It’s a new motel and everything feels fresh and clean. It’s perfect for families traveling with children. One thing that really stood out to me was the on-site washer-dryer combo machine-such a rare and thoughtful touch! I didn’t have to lug all our dirty laundry to a shared laundry room and then go back to transfer clothes to a separate dryer. The customer service was also exceptional. We had already checked out in the morning, but my girls got seasick after whale watching. I drove back to the motel and asked if we could use the bathroom in any uncleaned room. The lady said of course with giving us fresh towels. Thank you so much—you truly saved our day! The girls were able to change clothes, and we left feeling refreshed and ready to head to Nelson. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back for the next school holiday!

Our brief overnight stay was thoroughly enjoyed by our family of two adults and two children. Its prime location directly on the waterfront offers fantastic views and easy access to Kaikoura's rugged coast. The apartment itself was impressively spacious, providing ample room for everyone to relax. A standout amenity for us as transient travelers was the washer and dryer combo – an absolute lifesaver and hugely convenient! We also appreciated the strong and reliable WiFi connection, which is always a bonus when traveling with kids. We truly wished we could have extended our stay to enjoy more of what the apartment and location had to offer.

The only minor point for improvement was that the apartment tended to be a bit cold. However, this didn't significantly detract from our overall positive experience. We would happily recommend the Kaikoura Waterfront Apartment, especially for families seeking a comfortable and well-located base in Kaikoura.

Great spot with view of the water. Quiet and relaxing, across the road from the beach, shops just down the road. Apartment was clean and fresh, recently renovated, and had everything we needed (especially the washer/dryer after playing in the ocean). Staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Only in the area for one night, would have loved another night or two. Felt like a home away from home. And special mention - they are equiped to make holidays accessible for those who need a little extra like ramps for wheelchairs etc. Thanks for a great last night in NZ!

Right across the road from the beach and despite the cold we sat out a few nights and listened to the waves on the beach. Just a short walk into town for all the restaurants etc. Very peaceful as it was out of peak season but still a few people around. The owners/managers were lovely and looked after us when we forgot an important charging cable.

Old school TV setup - not a big one but it would have been nice to watch a streaming service at night. Not much else to complain about, we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location on the waterfront. Short walk into town. Clean, comfortable. Tea, coffee and milk provided. Washing powder supplied. Staff on reception were helpful.

Only two small saucepans, would have been useful to have a larger pan to cook for a family of 4. Instructions for the washing machine didn’t match the machine supplied so we weren’t able to use the drier function. Lady at reception was very helpful and took us to the laundry room instead.

Excellent location - right across from the beach and a short, scenic walk from town. Beautiful view. Clean and well equipped. Nice pillows. Air con great. Only 1.5 rolls of toilet paper for few night stay but staff so friendly and helpful with rectifying this and other minor issues.

Would have loved an umbrella or shade for the balcony as it got verrry hot but view was so nice. Bathroom fan very poor - could then do with bug net on window.

Location good and fairly close to town centre. Free parking. Friendly welcoming staff. Beach and park are just across the road. Great views of the Seaward Kaikoura mountains. I would happily stay again. I stayed next to a unit that was wheelchair friendly. So good location for those with mobility issues. I was told that the one bedroom apartment hand no cooking facilities. So knew that. The two bedroom units did have facility for cooking. Just a suggestion, not a complaint. Adding a basic microwave would greatly enhance the service in the single bedroom unit.. Nothing fancy. Then one could at least reheat a frozen meal or pre-cooked food.

This unit was fantastic. We only needed one of the 2 bedrooms but appreciated having somewhere to put our bags after 2 weeks on the road. Great space in this unit. well appointed kitchen with everything we could have wanted, plenty of room in the loungeroom, great large fridge, great TV and table to sit at. The front verandah had an amazing view and was big. The lady upon check-in was super friendly and the position away from the hustle of the main street was perfect. We were still close enough to walk into town.

Only a small complaint was the bed is probably due for a new mattress. Bit of a dip going on. Which no-one would know unless they were told. We had stayed in 7 different places in various accommodation over the previous 13 days in great beds, so this was only a minor problem.

Nice big bed, in a well equipped little apartment. The staff were all amazing - more than obliging to help with whatever we needed. It’s about a 20 minute walk out from the main town, so a nice way to stretch your legs before/after dinner. There is plenty of car parking too - with a dedicated spot for every unit.

We didn’t have a view from our unit, but others looked like they would have had a nice view out to the beach, especially those on the upper level.

The apartment was so lovely and very comfortable. The beach is right across the road and it's very close to town, just a short drive to the supermarket and shops within walking distance. We were very pleased with our stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again. All facilities like a stove/oven was great too.

The only downside I guess is they don't do daily top ups of clean towels or tea/coffee etc, which wasn't a big deal for us at all. There is a washer/dryer there though.
