We stayed here for one night whilst touring New Zealand. There isn't a lot to see in Omarama but it is on the junction of SH8 and SH83 so can be a busy little town. The Ahuriri Motel is just off the main road so a much quieter location than some of the other hotels in the town. The bed was comfy, the room was spacious and clean and there was a decent sized ensuite shower room. There is a basic kitchen area that was perfectly adequate. For our evening meal, we had a short walk to the Boots and Jandals restaurant and hotel which was very busy but serving good food and drinks.

Everything was good.

We liked this place! It was small but adequate for a one night stay. We had a very friendly check in and liked our unit. The room was small but had a fridge, microwave, toaster, Kettle, cutlery and crockery, heater (not needed in summer) and flatscreen TV. There was a tiny glass table for eating or working - a bit tight! The free Wi-Fi was good. The location was close to the town centre and about 7 miles away from the 'clay cliffs' - certainly worth visiting. Altogether a good place to stay. We paid £65 for one night - good value!

Everything was fine.

We booked a self contained one bedroom motel unit with a double in the lounge dining area and single in bedroom. Full kitchen double glazed windows and doors, spacious and quiet. It had no vacancies and a holiday park next door and we never heard a sound! It was beautifully presented, tastefully decorated and everything we needed was in the unit. Very professional and Lovely owner operator.

Shower is low pressure but super easy push button operation and hot water was plentiful. Really there was Nothing we didn't like.

I liked that I could park my car right in front. The room was spacious enough.

In the other accomodation before this one...they all had kept the rooms warm and cosy. This one had the heat on low and windows open...in Winter...so you can imagine how cold it was. It was ok in then end because I closed the windows then popped down to Omarama Hot Tubs and turned the heat up high before I left.

The studio was a welcoming comfortable suite with everything a traveller needs. It was exceptionally clean and was easy to relax in. The location is amazing and it was a great alternative to rushing on to the busy noiseyness of Queenstown. The pub down the road is great and the food of more than city standard. There’s also a great breakfast barn around the corner. The motel and locality is well recommended.

Nothing to dislike

Needed a room at short notice due to snow stopping Our on water activities and was getting to cold in the camper, asked if early check in was available and they accommodated Paid budget price and got more than Expected

No dislikes Only recommendation would be that over time during renovations or upgrades that they install the USB / 230v combo PowerPoints near the bed. Seems to be the new norm in other places we’ve stayed at and convenient.

This property was clean and provided all we needed for our overnight stay. There was a double bed in the kitchen/dining area and a single in the bedroom next door, which had the shower room off it. These buildings were originally for hydro or dam builders I believe and provided good, basic comforts. Very good value accommodation. They are set out in a cluster but you can park in front of.

Nothing to dislike.

The unit was clean and comfortable and had handy cooking facilities. The motel was in an ideal location for my friends and I who were attending the Gibbston Valley event on the Saturday afternoon. We drove from Oamaru and were able to break our trip at Omarama overnight and then head off to Gibbston Valley early the next morning. We returned to the motel on the Saturday night.

The view from our cabin was amazing! Loved it! The cabin had everything we needed for one-night stay. The staff was very accommodating for our late check-in. Parking was available.

We were only provided with two sachets of dishwashing liquid, we were expecting a bottle of dishwashing liquid since we did have quite a lot of dishes but we managed. That’s not a huge problem. Loved the stay!

This was the perfect stay, the room was warm on arrival, we were met with a smiling face and bottle of fresh milk!! the room was much larger than most rooms now built this is the benefit of a 1980's build, they were built as workers accommodation not as motel rooms so they are warm and well sized.
