It had everything I needed for an overnight stop. It was clean and tidy, confortable and relaxing, at a very good price. Just off the main road so easy walking distance to shops, cafes and take aways. I get the impression that Taihape is a place where people rest overnight on long journeys rather than an end destination for a holiday. When I travel around NZ motel owners tend to say, "Have a good holiday" whereas here he said, "Have a good rest"!!

Everytime I've stayed in Taihape, the local McDonalds cafe has a big notice on its front door saying 'Drive Through Only' even though there apoear to be people sat inside. Curious that this has happened more than once. I wonder if the motel owner coukd reply to this comment if he knows why. It's only just up the road from the motel and would be really handy as somewhere to sit down and eat, if only there's a way to see if it's open.

Clean and comfortable unit. Compact but necessities were provided. Host was friendly and helpful, provided additional pillows on request. Handy to town centre, good for an overnight stay while travelling through. Very comfortable bed despite "dips" from previous occupants

Curtains could have been a little more generous, only just covered the windows so the morning light came through at sunrise.

A classic Kiwi motel just outside downtown Taihape. Large, roomy, old school comfort. I was in the 'shared accommodation' which was very comfortable. A big room. Shared bathroom and shower. Big kitchen. Large lounge. Sky TV in room and lounge were much enjoyed bonus.

Taihape motel is an older style establishment. This doesn't take away from the fact that the room was very clean, the double bed was very comfy, the shower was great. I stayed there for 2 nights and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The price for both nights was exceptional, for what I would have paid in other establishments in the area. If you want stop over for the night, this is the place to stay. Very helpful staff.

The owner accommodated our late arrival , he phone before we arrived to check our ETA, we arrived to find the room warmed by a heater.

Nothing ….except wouldn’t have minded a greater selection of hot drinks, green tea and hot chocolate…not just tea and coffee 😞😞

Convenient and on the way, fair value for money. Big room and enough hot water pressure.

Rooms are old but clean and comfortable. The shower is made for very small people, I had to sit on my knees to wash my hair 😂

The staff were very friendly and took great security measures - they reassured me of this after I showed concern about valuables in my car. The rooms felt very homely and comfortable, and the whole place was very clean.

The bed could have been more comfortable, but for the price it was fantastic.

Even the cheapest rooms should have individual locks on them. I wanted to leave stuff (laptop etc) in the room while I went out for dinner but no room lock. A key for the block is not enough.

Excellent customer service and a very friendly reception. Excellent efficient heating on a cold night. Very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed for a night's rest when travelling - apart from the local fire siren :)

The trains were few and very quiet, didn't notice them at all. We had lots of shared space and the kitchen was well appointed.

The boom boom boom of the music from the gynm down the road. Started at 7am, finished about mid evening. Didnt disturb us too much.
