Everything was so well thought out - the lovely welcome packages including great local beers, the breakfast provided and also the offer to book restaurants. The location is also absolutely stunning! The spa pool was really welcome, especially after a long day doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing! The rooms were very comfortable and cosy. Scott was super friendly and accommodating with good recommendations and obvious passion for the area. We loved our stay and would happily go back if we were ever in the area again.

The room was cozy and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay (even local craft beer!). The hot tub was a treat, and Scott was a friendly, thoughtful and helpful host - always responsive, and he even accommodated my charging an EV overnight at the property. The kitty (Autumn) that lives in their house was a totally sweetheart.
The outdoor space is not completely private, but the owners have put in a movable screen you can use to shield the space more if you'd like.

We loved the place. Scott was a great host, explaining everything and giving tips for the evening dinner. As only 2 rooms of the 3 were booked, we had the big Jacuzzi all for ourselves, which was perfect after the long walk of the Tongariro Crossing. The weather was nice so we could have breakfast on the terrace with a beautiful view of the mountains. Thanks for the warm welcome.
The room was indeed small, but that's mentioned in the description. 18 sqm don't grow by themselves, as Scott liked to explain.

Staying at Two Rivers was a delightful experience. Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, the guest house exuded warmth and coziness. Our room was tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and equipped with all necessary amenities. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, offering personalized attention and helpful tips on local attractions. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring delicious homemade treats that set the perfect tone for exploring the area. The peaceful ambiance of the garden added to the overall charm. Two Rivers provided a relaxing retreat with genuine hospitality, making it a top choice for anyone seeking comfort and a homely atmosphere.

Very attentive owner who seems to love every inch of his place and aimed to share this feeling with the guests. Every detail in the suite is useful and brings comfort and feeling at home. Jacuzzi is a great option. One and only place for hedonists who want to get more than backpackers’ places usually offer. The Brie in Cyprus Tree is smth you cannot miss, must have.
Nothing. The suite is not big but we felt comfortable as everything is at its place. Very ergonomic space. Sorry Chris - May be you need to put a sign that the guests shall knock the door to avoid them tumbling in like we did after 4 hours of drive.

Beautiful location, although the room was small it was very well organised. The large selection of breakfast items, including for vegans, fresh fruit, nuts and crisps, was very generous. We really appreciated the personal welcome and detailed explanation of how everything worked, including the hot tub. The gardens and views are stunning, the short forest walk into Ohakune town for dinner was also wonderful. We would definitely recommend a stay at Two Rivers.
Just one thing to note is that with the room we had, the jacuzzi hot tub is shared and is much nearer the other guest room. My wife felt for the other couple, ss it was a little awkward going passed their bedroom, whilst getting to the shared jacuzzi.

Great host.they were very welcoming to the guests. The welcome kit was the added bonus. The room is exactly as what is in the pics and is maintained very clean . The outside Jacuzzi and the location near the two rivers were the highlights of this place. A must stay place and we will definitely be staying here again when we visit Ohakune.
Just a suggestion is that would have liked a microwave oven either in the room or a common place to heat the food/milk in cold weather apart from that everything was perfect.

The property was well maintained but the situation was somewhat disappointing being in a semi commercial area with junkyards/Garages close by. The room was small but well appointed and extremely clean and very comfortable, perfect for a one or two night stay.
The rooms whilst well appointed were very small and the coffee, tea area was very cramped. The facilities were adequate but putting dirty dishes in a bowl on the floor to be left outside for the hosts to wash/replace was not ideal, The host was great and very helpful though.

The property is clean and very comfortable. It is near to the shops and just approximately 15-20mins away from the mountain. You can hear the relaxing sounds of nature while using the spa pool. Scott and Ula is also very attentive to their guests needs. They provided everything and made our anniversary very special. Scott replies quickly to any of my concerns and made sure that our stay will be perfect!
None at all. Everything was superb!

Absolutely loved our stay at Two Rivers! After completing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, the spa pool was an absolute dream—just what we needed to relax and unwind. But the real highlight was being able to swim in the river—such a stunning and refreshing experience! The whole place had such a peaceful and welcoming vibe. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!
