Upstairs room and ensuite very nice and easy to keep cool. Pool was great at the end of a hot day. Wifi handy as mobile signal a bit weak.

Two-story Lockwood homes certainly creak when you walk around at night. Gravel driveway could be challenging to someone on a bigger heavier motorbike than mine.

Loved this place! Roxanne and Chris are great hosts who are very friendly but know when to give you space. The upstairs bedroom and ensuite in their home is private and spacious, with a bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities, tv, table and chairs, bath and beach towels etc. Everything was clean and tidy. We had a lovely swim in their pool. A spa/hot tub is also available for guest use. The garden is well tendered and has a wonderful view of the river and countryside. We enjoyed the company of their small dogs and cat. However, the hosts are careful to make sure they do not become a nuisance. It is a short drive into Dargaville where there are plenty of options for a meal. The breakfast, included in the price, ranges from fruit / cereal / toast, through to bacon / eggs / hash browns. Roxanne and Chris make a great team. We hope to return one day.

A very comfortable room in a great location with lovely views of the river. Chris & Roxanne we’re excellent hosts & couldn’t do enough for me. Fabulous breakfasts & the offer for me to eat with them in the evenings if I wished was very much appreciated (although I didn’t need to take up the offer). having a hot tub & pool available to use at any time was an added bonus.

it was a little hard to find with no sign on the road and only the house number to go by - I was very glad I had sat nav. A little bedside table would be a useful addition

Excellent idea to offer a home cooked dinner for guests as an extra. We had a roast chicken with a huge and very welcome round of vegetables plus a home style dessert Pleasant country stay in nice surroundings with friendly hosts.

Hard to locate the property . A B and B sign would have helped. The town above the property where we originally went, being unable to find our way, is pretty rundown and I would have been most uncomfortable to have stayed there, so was pleased when we eventually located the B and B.

The B&B is a little bit outside of Dargaville and offers a very nice view over the Wairoa River. The host was very courteous and he cooked nice breakfast for us in the morning and we got nice information about New Zealand. The room was spacious for two persons. Large TV and internet connection was good.

The house was quite noisy (wooden house) and the barking of the dogs in the night was a little bit annoying.

Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. Room was nice and airy with comfy bed. If you are a pet lover like us, it was great to have these animals around. They remained in the main house, so were not in the guest room.

Perhaps if breakfast spreads were in a smaller plate/container, rather than in the original tub or jar, so that it is easier to use and looks fresher.

Located on a hill the house has an amazing “log cabin” interior and our room was on the upper floor, overlooking the pool and spa and beautiful garden. Our room was spacious and cosy and the bed was amazing and very comfortable. Our hosts, Chris and Roxanne, were extremely kind, helpful and interested in our holiday, offering great advice on places not to miss and best roads to avoid delays etc. The food is great too and we enjoyed a hot cooked breakfast. A great place to stay!

Host was great, breakfast was fabulous. Would give it a higher rating but they have some small dogs that barked a bit and the creaking of the wood as the temperature changed could be a tad annoying but a great place and value for the money.

Very nice home, most welcoming hosts, they really care about their guests and their comfort. The room is nice, the bathroom good, the grounds excellent, the host most excellent.

Chris and Roxy have a lovely house and are great hosts. Thanks for dinner and the swim and the fruit and avocado and everything else.
