Toilet was surprisingly in pristine condition, considering that a lot of these motels or similar can be quite old. Ceiling heater in toilet was so warm and nice because it was the first we saw on the trip, but subsequently realised that was quite a common heater. Stayed in cosy 1 bedroom apartment, with a small kitchen for me to prep breakfast for next day when we head off! A pity it was just for a 1night stay, since it was a stopover betweenPicton ferry terminal and Lake tekapo. but was definitely a good 1 night short stay!

Had a great stay at this motel. We were greeted by a super friendly guy on arrival, and he was very accommodating to our needs, and usefully pointed out the great spots for restaurants and a brilliant walking trail that we ended up running along. Room was spacious and everything was very clean and no issues. The motel is very well situated, very close to the check in for the famous Whale Watch cruise company, and to the town centre. We also liked the fact that there is easy access to the beach right at the back of the motel.

The kitchenette is a little limited, so preparing a dinner in the evening might be tricky, but we took the advice and got a delicious takeaway from down the road.

Everything was good. Beach is just a short walk away and easily accessible. You can park right in front of your room and it was very easy for me. Restaurants, supermarkets and facilities are available in close proximity. When I arrived the check-in staff were not available however they sent me very clear guidelines in advance to help me find my room and they kept everything ready for my arrival. They also followed up to ensure I received their instructions and I was okay. Really appreciate that.

Laundry services were available only from 9am-9pm. It did not match with my travel plans. It will help travelers like myself a lot if 24hour laundry option can be added.

Not so stylish from the outside, this is a little gem in the tourist hub of Kaikōura. The rooms are generously sized and well thought out. Surprisingly well decorated in a simple fashion inside, the place works. Location next to a shared path to the township, and the towns supermarket makes it very convenient. Good laundry facilities are a bonus. Staff deserve a special mention ~ all were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my three day stay, which I would have liked to have been longer.

Power on the long walls of the property meant that it was a bit of a stretch to plug things in when sitting at the table!

Simple but very clean motel. Had everything we needed. Great to have the corn hole and sandpit and balls and bats for kids at the back, very quiet, didnt hear road traffic. Neat wee beach spot with picnic table for amazing sunrise views! Delicious hot chocolate provided and very clean unit. Great to have SKY tv and the shower, although small was very hot and amazing pressure! Owners very helpful and friendly, nothing was a problem :)

Thicker towels in the bathroom and a handtowel in the kitchen.

I appreciate a lot for the service from the Motel owner. She and her daughter were so helpful that they have picked us up at the bus stop and sent us back the next morning, since we don't have a car and our luggage was heavy and the bus stop was a bit away from the Motel. Room was very nice and functional. You have everything at hand and even cook a little bit if hungry. Heater and fan is provided which is very considerate. The supermarket just a few footsteps next to the Motel. Great view of the sea behind the Motel.

Great location, the Motel located next to supermarket which is convenient if wanted to cook as the room has kitchen facilities for cooking. 10/10 hospitality from the man who checked us in, very helpful with suggestions of restaurant and attractions and marked on the map for us. At the back of the motel and walk to the beach, amazing spot for sunrise. Room was great, we had a great and comfortable stay here.

The location was very good as it backed on to the sea and was a short walk from town. The family were very welcoming and friendly. The daughter Tanwa picked us up from the train station and drove us to see some of the sights . She also dropped us back to the station when we were leaving. She was more than generous with her time and it meant a lot to us. The motel units were ideal and we had laundry facilities .

Booked for an overnight stay before whale watch, and very pleasantly surprised. Large room, all facilities you would aim for and v easy access to town and whale watching office. Even has private beach access. Was very windy n chilly when we were there. Supermarket just down way. If was going back would 100% stay here again. Just dropped a point as if you do t have car is a bit out of town, and long walk, but with car is a superb spot.

Loved the unit we were in. Private with quick beach access which was lovely to go to and sit. The bbq areas were great (didn’t use this time) but were defy a bonus and will in future stays. Very welcoming upon arrival and let us stay a little longer to watch the train go by. Also close to supermarket and great cafes, eateries nearby. Definitely recommend

Just the bed a tad hard.
