This was our second stay in three years. it’s well worth driving a little bit out of your way to get here. Situated in a beautiful valley, a stream running along the property can be heard through the open window at night. It’s meticulously clean with plenty of lounge areas inside and out for relaxing and visiting. The family owners/staff made us feel like we were family. The home cooked dinner was outstanding with it’s 80 year traditional “Heavenly Pudding” for dessert. The traditional Norwegian breakfast buffet was tasty, elegant, and classy. The dining room has the feel of an expensive restaurant with white tablecloths and candles. The rooms are a little dated, but the entire property has a very Scandinavian “hygge” feel to it. It was like we were staying at my favorite uncle’s house; he asked us when we would be back and stood on the porch and waved to us as we drove away.

The hotel is at a very quiet city on a lakeside. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very well-maintained; it looks tidy and neat and is full of last century's artifacts (kinda 60s style). There is a large "club room" area with multiple tables.

The hotel looks old in a cute way but it's not so old as to make it irresistably charming. It looks like my grandma's lake house, and perhaps a few years later down the road, it will start to have that charm. Additionally, we didn't like the dinner, and preferred to dine in the nearest larger town -- the trouble is that the nearest large town is 20 minutes away by car.

The beds were comfortable, parking on site and the bar was nice! The staff were very nice and friendly.

The breakfast needs some help adding fruit, greek low sugar yogurt and better cereal would be an improvement

Very welcoming. Slightly basic dining with a set menu but really good staff managing well. Coped well with the large number of coach parties.
