The linen is professionally laundered. Beautiful wool duvets. High water pressure.

While everything is as good as it can possibly be, the walls are very thin. Even the most careful guests make noise and my sleep was disturbed several times by just ordinary human noises.

The room and the facilities in general were very clean, tidy and modern. The beds were comfy and it was convenient with toiletries and towels provided. The shared spaces were also tidy and spacious. The location is great as it is really close to everything!

The room was VERY small and my son (teenager) almost couldn't fit in the top bunk without almost bumping the smoke detectors (we stayed in a double room: double bed + 2 bunks) - it was very tightl! Also, the room is by the main road, which makes it super noisy so you have to choose between opening the windows and having the noise of the road full on, or closing the double-glazed windows and dying of heatstroke (no aircon was available).

It was exceptionally clean and well maintained, great location and value for money. Very comfortable beds and very quiet (the supplied ear plugs were not needed!). Communal shower was clean, had great pressure and had a hand held attachment. Communal kitchen was very well equipped and clean. We all found the beds to be very comfortable and the mini wardrobe/storage unit was cute and practical. We had a late check in so we didn't meet the staff initially, but there was a friendly professional email sent in advance to advise about how to check in late. The next morning staff were polite and friendly.

We arrived from the north and it was dark and raining, but we found our Barracks room easily enough. For some reason, we were puzzled about which communal kitchen/lounge was ours and we wandered all over the complex, trying the key unsuccessfully in lots of doors. Just as we were about to contact the mobile number supplied for support, we figured it out! (not really a problem though)

When I booked through booking.com I didn’t realise I had booked into a lodge. Normally we have BNB as we travel with our children. But I must say LKNZ Lodge accommodation was excellent, great facilities right in town… 2 minute drive to our favourite restaurants we go to each year. Staff and receptionist were great down to earth people. Even though there were other people at the lodge we had a pleasant stay. Thanks Guys!!!

No negatives perfect right in town.

This was a very basic room. One double bed, a rack to hang stuff, a small rubbish bin and a heater. Enough power points to charge stuff. For The price I expected it to be basic, but it was clean, tidy and bed comfortable. We did the shared bathroom, and it was very clean. The kitchen and lounge were great. The kitchen had stove fridge and lots of utensils. I would stay here again.

Walking on the veranda to the bathroom the floorboards creaked.

It has everything you need. Everything is clean. The staff were really helpful. We were able to txt them which was really helpful when showing up after the office is closed and leaving before it opens. I think this place is really great value for the cost. It’s excellent being able to walk to everything in the main part of the town so easily.

Just be aware that it’s a big house like building so you can hear other people. But everyone was quiet and respectful when we were there so this wasn’t an issue for sleeping. It seems like one of the quieter back packers and very family suitable which was awesome.

Liked the location as we did a day trip to the mountain. Liked the sauna/spa . Enjoyed the kitchen set up and upstairs lounge area to relax after a day in the snow before traveling home the next morning. Very friendly staff!

The neighbour's were a bit loud early in the morning when they left to go to the mountain. But not a big deal

Close to town. The hot tub and sauna soothes aching muscles after walks. The staff went over and beyond to make my stay absolutely amazing. Love the waffles from the cafe. Thank you Ella and Bridget!

A bit of a walk from the train station if you don't have a vehicle. Better to travel with a backpack rather than luggage if you are arriving on the Northern Explorer.

Great setup with a full kitchen with all equipment needed. Nice dining and lounge room. Bunk room warm and comfortable beds. Nice and quite and almost had the place to ourselves as very few others staying at the time. Good drying room for ski gear.

The bathroom was outside down the veranda - not so great for night time access.

We were looking to do the Alpine Crossing hike. Location was perfect especially that there are pickup shuttles from in front of the motel. Customer service is top notch. They were very friendly and helpful. Got us everything we need. Room is very clean with comfortable bed. All the shared spaces are also clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Shoutout to the team 😊
