dining.

Our room was basic but spotless, warm and very tastefully decorated. There was a fridge and milk, and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower pressure was excellent and beds super comfortable. There's a separate kitchen cabin which looked very kitted out and we would definitely use that next time. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful area, The beds are just so comfy. OMG the the shower was amazing. Nice big open space from the kitchen to the lounge. The nights we spent there were two cold nights, but the room we had stayed warm throughout the nights. 5 🌟 from my partner and I.

Loved the location, peaceful and beautiful! Inbetween Hamilton and Cambridge only 35 minutes from Hobbiton! It was a lovely apartment and had nearly everything you needed! Fantastic value for money and we loved seeing the rabbits everyday!! Xx

Didn't have a kitchen knife to cut up food? Shower head could do with a clean and the show drain! Also a curtain for the back door?

No extra charge for extra persons. Quite spacious. Location to Events Centre.

The shower goes cold and ran out a couple of times.The hand basin in room 11 is stained and looks like coffee splatter. Kind of embarrassing.
