We stayed in a beautifully appointed huge bedroom with walk in robe and bathroom and a shared balcony. The older style property is well maintained. Our room also had a fridge, microwave, plates etc. We made use of both the house’s well equipped kitchen and the outside bbq area to cook our evening meals. There are plenty of outside or inside furnished areas to use as well. Ohakune is a pretty town close by, with a car, & had several nice eateries. Daniel is a fantastic, really helpful host and the breakfasts are superb and served in a delightful room with garden views.

Tidy, beautifully made cabins. The manager/owner of the bussines is a very friendly and fun person, always willing to help. Views of the mountain and the surrounding urban land are very beautiful. Beakfast was nice. The fireplace kept the cabin very warm at night. Hot tub was real fun, too.

The bed pillows were too stiff for my taste. The access for Raetihi Ohakune Road is dangerous (Mangawhero Road access is righ on a bend!). Water pressure is low, but is something expected for the location of the accomodation. Internet is slow and limited to a fw GB per day.

I think the only negative is the size of TV and where it's placed (too high up). Other than that, can't fault (personal opinion) anywhere else awesome place is great. The host is real friendly and knowledgeable in re to places to go to and explore. I think the spa pool should ve included in the rate.

This place was such a good find. Preston’s condition, private and awesome views of the mountain! The owner goes out of his way to ensure everything about our stay was excellent. Cooked eggs for breakfast and able to bring the dog was a massive bonus!

A wonderful place to stay, the cabin was beautiful, warm and cozy. We loved the fireplace and the spa pool at night with no light pollution the stars were bright and beautiful. The country surrounds and gardens are stunning. A great location, very close to Ohakune township, a few minutes drive. A delicious and beautiful breakfast served daily, thank you Dani for being a warm welcoming host. Highly recommend, we can't wait to come back and stay!

Our hosts were fabulous and very welcoming. Nothing was a problem ! (even with three children, requesting three different, odd, and unusual breakfast items each morning). The cabins were cozy and quiet, and with the fireplace in full swing, they were warm and super comfortable. Top marks. Danny - You're a Lad.

We loved this stay. It was a perfect spot if you want to hike Tongariro. The hosts were extremely accommodating and helped us with our transport to and from Tongariro. We were able to organise the shuttle bus to pick us up and directly drop us off at the hotel. Breakfast was great, with plenty of food and drinks. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The breakfast was delicious, perfectly cooked and satisfying. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and provided exceptional service. The accommodation was incredibly comfortable, warm and provided plenty of opportunity for entertainment regardless of the weather

Lovely location to relax and enjoy mountain views. About 5 to 8.minute drive from the town center in a nice quiet area.Dani is a great host who cares for his guests, and he makes a lovely breakfast. He even posted some items back to our address for us that we left behind

My partner and I stayed at the River Lodge during our Christmas/ summer holiday and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Cleanest room we have ever stayed in. The hosts are fantastic, great vibes all round! The included breakfast was delicious and we had all the amenities we needed. Well worth the price and experience away from a chain hotel. The setting is so green, relaxing and warm. We slept so well as it was so quiet. Highly recommend you stay here if you are planning to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - Dani can organise a direct shuttle to/from the track for you.
