Did not have breakfast. May have been a mix up in the room I was given. I'm sure I ordered single room, 2 beds, but on arrival was only 1 double bed in our room/cabin. Rang the manager, advised him of "potential" mix up and asked if he had another room/cabin with 2 beds which he did at the same price..... hence my "confusion " when we went into the first room with 1 bed, anyway we were able to swap no extra charge. Would definitely use them again. 5 star rating.....

Friendly staff, easy check in and out. Very clean and tidy Pet friendly so we brought our dog and it was perfect! The rooms were good sized, bigger than we expected and nicely decorated. Modern rooms with a heatpump for the chilly nights. Spa bath in bathroom was amazing as was the shower! Beds were very comfortable and bedrooms were large. Very happy with our stay! We felt safe and we couldn't hear any road noise so was peaceful! There is also a little playground in the middle with grass for children! Will definitely stay again!

Great location to stop when driving from Auckland to Wellington. Clean and comfortable. We loved everything about our stay except that the beds were too soft. We would still stay again though.

The beds were very soft which is not great for our aging backs. On the plus side, there were 2 beds in our room so at least we could stretch out and not suffer soft bed roll-together.

The hosts were very accommodating of our late check-in, with easy to follow and timely communication.

Even with the air conditioner on, the front room got a bit hot, maybe due to heated floors? I can see why they are great in winter, but perhaps they can be turned off over summer. We couldn’t find a switch to do that. It wasn’t a big issue and the positives made up for that by far.

Great motel, much bigger than expected. Room was lovely, away from the road. Comfy beds, huge bath - only disappointment was a late night ant invasion!! Also got the morning sun which the hotels over the road didn't!

Bigger TV would have been nice but not a major problem at all! Also didn't like the ant invasion which was traced to an open sugar packet in the tea caddy, which I removed so should be great moving forward 👍

Clean and comfortable. We had a two bedroom suite and it was roomy and comfortable. We were travelling with a service dog and there was plenty of grass around the back for him. Easy parking at door of unit. Easy to find on main road, great location.

It's quite cool in Taihape and while the unit had a heatpump, small heaters in the bedrooms or else electric blankets would have been welcome.

It was a large, well furnished unit with a nice treed patio area. It offered a very inexpensive laundry facility for guests. Good price point and more than we expected.

On occasion you could hear a little street traffic, but it did not inhibit our sleep. The only suggestion I would have is to add a small rug right inside the entrance. Although there was a welcome mat outside, I felt we tracked in too much in that beautiful room.

We are elderly guests and had asked for a shower cubicle but got unit with shower over the bath which from a safety point of view was not suitable for us. We have stayed here many times before and not had this problem in the past.

Location and communication before arrival. Always a nice place to stay. Usually spotless clean

shower was very unclean under the slip mat. Dirt,hairs and a dead bug 😒. May have been missed by cleaner on last clean?

We needed a midpoint to stay on our drive to Wellington. After a long drive through the national forest, we were thrilled to arrive and find extremely comfortable beds and a warm room. The manage was nice and helped us get dinner before the restaurant next door closed (I wasn't in a big rush to get over there, but he told us to get in before 7:30, which we did and it worked out perfectly). My kids loved the small playground and the friendly cat.

The carpets felt a little dusty and dirty, but really that was fine for this being a motel.
