Location was great, lots of parking outside the room. Kitchen was well equipped, large communal room, with TV and boardgames. Beds were comfy, large bedrooms with lots of storage. Typical hotel room amenities provided, tea/coffee station, towels, soap. Radiator was greatly appreciated on the cold evening. Shared bathrooms were clean at all times. Bike rack by reception, felt safe leaving bikes locked up overnight. Great spot for the price!

One pillow provided on the single bed, 2 on the double. No extra pillows in the cupboards. Bedroom side light didn't work, used a camping lantern instead.

Excellent value for money in basic lodge accommodation. Clean and comfortable with well sized fridge you can use for personal items. Well located in central Twizel, only a few minutes walk to central town amenities and nice bars/restaurants. You get what you pay for and this was basic but comfortable and clean, all you can ask for.

Fairly basic and very old/not working TV, but if you are staying in Twizel it is all you need for a nights stay and you are doing it wrong if you are sat in your room watching TV!

Clean comfortable bed, nice hot shower, great location and unexpected daily room servicing. We usually stay in hotels and wondered what on earth we had booked when we arrived. However, we often pay one night in a hotel for the price of three nights here. We were VERY comfortable. We loved the authentic retro design and history of the property. Despite being in the middle of town during the New Years' break it was nice and quiet. We didn't meet the hosts but receive clear emailed instructions in a timely manner. The location was perfect for our plans. Overall our stay in Twizel was comfortable, fun and convenient.

I didn't actually get to spend much time here because I arrived after official check in hours, but the staff were very accommodating of this - they left my keys in a lock box near reception and gave me instructions via email, so I was still able to get in after hours. There seemed to be a supermarket just across from the caravan park, so in daylight hours you would probably have good access to food and other necessities. It's also one of the closest reasonably-sized towns to Lake Pukaki, so it's well-positioned for those wanting to explore the lakes and mountains in the area.

The only slight disadvantage I can think of is that the room shares walls with some other rooms, so I could sometimes hear other occupants (as opposed to the detached cabins you often find in caravan parks). However, this is an extremely minor point.

Clean, tidy and comfortable. The private room had a comfy bed. Also curtains that could block out light effectively (very helpful in summer). There was also a small kitchenette in the room with a simple cooking hob and cooking utensils, pot, pan, plates, bowls, cutlery.

It was an old and dated property. You could also hear some of the sounds (eg, television, conversations) from the room next door. The wifi connection did not work most of the time.

The bloke on reception was friendly and welcoming. The room access and parking was very easy.. only 3 steps and parking directly in front of the room. The communication was great. The kitchenette had exactly what we needed for an overnight stay and cooking our own pasta. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was brilliant.. high pressure and lots of heat. 2adults and one teen had enough room. Across the road to all of the shops.. and on the other corner a petrol station .. perfect location to visit Mt Cook too.. only an hours drive. Lots of power outlets.

No scissors in the kitchen to open the yummy coffee satchels

Great value accommodation, $60 cheaper a night than basic hotels we saw in the area and we got our own kitchenette to cook. Yes it’s dated but perfect for a good value short stay. Warm shower, clean towels with toiletries, free tea bags and coffee, well stocked cutlery and kitchen utensils. Some of the reviews are very harsh on here - comparing this to prices in the area it’s a good budget option.

Friendly welcome from owner, and staff helpful, always smiling even though weather cold for this Auckland gal. Room had heater quickly warmed up, it was humble room prob well used, alot history hardworking people on hydroelectric I would say? Close to shops great restaurants we loved dining at Ministry of Works. What made our 2night stay was welcome, and cleanliness. My husband and I will certainly recommend.

Nothing reasonable price for what we paid.

A spacious room with a generous kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable, too. The bathroom was plain but adequate. There were plenty of power outlets for charging devices. Parking is right at your door - albeit a bit squeezy. The location is deal for an overnighter before heading to Mt Cook, which is an easy one-hour drive away. We will happily stay there again.

Perfectly located with just a short stroll to the pub. Stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment and beds were comfy and fantastic having the 2 toilets and 2 showers for larger groups, would definitely be keeping at the top of the list for next time we have a larger group coming into Twizel

No issue’s, was an adjustment having to ration the data but ended up increasing the in person interactions instead so not a bad thing
