I had a delightful stay at this beachside motel. The property is well-maintained, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which added to the positive experience. The beach being right opposite the property was a highlight—perfect for kids to have fun and for adults to enjoy a serene stroll, even though it was quite windy due to the harbor. That said, getting food was a bit challenging, as there were limited options available nearby, and many closed earlier than expected. Addressing this could make the stay even more enjoyable for guests. Overall, I found the stay to be reasonably priced and would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the hospitality!

We were fortunate to get the newly renovated unit (#4 I believe) and were told we were the second guests to stay there. Everything was clean and shiny and new and comfortable! Our criteria was a room with a fridge so the stove top in the kitchen and all the flat/white ware was a great bonus. A beautiful selection of teas, coffees, and hot chocolate made for a cozy evening. The rooms are beautifully designed and the beds were very comfortable. The little porch with table and chair and a somewhat "water view" was the perfect spot for our morning coffee and a wine at sunset. Also a nice touch is the little book and games library

We can appreciate the reasoning but it would have been nice to be able to make use of the spa with our two daughters.

Rooms were very clean and tidy - comfortable beds; slightly dated but they make the most of what they've got and you can tell the place is cared for and well looked after. If you want a humble, kiwi classic this is a great place.

Small grumbles - had everything I needed. However, shower was abysmal - please change your shower heads and get water pressure sorted. Couch could have been bigger too. Could have done with an extra small table in the main bedroom for putting suitcase on - I moved one of the bedside tables and used that instead.

All we needed was somewhere to stay while we worked on our property, we needed a kitchen, toilet, shower and bed this had that. Had wifi so I could study. TV was a bit of a mission for us oldies but we have it sussed for next time. We also enjoyed the spa at the end of the day.

We're oldish and we found the two arm chairs were a bit uncomfy also the carpet felt damp to walk on and to lay on while I did my exercises. The dehumidifier was going when we arrived so we knew there was dampness but they were still damp when we left. We were there for two nights. This being said we will definitely book there again.

After our arrival from Waiheke (whole day journey) we dined at Opononi Hotel, which was FUN as well as having great food. We enjoyed our breakfast at the cafe next to iSite very much and then we headed off to visit the highly recommended Manea Footprints of Kupe centre - this was amazing for me, a Kiwi pākehā, who has, over time, been introduced to multiple versions of the origins of Māori, the various gods and personas involved involved in the origin, departure, journey and ultimate arrival of people who have become to be known as Māori. For some people it may be challenging to understand however I would sincerely encourage people to open their minds to the amazing maritime navigation and seafaring abilities of Māōri ancestors (tupuna).

Right across the road from the beach, amazing view in the evening and morning. Perfect location. Very clean, tidy and loved the simple decor especially the art work including the down to the cushions. Would love to know the brand of the queen mattress especially the two (2x) stretcher beds too as they we’re the most comfortable of all.

Having to leave and not being able to stay an extra night due to being fully booked that weekend 😍 We will defiantly back and we will be booking a few nights well in advance. . Great host too, very informative, helpful and understanding due to arriving later than planned. Appreciate your service A+

We were impressed by the spotless cleanliness of the entire room. The location is unbeatable—situated right across from a stunning beach, offering breathtaking views and easy access for morning walks or lazy afternoons by the sea. The convenience of being within walking distance to all the local amenities. Whether it was a quick trip to the grocery store, dining at charming local restaurants, cafe everything was just a short stroll away.

Not being able to extend our stay. We were there overnight for a family bereavement.

+ super friendly host/staff + right on roadside, right on beach, looking right at the dunes/harbour entrance, with the sunset right there + very clean with daily servicing of towels etc + don’t expect a flashy new build but all the facilities are working and maintained well, new-ish paint/wallpaper gives a nice modern feel + airy room, with sufficient space and well thought out with plenty tabletops to put things on and stools/hooks etc in the bathroom + the lighthouse is quite unique with a pretty little garden around it + parking a bit tight, but felt safe right in front of unit and down driveway (no road noise too) + we didn’t use the spa and BBQ but a family group next door did and looked like they had an amazing time

- more lights in the lounge would be nice for reading. Our lounge had a yellow bulb, whereas the room had a couple bright white lights - can sometimes hear neighbours’ TV / snoring / murmurs of conversations. Didn’t worry us, and we weren’t expecting perfect sound insulation anyway :)

Location by the beach. Spacious and very clean. Had all the amenities needed for a two night stay if not longer. V close to the centre of Opononi which is a small delightful place , as a very good cafe which is then a very good thai restaurant in the evening. Local supermarket too. Close to the Kouto boulders worth a visit.

When I first arrived on the Sunday afternoon there was some loud music coming from, I think a residential accommodation next door. It only,lasted a couple of hours, after that it was very quiet.

They were so kind and warm. We had a malfunction in one of our car engines and got delayed. They rang to find out what time we were arriving. They kept the laundry open and accessible for us since I was desperate to wash several bags of clothes. Loved our stay- it was too short but we all found our beds comfortable and nicely done. Everything was complete in the kitchen

The only thing lacking would be a sofa bed.
