The room was very cosy, the bed was very comfortable. The shower had very good water pressure. The room was clean, and there was a microwave oven, fridge and kettle. The staff were helpful and gave us extra cups and another chair.

The fan in the bathroom was not working, and we missed not having an actual table to eat our breakfast, instead we used the desk space next to the TV, but of course there were space limitations and we understand that.

Staff were wonderful, location was good for what I was there for, room was very comfortable even for an extended stay.

Location was great, 10min easy walk into town. Bed was comfy, small amenities like tea, coffee were replenished daily. Room had all necessities like microwave, fridge, kettle. Parking was good and host had several cats who were the cutest!

The motel was next to the main road which was quite loud for me, but slept soundly with ear plugs.

This was a last minute one-night stay during our trip down the island. Very happy to find this studio-motel available - just what we needed. Comfortable bed, great shower, super clean, warm on late arrival. Plus essentials for supper & breakfast - toaster/kettle/microwave/crockery/cutlery for two/plunger coffee/cookie/milk. Car park right in front of room.

The people. My travel arrangements got changed several times at very short notice because of weather and technical issues affecting my flights but the people at Bella Vista were very helpful, understanding and flexible. The room was warm on arrival (late on a cold winter night) well equipped and comfortable. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Nothing to not like at the Bella Vista Kaikoura. Staff, great. Room, great. Value for money, great.

It was all great - lovely big clean room, amazing shower, fresh milk, very good value. Would definitely stay there again (if we could request a firmer mattress).

The main down side was that our bed was very soft and we both woke up with bad backs! And there was some traffic noise, but we put the fan on which meant we couldn't hear the road.

Location was great and close to most activities we wanted to do. Easy to find on the main road. Room was comfortable enough for the one night. Plenty of parking and was able to part right out front of room.

Check in only at specific times. Check in wasn't available immediately when we arrived. Heating was not very efficient and only on one side of the room. Whoever sleeps closest will get hot while the other will be cold.

We asked for two single beds and got a family room containing two bedrooms! Very spacious apartment. Good parking both on site and nearby. Location not too far from main street but a steep hill has to be overcome to get back to Bella Vista which was ok for us but may not suit everyone.

Great location close to Kaikoura township, nice and quiet, clean tidy rooms. Julia was really helpful and moved us into Unit 15 upstairs with a great view even during a busy holiday time of year (Christmas). Unit 3 downstairs was lovely too, with good sized room, table, bathroom etc. Great place to stay.

We arrived after a long drive , went to reception and was told in no uncertain terms that we were 1hr and 15 mins early and would have to pay for an early check in ??? I declined and said we would pop back, which we did !!! Some say let’s see if the room is ready ?? That was never an option !! It was the way it was said ! So not the welcome you expect ! Left a sour taste after that !
