Looked more upmarket when I drove up, so had to ask the barman if I was in the right place! Had a really good meal in the modernised pub. Nice to hear people laughing, children on next table chatting, attentive staff. A glass of beer was nice too. Staff all relaxed in their roles, happy to be at work. Queen bedroom in main body of pub (downstairs, plenty of parking) was a little dated but that is reflected in the price, which suits me. En-suite + coffee etc. Treated well, not over=priced, safe and secure for solo female,

Time didn't permit more than an overnight stay. There are plenty of great walks around that deserved more attention.

Great place to stay. Our room had two single beds and there was plenty of room. The room was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. It also had a little desk in the hallway with microwave and toaster plus crockery and cutlery. Really appreciated it for breakfast as we had some bread in the car, so we had some toast to go with our coffee in the morning before we left. They also serve great meals at the pub there, which was a nice surprise, better than just your average pub meals. I would stay there again.

I changed my dates to stay a week earlier. Sure I did with booking.com there was no notification. I would have slept in the cleaners cupboard but they pulled out all the stops & found me a room. I was forever grateful. The publican even recognised me from my last stay. Legends.

The hot and cold water signal on the tab in the shower is wrong located. We switched all the way to the “red” - means hot water, and wait for a while but no hot water coming. We thought: Oh no may be it’s late at night time, no more hot water… until my partner turn it all the way to the “blue” signal - for Cold water, then the hot water came out. A bit confusing for us but it’s okay. Everything else was good

The room was big, clean and really comfortable. We were warm overnight. The location is fantastic. We loved being in the same building as the pub and just walking down the corridor at the end of the evening to our room. We were delighted with the whole stay.

We ate at the restaurant as there weren't any choice outside after 6.30pm. The restaurant staff were very friendly and provided very good service. The pork ribs I ordered was really big portion and I struggled to finish - it was good but too much meat for me...lol.

The shower kept dripping and the noise affected our sleep somewhat. I can hear snoring sounds from the next room. The corridor and room have certain odour. We only stayed one night which is ok. If you want more comfortable stay, I suggest other places.

Good price/quality balance. The beds were comfortable, room was clean, shower had good pressure. It’s not the most amazing place I’ve stayed, but for the cost we were very satisfied. The motel is connected to a good restaurant/bar, which is very convenient.

Facilities are dated, but clean. No real complaints, especially for the cost.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The room itself was clean, tidy, had everything I needed, and was great value. Ate at the pub for dinner, great food!

Nothing, great place to stay

We had a great stay in Otematata. The apartment was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The staff is super friendly and will help wherever it is needed. Thanks for everything!

WiFi is not that strong in the room.

Greeting was welcoming, Being a pub after office hrs, we checked in at bar, they were ready for us, friendly got rooms and invited us back once settled in for a drink and something to eat when we were ready.
