Amazing one-bedroom apartment. Comfortable couch, full dining table, and amazing bed. The sea is right out your door. Short walk into the town centre and a comfortable walk out to the seal colony. We will be back for sure.

There is only a microwave, so in-house cooking (self-catering) is limited.

Very comfortable house with everything we needed. The location was perfect - right across the road from the beach and easy walking distance to town. Hosts were super friendly and also allowed us to help ourselves to their veggie garden, which was much appreciated - mandarins were a hit with the kids! Thank you!

The house could have done with heating in the bedrooms, we found it cold during the night. (Small fan heaters were available, but we didn't want to risk leaving them on all night.) The glass door in the main bedroom needs a curtain/blind as it lets too much light in if you like a dark bedroom.

Really comfortable stay in a good location. 10 minute walk from town and right next to Dolphin Encounters. The apartment was clean and spacious, and the bed was huge! We both slept well. There were free washers and driers for the laundry, which was brilliant. There was an area to cook as well, if you needed to.

We unfortunately had a "Kelp Fly Encounter" due to the windy weather. A big group of them came in through the shutter window in the bathroom, at night, whilst I was in the shower. Thankfully, Bruce was quick to help, after us calling, and provided us with some fly spray, which sorted it all out.

We recently stayed at Kaikoura Beach Motel and found it to be a convenient and efficient choice for our short visit. Although the rooms are not overly spacious, they are adequately sized, comfortable, and maintained with a high standard of cleanliness. The ability to park directly in front of our room was a significant convenience, especially when returning after a day of sightseeing. One of the standout features was the streamlined check-in and checkout process, which was handled entirely via email and in-room information, eliminating the need to visit the reception. This was particularly appreciated and made our stay smooth and hassle-free. Overall, Kaikoura Beach Motel offers a practical and pleasant stay, especially for travelers looking for simplicity and efficiency in their accommodations.

We stayed in a lovely studio. The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well. There’s a small shared guest kitchen with sandwich press, microwave, electric wok and toaster. Fine for breakfast and simple meals. The laundry room is great - two washers, two driers, iron and ironing board, all free to use. Best of all, the staff are wonderful here, Poppy and Bruce and the other staff are all very kind, helpful people. Kaikoura is a beautiful spot.

For what we paid I thought this place was spot on, no complaints.

Right at the centre of activities and a few minutes walk to the beach. Across the road. Tours (like Dolphin Encounter is just a block away), restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops is just several meters away. No need to drive. Poppy was very helpful to rearrange my booking. The place is pretty quiet and it has a common kitchen which is very convenient. Felt safe in the area.

No aircon...as I stayed this month (early spring) it is okay. I am not sure summer time in Kaikoura.

Great location by the beach, just outside of town. We had the big appartment with 4 bedroom which was spacious and comfortable. very lovely welcome and helpful with our request (got a late check out). The group loved it

Due to the layout of the apartment, there was only one bathroom/ toilet for 7 people, but we managed. Also, the bathroom was not separate from toilet, which meant only one person could use the facility at any given time. Otherwise we were very happy with everything.

The location was fantastic, right opposite the beach. We could see the sunrise and take a walk in the cool breeze early in the morning. The place was also close to the main shopping strip and restaurants. Main attractions were also easy to get to. The beds were clean and firm which we loved. The bathroom facilities was also fantastic and the showerhead was really great for easing sore musles at the end of the night.

Lighting could be a bit brighter at night or management could make the lights on the outside walkways all light up. We arrived late at night and it was a bit hard to see the driveway and the room number.

Small outdated TV.Set too high in lounge.During day hard to see as sunlight came in from large side window. We put cushions along window to block out the sun,but did not work very well.The single cane seat is not a good idea. There should be 2 X 2 seaters in a unit that sleeps 4.The dining table could be set back a little to allow additional 2 seater. All other facilities were excellent.This is constructive critisicism and did not detract from a very pleasant 3 day stay. We love Kaikoura.A very special place not far from our home in Christchurch.

The apartment was lovely, very clean, modern, comfortable, newly refurbished. Location was good, opposite the beach and not too far to walk into town. Easy check in and out - I was able to store my luggage for the day when I left and Michele very kindly gave me a lift to the bus stop to save me walking with my case in the heat.

Nothing, but might be helpful to have a cupboard/wardrobe and/or some drawers. It was fine for me on my own for a couple of days, but I’d imagine others might want to unpack some things especially if staying longer, and there isn’t anywhere to put clothes etc.
